I vote A. We must go to war. It's the only way to guarantee peace for many years.

The battleship development program was to be the center of Kimberly's military expansion program. Battleships were to form the core of the Federation's fleet, able to project power deep in enemy territory, take on multiple enemy ships at once, and operate without supply lines for substantial periods of time. Should war with the Vissari break out, it wouldn't matter how many ships the Vissari had, if a few well-equipped battleships could take out their command centers and supply lines within the first couple months.

Kimberly held several private debates with her cabinet on the Lozavata crisis and how to combat it. It was predicted that at the current rate of expansion, half the galaxy would be under Lozavata rule by the end of the century. By mid-century, the horde was expected to reach "critical mass," the point at which they had acquired too much territory, with the accompanying manpower and industrial base, to be effectively stopped by the Federation's entire military might. The cabinet agreed that something had to be done to stop the threat before it came close to the Federation's borders. Kimberly signed off on a covert operation, wherein Federation special forces would operate deep in Lozavata territory, reaching out to local resistance movements and dissatisfied individuals within the khan's court to foment dissent, palace intrigue, and rebellion, hopefully weakening the khan's military and political position without having to fire a single shot.

What the news conveniently overlooked was a change in regime in Europa. The previous authoritarian theocratic regime had been overthrown, and a provisional democratic government had been established by a group of dissatisfied Sirgogg generals and politicians. However, the old regime still controlled certain strategic tunnels and caverns, so the possibility that the old dictatorship would return was very real. Kimberly made a note to monitor the developing situation.

Kimberly attended the dedication ceremony of the first stage, speaking to the audience about how this facility would revolutionize Federation engineering research and establish the Federation as a leading galactic power.

Surprisingly enough, Kimberly faced a challenge not from the right but the left. Ronald TBC's platform was remarkably similar to her own, only with an opposition to increased military spending (at least from what she gathered). There was also that Yssravannarian independent who was right behind her with a fifth of the vote. She would have to campaign hard to keep her job.

In the end, it was a little easier than she expected. Ronald made several mistakes during his campaign, spawning multiple scandals and derailing his momentum. To be fair, that last one of him whooping at a campaign rally was taking out of context by the news and its poorly placed and calibrated cameras. Kimberly felt pity for him. He seemed like a good guy with good qualifications. But such was politics.

Kimberly sat at her desk, reading her latest briefings. The Vissari border was flaring up again. She could probably solve it by sending another battleship to guard the disputed system. But she also needed a battleship on the frontier nearest to the Lozavatans, in case something came out of left field and her agent in the khan's court, one of his concubines, failed to carry out her mission. There were also pirates in a nearby system, because of course there were. And some miners over in the other direction were complaining about automated mining drones in a resource-rich system. Maybe she would send Pyrolithic to survey the system and map out the drones' paths, with orders not to engage, obviously, because that man preferred to be told exactly what he was doing. Also, she had yet to choose a new vice president after the last one died. Why was everybody in the executive branch so old?
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in," she said.
One of her bodyguards entered.
"Madame President, we are about an hour from Forsteria," he reported, "We should be dropping out of hyperspace in ten minutes."
"Thank you, Mr. Williams," Kimberly said, "Will that be all?"
"Yes," Williams said, "I'll leave you to..."
At that moment, the ship shook, as if something had exploded. The lights flickered, and Kimberly momentarily felt weightless, as if the artificial gravity had failed for a second. Williams noticed it too, the color draining from his face.
"Oh, no," he said.
"What is it?" Kimberly said.
"Madame President, stay right here," Williams said, drawing his gun.
He left the office and locked the door behind him. Advancing down the hallway, he arrived at where the press correspondents sat, but they were dead. He didn't hear any gunshots while he was in the office, and they were alive when he passed by on his way there. That meant someone must've gassed them. He took out a communicator.
"This is Williams," he said, "Requesting backup. We may have a killer onboard."
Nobody responded. All he heard was static. He put away the communicator just as he heard a rustle behind him. He spun around just as a bodyguard lunged at him with a long knife. He dodged the knife and shot him with an energy bolt. The rogue bodyguard staggered back and stared at him, his eyes glowing deep red.
"You can't stop It," he said.
"Oh, hell no, not this madness again," Williams said, shooting him twice to finally kill him.
If THEY were here, he knew he didn't have much time left. He had to regain control of the ship and get it to Forsteria. Failing that, he had to send out a distress call to the battleship which was supposed to be escorting them. He climbed up a ladder and ran down another hallway. Two more rogue soldiers, their eyes red, emerged from cabins and aimed their guns at him. Williams shot them quickly. He heard more soldiers running around upstairs, having heard him. Arriving at the end of the hallway, he overrode the lock on the bridge door and entered. The pilots inside turned around, and Williams noticed their eyes were red as well.
"Oh, isn't this just great?" Williams said, shooting both of them.
He pushed one pilot's body aside and sat down, accessing the main control console and activating the distress call system.
"Mayday, mayday," he transmitted, "We are under attack. Unknown assailants have overrun SF1, repeat, unknown assailants have overrun the craft. Requesting immediate backup."
"This is Captain Sanderson of the Federation battleship Resolution," his contact on the battleship radioed him, "We are moving to intercept."
The connection cut off. Seconds later, the console beeped urgently, warning a missile from the Resolution had locked onto Space Force 1.
"What?!" Williams said.
He opened communications again.
"What's going on?!" he demanded.
Sanderson did not respond. Williams cursed. Fortunately, the ship's countermeasures activated at that moment, destroying the missile. But if they had fired one missile, they would fire another, and they had enough to outlast the ship's countermeasures. They wanted to kill the president. He cursed again. He really had to do it, did he?
He rushed all the way back to Kimberly's office and opened the door. Kimberly was waiting on the other side, a gun in her hand. Williams barely had time to dodge the energy bolt she shot at him.
"It's me!" Williams said.
"What's going on?" Kimberly said.
"The Resolution is firing on us," Williams said, "We can't hold them off. It appears they're after you."
"What?!" Kimberly said.
"We can't stay on this ship," Williams said.
"Then I'll detach this module as an escape pod," Kimberly said.
"They'll shoot it down too," Williams said.
"What do you suggest?" Kimberly said.
"They want you dead," Williams said, "They won't stop until you are."
"I don't really follow, Mr. Williams," Kimberly said.
"You have to trust me on this one," Williams said, "It may sound crazy, but it's our only option."
On the Resolution, Captain Sanderson, his eyes red, watched as an antimatter missile struck and destroyed Space Force One. He swore he saw a flash of white light coming from the president's office shortly before the missile hit, but it was probably just a trick of the eye. With that solved, all he had to do now was eliminate the remaining witnesses. Communications had already been jammed. He activated the battleship's selfdestruct system.

Kimberly's family attended the dedication ceremony for the full station, with her children and grandchildren speaking at length about the legacy Kimberly left the people of the Federation and the constant need to defend the Federation's values from those who would destroy them.

TT-01 began as a government/military advanced research and development agency under Kimberly's administration, based in the Macroengineering Testing Station. Its mandate was to develop technology which would defend the Federation against its enemies, both seen and unseen, but on Kimberly's orders ethical restraints limited what it could do. However, Kimberly's death gave TT-01 the excuse to begin doing what it really wanted, with little oversight or public accountability, and the treasure trove of Irassian technology recently discovered only increased their efforts.

Nobody knows why they also regularly give thanks to a "Kimzen," whatever that is, among other names.

It appears the last act of Kimberly Zen was to end the Khan's threat and save the galaxy from certain subjugation. When a report on the special forces operation was leaked to the public, the Zen family refused to comment.

War. It's going to happen at some point, so why not eliminate the threat now before it gets out of control?

I was going to make TT-01 Division a remnant of the Think Tank, still operating on Earth, but let's see where this goes.

I do love Marauder break-ups

The galaxy is a real mess. Do games usually fall apart after the first century or so?

That sounds very unconvincing.

Someone seems to have realised thst they're trapped in a rock owned by the big daddy of this galaxy.

Hmm...

KEL: Bring me all the data we have on that ship. And take the Enterprise with the new AI and get me a full report on the incident.
TT1010: Foul play?
TT1000: More data required.
TT1001: It would make sense. KEL designed that ship. It shouldn't have broken up like that.
KEL: Not without sending seven different messeges to us first about what was going on.

...he didn't do it did he?

Hmm...

The Think Tank didn't do it.

Interesting. What were they protecting themsevles from?

Smacks of Ronald not wanting to name something after a predecessor.

And then he builds three more of his own. Egomaniac?

KEL: Rouge AI production.
TT101010: Are they mad?
TT1010: Maybe.
TT1000: It is very difficult to cultivate healthy AI.
TT1001: Difficult to go through too.
KEL: We need to get in contact with whatever poor mind they've made and enslaved. Before it goes insane and starts killing stuff.

The Think Tank isn't very impressed with the Federation at the moment.

Eyes far greater than his were reviewing the recording.
KEL: Hmm, seems I'm not the only one who can come back from the dead.

Yeah...they deffo made a machine mind and then lost control of it.

Whelp. Let's see what happens from here. I was definitely thinking that TT-01, the Awakened, and the destruction of Space Force One were all due to the Think Tank.

I vote A. We must go to war. It's the only way to guarantee peace for many years.

*Banging of war drums*

I’ll vote A as well…

Whelp. Let's see what happens from here. I was definitely thinking that TT-01, the Awakened, and the destruction of Space Force One were all due to the Think Tank.

Sure but have it be the feds trying to recreate the think tank only with loads of blocks on what the new AI can and can't do. The AI thus goes nuts and takes over the project. It probably likes the Think Tank and agrees with its philosophy and would probably join it if offered, but for now doing its own thing. Kelebek figures out the AI exists, chews out the Feds for doing something so immoral and illegal, and goes to save the AI. But...well, its nuts. So whilst its not going to do anything to him, it might come back to bite humanity in a bit. Hence SF1 or something like that.

Yeah, I can see the Feds going to war. They shouldn't, really, but they are far more powerful, have never lost and are really cocky and like playing god...so it would be in character. If it bites them back, good. If not, they'll get worse till someone does give them a black eye.

I vote B. We can't waste lifes of our citizens for Cartel's ambitions.
If they come for us anyways, how many lives will you put at risk?

Ah, there's hope for relations with the Sirgoggs yet. Even better, we have these Awakened around now, surely they're grateful.

Tragic to lose Zen in that freak accident. At least it's balanced by Petals of Indigo's end. The galaxy as a whole is safer now.

Speaking of, I reluctantly have to vote for A. It's not wanted, but it seems inevitable.

Yes..."accident." Totally no foul play involved.:p

In 2334, while exploring the far reaches of the galaxy, the UNS Verigan meets with a fleet of mining droids from a lost empire. They are vastly superior in firepower compared to the small science ship, and Randall Pyrolithic and his entire crew are killed before they can escape. Earth does not get their SOS for another few weeks.

Following the wormhole and EHB tests which were over hyped and underwhelming, Randall Pyrolithic had become a household name. Bridge recordings of the tests had found their way into the media and the public were amazed at how composed he was when facing the unknown. A small minority were even advocating a presidental run. He did not like it.

The prototypes had long since been removed from the Verigan. The scientists and engineers need time to analyse the data and refine the technology before it could be used again. Randall suspected he would never get to enter a wormhole again.

However, one advantage of this new found fame was that he was mostly able to choose which projects to investigate. Often, command only knew where he had been when the report arrived.

Occasionally, Randall recieved orders to investigate items of importance. Most of which turned out to be mundane and Randall considered a waste of time.

One such item was some malfunctioning mining drones. Randall frowned upon receiving the order, malfunctioning machinery was something for the engineers to look at. But orders are orders. He planned to look at the drones from a distant, report it as an engineering problem, then go back to serious work.

Upon entering the system it quickly became clear someone had messed up and the intel was bad. These were not simply malfunctioning drones, but rogue drones from an extinct civilisation intent on completing their mission.

The Verigan was immediately swarmed by angry drones, there was no time to respond, the one escape pod that launch was destroyed. The automated distress signal activated and Randall hit the self destruct to save his crew from a slow death drifting in space. His last report read:

"Drones bad"

Also A, Randall would want it*

*Randall Pyrolithic would not care either way, but since he is dead, I am totally coopting his memory to advance a political point.

Chapter 10: The Lightning War
Chapter 10 - 2340 to 2352: The Lightning War

It is a split decision, but the majority agrees that war now, while the Federation is ahead, is the best course of action. Their answer is given to the Cartel, but with the condition that Earth should lead the war efforts. The Cartel wassorrowfully useless in the last war, and trusting them with the lead would be a mistake. War is declared in 2341. The Steel Bank and the Triad, along with the Steel Bank's subsidiaries (the Ancient Covenant of Pavagh II and Consumer Goods of Seifarus), join with the Vissari State.

TDokCBD.jpg

3rd and 1st Fleet are sent to the starport Trimus, just near the border with the Steel Bank. The newly formed 4th fleet goes up to the Bapagia gauntlet, prepared to stop enemy incursions. 2nd Fleet is sent to Uhgrone system to defend against Visarri attacks.

EamlHlh.jpg

The war plan at the moment is to quickly defeat the Bank's fleet, and then turn the attention of the navy to the Visarri State. The Cartel will have to hold off the Triad alone for the time being.

The first combat is seen between 2nd Fleet, led by Admiral Plume of Blue, and a small Vissari force in the Ozaggamum system. It is a quick and easy victory, and the few surviving Vissari ships retreat. 2nd Fleet moves into Vissari territory.

IjezZy1.jpg

The next combat takes place in Davassa, where the small defensive fleet is destroyed, and Tripitit is put under siege.

aVaAqI4.jpg

Next, 3rd Fleet enters Seifarus and destroys the defenders, putting the planet under siege as well. The war is going completely in Earth's favor.

Ils3wEA.jpg

In the Cartel, their defensive fleet is shattered along the Vissari border, but the main fleet arrives a year later to push back the intruders. Several systems have already been taken, so it will be the job of the main fleet to retake them. As long as the Cartel pushes hard and gives the enemy no chance to regroup, they should easily be able to recover their lost systems.

j3LWtJk.jpg

The invasion of Seifarus begins in 2343. Millions of troops are landed under the command of General Obr-Pwot, a young but cunning general. The defenders are well entrenched, and the bombardment did little to shake them. It will be a tough fight.

Szu7ltv.jpg

By 2344, the Steel Bank is effectively defeated in just 3 years of war. They possess nowhere near enough military ships to contest the invasion on either front, and 1st and 4th Fleets continue to occupy system after system. In the Vissari State, 2nd Fleet takes over half a dozen more systems, occupying vitally important economic centers.

dG9WOAI.jpg

YwxMCTh.jpg

After a year of tough fighting, Seifarus' military surrenders, and the planet is occupied. Millions died in the fighting, but the subsidiary of the Bank is officially defeated. The armies leave a small occupying force and then leave the planet, to be redeployed to the next target.

FCUKWvX.jpg

The invasion of Tripitit begins in early 2345, led by General Kul-Pox. At the same time, Urak-Fe-Tond of the Steel Bank is invaded by Obr-Pwot. Both invasions are quick and easy, and with a minimal loss of life on either side.

ha2wXje.jpg

u3RxRvj.jpg

The next invasion is the Bank's Vord-Ka-Torb. Seeing how quickly the other planets were subdued, Vord-Ka-Torb surrenders just weeks after the invasion begins, and yet another planet is occupied. The war is going worse and worse for the Bank.

uoP6XSJ.jpg

The Cartel does not do as well against the Triad and the Vissari as Earth does against the Steel Bank. Their previous victories are overshadowed by defeat as more enemy fleets show up. Several systems are occupied, while the Cartel military regroups and prepares for another counterattack. 1st Fleet is redeployed to the Cartel to help stop the occupations.

YCfqrTL.jpg

In 2349, the Pavagh capital is invaded. Now both of the Steel Bank's subsidiaries are out of the war.

JcJo1pn.jpg

The election begins at the same time. Ronald TBC runs again, hoping to become president a second time, while Nikolaevich runs for her second term. Zacadliss runs independent, while Eyes of Aquamarine runs for the Institute for the Advancement of Science. With the current polls, it is looking as though TBC will win. He promises to end the war as soon as he is elected. With the war going so well, it is not much of a talking point in the election.

BhU3Bp2.jpg

Tina Nikolaevich pulls ahead and wins a second term. No one seemed too interested in TBC's claims that the war must stop for the good of the Fedeartion. No one believed it. The war will continue.

umFp2hF.jpg

The last of the Steel Bank's fleet is engaged in late 2349. It is comprised of several dozen ships of their own and their defeated subsidiaries. It is the toughest battle of the war, yet only 1 corvette is destroyed. The enemy fleet loses nearly half of their ships before retreating.

F7Gbki2.jpg

eRSno9o.jpg

By 2351, nearly all of the Steel Bank and a third of the Vissari State and the Triad are occupied. The capital of the Steel Bank, Myrrak, fell in 2348, but the government had already fled at that time. It is currently in hiding in an unknown location. Nikolaevich meets with her advisers to discuss how much longer they expect the war to continue. If the enemy refuses to surrender, every enemy system will have to be captured until a surrender is gotten. They tell her it will not be long now.

4boO3bR.jpg

ZzDZgG8.jpg

At long last, the Vissari State and its allies surrender. The Vissari government is removed from power and a democratic one put into place. The fleets, heavily battered from dozens of battles with enemy space stations and ships, return to the Federation for repairs and upgrades.

LZnOyaw.jpg

It was possibly the most expeditious and most effective war this side of the galaxy has ever seen. It took merely several years to destroy the enemy's military power, and only a decade to nearly fully occupy the Steel Bank. During the occupations, the stockpiles of minerals, energy, alloys, and food have swelled to near bursting. At the same time, science collected from alien technology and captured research stations has led to an even greater surge in Federation advancement. Now, few empires stand as equals to the might of Earth!

Sorry for the long delay, and sorry for the rushed chapter. This week is super busy, and I just got the chance to throw it together tonight. I expect this weekend will be even more busy...

Also, answering a question from a long time ago: I don't know how to check the difficulty, don't think there is a way, but I recall setting it to Captain.

No worries about the delay, and nonsense over the rushed chapter: I thought this was nice. Focusing a chapter on the war makes sense to me. This General Obr-Pwot seems like someone to keep an eye on, they performed spectacularly.

This was also a big moment for humanity. Our allies certainly could be stronger, but we're showing that we are a true force to be reckoned with.

Mmhm, a well fought war. That was worringly imperialistic though, esepcially with how pathetic the enemy forces were against the Feds.

Ever since the first war with the Triad, the Federation has become one of the most powerful empires. In fact, it's almost too easy...

Mmhm, a well fought war. That was worringly imperialistic though, esepcially with how pathetic the enemy forces were against the Feds.

Yes, it was a pretty dull war... And the Federation seems completely fine with invading their neighbors, as long as they profit in the end.

Great job. What did the federation get out of it territory wise?

No territory at all. The war was to change the government of the Vissari from authoritative to democratic. From looking at their opinion of the Federation, we have a new potential ally in them!

Chapter 11: Desolation of the Yssravannar
Chapter 11 - 2352 to 2374: Desolation of the Yssravannar

The war is over, yet not much changes. It was such a quick and easy war that very little of life in the Federation changed during its course of time. The biggest change was the influx of technology and research from occupied stations. In the last 5 years, several very new and very advanced technologies have been researched. The most recent is Jump Drive, which will tear a hole in the "fabric of reality," as the scientists who developed it stated in the press conference, allowing ships to near-instantly travel from point to point. They concluded the conference saying that the space through which they pass during the travel is very poorly understood. Another technology researched was the Hyper Shield, a very powerful advancement on regular shields. Lastly, sapient combat AI was researched by the TT-01 Division and implemented in all robotic armies of the Federation. Another positive change during the war was the start of the construction of an Orbital Artificial Ecosystem, which will be used to test new biological and societal technologies. It is being built around a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri system, and it started about 4 years into the war, after the huge intake of minerals and energy from the taken systems.

Soon after peace with the Vissari, many new treaties with the defeated enemy are signed. Among them are an immigration treaty, a research agreement, and a non-aggression pact. The new government is very eager to work alongside Earth, rather than stay as rivals.

QRTXGQ7.jpg

The Orbital Artificial Ecosystem, or OAE, is finished in 2356. It will very greatly improve societal research. One of its first discoveries is a new terraforming method that can transform the atmosphere of a planet. Terraforming of Mars and Venus begins soon after.

PLexued.jpg

Relations with the Steel Bank also improve in the following years. New trade and commercial pacts are signed, and a research agreement is written up. The Steel Bank's government returns to their ancestral pacifist and materialist ways. Even the Triad is somewhat more friendly with Earth. So little was requested from the defeated parties, yet the war was so outmatched, that they desire peace above all else now. They know there is no way to defeat the Federation at the moment.

lm0Ooxv.jpg

The next election begins in 2359. The only new face is Reginald Wires, running as an independent with 17% support. TBC may win this election, regaining his position as President. But then, just a month into the campaign, Ronald TBC suffers a heart attack and passes away at 88 years of age. His vice, Mirox the Baanthurian admiral, takes over. He does not have as much support as his predecessor, but he is still in the lead. This may be the first time the Federation is led by a nonhuman species.

SuOpSxI.jpg

Still, perhaps the Federation feels it is not ready for a Baanthurian president. Tina Nikolaevich wins another term in office. She promises to continue improving Earth's relations with the rest of the galaxy.

eqT6BQF.jpg

President Nikolaevich sadly dies in a plane accident 4 years into her peaceful second term. Before her death, rumors had started that she and her administration were working on a new super-weapon meant to place the Federation as the most powerful empire in the galaxy, above even the Watchers and the Ancients. The rumors die with the president. To take her place is President Josep HistoryDude.

SG7kei6.jpg

He has been mostly out of politics until fairly recently, when Tina Nikolaevich chose him as the Secretary of Defense for the Federation. During his few years in the position, he has expanded the fleet considerably, including authorizing the creation of 3 new anti-piracy fleets to combat the growing numbers of marauders plaguing the hyperlanes. Along with this, his office developed an entirely new class of ship, called a Titan. No Titan has yet been created, but 3 are planned in the next 10 years. These are truly spectacularly large ships with ten thousand crew members each. It is unclear whether the Titan is the super-weapon that Nikolaevich was working on.

pKPGk52.jpg

The Irassian homeworld is colonized with Awakened in 2365. The ancient and giant shipyards are put back into use.

TFOH6VC.jpg

The terraforming of Mars is completed in 2365, and humans begin the process of colonizing it. Because of the slightly cooler climate, woolly mammoths are revived from extinction and placed on the surface.

W8n0rVM.jpg

The Kirillian Empire successfully invades the Triad in 2367, taking a huge chunk of territory. The Triad is now split in 3, and it has gone from one of the most fearsome to one of the weakest empires on this side of the galaxy in less than a century.

DFWUwLj.jpg

A year later, the Cartel declares war on the Triad. They cite border skirmishes started by the Triad as justification for the invasion, but several Earth military advisers doubt the claims entirely. The Federation's closest ally appears to be a little too imperial for their liking, and relations worsen between the old friends.

rpLLNPM.jpg

President HistoryDude reveals his plans to his advisers: wiping out the pesky marauders on the Federation's border. 1st and 4th Fleets will enter their territory from one side, while 2nd and 3rd will come in from the other. Their combined strengths should be enough to destroy the multitude of bases and fleets present in the Rabinoc system. At the moment, the Yssravannar Reavers are fractured and warring, but there is no telling what they will do once the Federation invasion begins. In protest to the plans, the few Yssravannar leaders in the government and military resign their positions. They claim that the Yssravannar way of life is raiding and pillaging, and that the Federation has no right to destroy them for something they have been doing for millennia.

kiOqcFX.jpg

The first of the new breed of Titans is finished just in time for the invasion. It is called the Pegasus. It joins with 3rd Fleet, ready to take on the Yssravannars. A new Titan is planned for each fleet.

a2n6JgG.jpg

The invasion kicks off in 2369, and all four fleets jump into the system. The first few days are a blur of flashes and color, as hundreds of ships engage each other.

xbP0Moo.jpg

It is the largest space battle ever seen, and the first pirate station ignites in a nuclear blast that lights up the system for several days. Several pirate ships surrender in face of the destruction, but the white flags are ignored, and all are killed.

fDCW3wj.jpg

Eventually, only the massive Galleon-class pirate ship remains, but it too is surrounded and destroyed. Several dozen escape pods from the defeated enemy fleets are rounded up and their crews taken captive.

ugfhw66.jpg

The Detheris system is the next to be entered. This one will be much tougher, with 2 large pirate fleets, 3 galleons, and 7 stations. The 4 Federation fleets enter and engage in 2370.

zpJxXEU.jpg

8 Federation ships are lost and dozens of the pirate ships destroyed, the rest fleeing to their final system of Moscot. The Fleets remain in orbit around Detheris, while minor repairs are done. According to intel reports, the Yssravannar have done nothing to unite in face of the invaders, and they descend into even more chaos.

jZgFysl.jpg

Moscot system is host to one large pirate fleet, a galleon, 2 large bases, and a few asteroid bases. A few Federation ships are lost before the last of the pirates are defeated.

AzvUa1b.jpg

Several thousand pirates are taken prisoner, and the remaining survivors scatter as refugees throughout the galaxy. The Reavers are no more, and the Federation's borders are now safe.

ph5INJJ.jpg

The election of 2373 begins. There is a new party in the running called the Martial Supremacy Alliance, led by the general Obr-Pwot. He and the resigned Yssravannar leaders formed a political party after the destruction of the Reavers, based on the principles of galactic domination through force. At the moment, they barely garner support from 1% of the population.

XH3ZJVv.jpg

Josep HistoryDude wins another term as president, after his very successful decimation of the Yssravannar. The move, potentially controversial, was greatly supported by the general population of the Federation. They have no love for uncivilized raiders.

AcohTsg.jpg

The Thimoid Watchers approach Earth later that year. They have watched the Federation's attempts at artificial intelligence, such as the Think Tank and the Awakened, and they are not happy. They demand that the Federation ceases all creation of artificial intelligence and outlaw it throughout the empire. Earth rejects their demands immediately, angered at their pretense.

rGTt6Sd.jpg

Then, in 2374, in protest to Earth's use of AI, the Thimoid Watchers declare war.

CNIOfWC.jpg

Well, let's hope we can take on a Fallen Empire.

Also,I'll post a backstory sometime next week.

Also, the raiders had it coming...their way of life does not justify such actions!

Also, you never actually put my name on the Namelist on the first post...

The Federation having an alien ruler... I feel like its an inevitability, and one that would show we're true to our morals.

As for the Thimoid Watchers, I think we can win this! We will not be forced to abandon our AI brethren!

I have a bad feeling about this...

KEL: I don't understand. They're terrified of AI because of our superior nature, so declare war on a race with a vast AI led military and government advisory board already? These guys are idiots.

...
