A jeep maybe but for Humvees to exist TBC must have been so hard on the scientists that they invented tine travel, escaped to the eighties and then came back with a couple of these things.

Goddammit, nothing gets past you! I've learned something today

Trying to emulate the feeling of a hoiv player. 'Oh no, castille declared war. That's...irritating.' *kill*

Only they really are like pests becauss they're small but bloody everywhere.

It's gonna take ages to root them out from all their little islands...

How long will it take to start producing nukes in numbers. You will definitely need them for China and Russia. Make sure they can never make war again.

I made a ton of reactors the second I could. It won't take long. Just wait til next chapter, it's a doozy!

Chapter 16 - Apr 1945: The Beginning of the End

The US has 7 nuclear reactors throughout the country, working to build a deployable atomic bomb. It is estimated to take another 52 days to get the first one out.

Castille's last province in Iberia is taken in May, and the conquering armies, General BPM's 12th army, 8th Army, and 18th Army, are ordered to prepare for the invasion of Eretna. They will get a respite while the invasion is planned and prepared, then they will be thrust back into combat.

id7y4T1.jpg

Before Eretna is to be invaded, Castillian and Hungarian North Africa must fall. The invasion is set to begin on the 13th of May, and 19 Marine divisions will capture ports along the coast.

02Ve1rQ.jpg

North Africa is mysteriously unguarded, and the Marines make good progress in capturing coastline. Construction of new airbases begins in Libya, and the entirety of Stali North Africa is taken within weeks.

5jG0fbi.jpg

The air war turns sour for the Anglo Alliance. Hundreds of planes are shot down and, while the Stali Pact loses 2 planes for every 1 Anglo plane, their supply seems endless. The fighter reserves are down to 2.5 thousand as of June 15th. Even as thousands of Anglo troops die, tens of thousands of Stali troops are slain. 8 months into the war there have been 9 million deaths (2 million Anglo and 7 million Stali), an average of 37 thousand deaths a day.

President Eternien receives word that the first of the atomic bombs is complete on June 18th. Nicknamed "Chubby Chuck", the bomb is equivalent to 15 kilotons of TNT and weighs 4 tons. The bomb is loaded onto an aircraft carrier and carried across the Atlantic. At the moment, Moscow is the top target. It is politically and militarily significant, as the Russian government has been operating out of it since the fall of Stara Ladoga and the siege of Leningrad, and the top Russian military school and countless bases reside in the area. A nuclear blast there would deal a great blow to Russia. Population wise, 8 million civilians live in Moscow and the surrounding area, but scientists estimate that at least 200 thousand live in the blast radius of Chubby Chuck.

sOSe00e.jpg

The other targets considered include the significantly smaller city of Orel, which is fairly close to the front line with the UBP. Striking here would demonstrate the destructive powers of the nuclear bomb without killing hundreds of thousands.

But it will be another couple of weeks before the bomb is transported in range of any of the targets.

Then, on July 2nd at 1:24 PM, just as the bomb reaches the Baltic Sea, the US loses communication with Allenstein, where the plane carrying the bomb is meant to be launched from. It takes another hour before the report comes in. By a device unknown, the entire city of Allenstein has been destroyed, flattened to its foundations. Prime Minister Dillano's whereabouts are also unknown, and it appears that the entire government of the UBP was taken out in the explosion. Conservative estimates say around 150 thousand dead, twice that wounded. Towns as far as 150 miles away saw the light that lit up the sky.

Oe5paNu.jpg

President Eternien and those who are aware of the Boston Project know that only a nuclear weapon could deal such devastation. It is clear now that Russia has beaten the US in the nuclear race. The time to retaliate is now.

A man named Brunis Pumpurs is made temporary Prime Minister of UBP in this state of emergency, and he is made aware of the existence of the bomb. He wholeheartedly agrees with the deployment of Chubby Chuck, and the plane will now be launched from Konigsberg.

As the rescue and rebuilding efforts begin in Allenstein, Chubby Chuck is loaded onto the "Dillano", a Super Fortress named after the killed PM of the UBP. It takes off early, as the flight will be about 4 hours to Moscow. Also on the plane is a cameraman who will capture video and photographs of the event.

The bomb drops at 10 AM, and it falls for several miles. several hundred feet above the city, it detonates. The ancient and historical city of Moscow is blasted apart by the shock wave and fireball that follow, and even those well out of the blast radius feel the burn of radiation that will scar them for life.

The repercussions from this single week will be bigger than almost any other week in the history of mankind. This War of the World is now a nuclear war.

The men are relieved of the short rest. TBC is aggrieved the spanish papers can't seem to get his name right.

North Africa is mysteriously unguarded, and the Marines make good progress in capturing coastline. Construction of new airbases begins in Libya, and the entirety of Stali North Africa is taken within weeks.

Interesting but strategically, whilst it would slow down the amercian camapign to invade the balkans, it would be a waste of manpower for anyone who isn't russia, since there is no chance of relief or retreat.

President Eternien and those who are aware of the Boston Project know that only a nuclear weapon could deal such devastation. It is clear now that Russia has beaten the US in the nuclear race. The time to retaliate is now.

This is a crisis situation and thus a face to favr meeting between President and General occurs, under the cover of the former visiting victorious troops in Castille. After a very quiet but intense argument, the president backs down from his Dover assigned mandate for unrestricted nuclear bombardment, and TBC signs off on several strikes anyway, advising that dropping one on Moscow would either cow the Russians into not using the bombs again until they started seriously losing the war or, potentially more likely, invite a series of strikes against American frontlines. Thus the air war has suddenly become the most important area of war.

"I heard the news, and was suprised. Not that they had the bomb or that they had the devilry to use it but that they chose such a civillian target. Not only have they set the precident for mass slaughter but, with control of their own airspace failing, invite us to turn their largest cities to glass."

"I met with the president and was quite alarmed at how eager he was, or how eager the government was back home, to drop bombs willy nilly wherever and whenever any local commander requested. This I felt would be unwise in the extreme. Aside from anything else, the yield and size and heat of the explosions is beyond military experience. Bombing an enemy a mile away will also decimate our frontline.

No, we must be selective. If we are to use these weapons, and I suppose now we must, we should respond right at the heart of Russian lands to make their people see exactly who they are fighting. This is a new dictatorship in russia, and the grip over the country cannot yet be so tight that the populace cannot riot and despair if their cities begin to disappear. It may harden their resolve or not, but in this case we must respond in kind at least once. God help us, we must."

Given Russia probably hasn't industrialized as fast as the real life Soviet Union, and the US is still an industrial powerhouse, it's very likely the US will soon catch up.

Somehow, I feel this isn't going to end the war. We might be in for nuclear annihilation now...

Yes, even as the Anglo Alliance is absolutely destroying the Stali Pact in Europe, there are no winners when it comes to nukes.

Nukes on both sides is bad.

Not good at all. I made the mistake of not securing Air Superiority behind my lines.

Uh oh. I wasn't expecting the enemy to get nukes just as you did.

I wanted some challenge, so I made sure the enemy would at least research nukes. A few test playthroughs really early on showed that, for whatever reason, no country would research nuclear technology until no other technologies were left.

Interesting but strategically, whilst it would slow down the amercian camapign to invade the balkans, it would be a waste of manpower for anyone who isn't russia, since there is no chance of relief or retreat.

The Balkans invasion was planned when the push against Hungary was losing speed. Eventually, you'll see, the invasion is no longer needed.

Strange, Russia getting nukes before the US. Guess we better hope the US can out produce Russia on this one.

I'm pretty confident in the US's production power of nukes. We should be able to easily stockpile a bunch while Russia slowly builds more.

Given Russia probably hasn't industrialized as fast as the real life Soviet Union, and the US is still an industrial powerhouse, it's very likely the US will soon catch up.

Actually, after checking the last time I played (console <3), they've nearly filled every state's building capacity. They also had more factories than the US, although I'm not sure if that is still true.

Chapter 17 - Jul 1945: The Desolation of Eretna

It is not possible to keep the existence of nuclear weapons a secret. Very quickly, stories of the destruction of Moscow and Allenstein spread and become front-page news around the world. Strangely, the fact that the Russians struck first is a press and propaganda victory for the US. Their atomic strike is proclaimed a retaliation, rather than a preemptive strike. Both sides are now fully aware of the other side's capabilities. The race for more bombs is on, and the end of the world has never been closer.

Control of the skies is more paramount than ever, and the production of new fighters is prioritized. Now, the US churns out 16 new P-51 Mustangs every day.

The threat of more nuclear strikes fast-tracks the invasion of the Middle East, and it kicks off in mid July. It is quick and easy work for the veteran marines. Soon, a large foothold is taken, and more troops are sailed in.

x7jVwdK.jpg

Hungary begins to break apart against the endless pounding of Anglo troops, and soon the country is split in two. Thousands of enemies are cut off in a pocket around Vienna, and the vice begins to close.

2L5Uvv6.jpg

Invading the Middle East in the middle of the Summer becomes much more difficult as August begins and reinforcements from China and Eretna begin rolling onto the line against the Americans. The 1st Marines are told to hold the north line against Eretna as the rest of the Marines subdue the rest of the Castillian territories in the south.

vYuZEOa.jpg

General BPM, wildly popular among both civilians and military, is promoted and made commanding officer over all US troops in the Middle East (4th Group). His 12th army is reassigned to General James Manuel. With the progress made against Hungary and the close proximity of Anglo Troops to the Balkans, the invasion is cancelled. He then sets into motion Operation Bad News. The marines in the north will continue holding the line against Eretna, while the troops in the south, reinforced by the victorious troops from Iberia, will push into Castillian lands until the Euphrates River is reached. Then, they will loop around Qara Koyunlu and break the stalemate in the north.

SzzOqRC.jpg

The enormous pocket of Stali troops caused by the split in Hungary is closed in late August, and a staggering 400 thousand enemy troops are captured. It is the largest ever to surrender in modern warfare, and it is a huge blow against the Stali pact.

6d7aryd.jpg

The second bomb is completed in September. This bomb was nicknamed "Little Bugger" by its engineers. However, many in the administration protest against a second bomb. The first is seen by the world as retaliation against the Russians' bombing of Allenstein, but a second dropped without equal provocation may be viewed as an unnecessary crime against humanity. Many more argue for the drop, saying that already 15 million have died in the war, and that continued fighting will cause many more deaths than a couple of nukes. Facing overwhelming pressure from his advisers, Eternien agrees with the latter, and the next target is chosen: Istanbul.

Istanbul is a hugely important city for Eretna. While not the capital, it is the most populous and most prosperous. Nearly all of Russia's remaining ports are also located in the Black Sea, only accessible through the Bosphorus strait, which means destruction of Istanbul would impede a lot of the commerce and supply to Russia via the sea. Transporting the bomb to an airstrip within range of Eretna will take some weeks.

Iskender Pasha, the tyrant president of Eretna, is sent an ultimatum, demanding surrender. Even if just Eretna surrenders, it would be a victory for the US, and the bomb could be used elsewhere.

Castillian Middle East is fully taken by mid September. Now Eretna is the next target. The marines are sent to prepare to create beach heads in Central Eretna.

KpsF7ty.jpg

At the same time, Eretnid Greece is entered from the north. The momentum from the summer's offensive in Europe has cut straight through Hungary all the way to Eretna.

s0oMQ6p.jpg

Hungary capitulates on the 1st of October, just as the bomb is in place to launch against Eretna. However, Eternien hesitates before giving the order. The war is already so much in Anglo favor, and there is a chance the Russians are not able to make another bomb; their financial situation must be bad considering their losses in the war. Instead, a message is telegrammed to Kornilov, informing him of the US's continued nuclear capabilities, and demanding unconditional surrender. If Russia does not surrender by the end of October, another nuke will be dropped.

g08E55H.jpg

As Aleppo is taken, a large pocket of enemy troops is created and slowly suffocated. Further west, the first of the marines land in Central Eretna. reconnaissance flights over Thrace show that hundreds of thousands of Stali troops guard Istanbul and the surrounding area.

Nqown5Z.jpg

The US designs the first jet fighter on the 29th of October. It is called the P-80 Shooting Star. Although it has the same range as the P-51, its top speed is much higher, making it the better choice. Production of the model begins immediately.

lFSbH24.jpg

The deadline comes and goes and Kornilov does not respond to the demands. Iskender Pasha is also contacted again and surrender is demanded. Nothing. The second bomb, a more powerful one than the first, is loaded onto its delivery plane. To the south, the US troops in the west of Eretna are forced to stop the offensive as several Stali divisions arrive to defend the land.

6UtTKN9.jpg

At first light on the 7th of November, the plane takes off from Naples. It is a short flight before Istanbul is spotted. This time, it is not the barbarian Russians who the nuke is dropped on. This time, it is not a retaliation. The bomb hits with the force of 35 kilotons of TNT, obliterating the city center and wiping out a quarter million lives with it. The US troops just 200 miles from the blast see a slight brightening of the sky to the north west. The rest of the world will learn of what the US has done in the coming days, but the reaction will be much different from the last. There will be backlash.

Istanbul was a very poor choice given its historical significance and landmarks. The world will surely condemn the attack. A much better choice would have been the Russian oil industry around Baku or even Stalingrad or Sevastopol. I think you shot yourself in the foot with this one.

Both sides are now fully aware of the other side's capabilities. The race for more bombs is on, and the end of the world has never been closer.

TBC's doomsday projects are flushed with even more resources, scientists and poltcial backing to do anything to regain the initiative. In this respect, thankfully, the US is already ahead. Super fast planes and rocket technology will soon make A Bombs far easy to deploy and far easier to fire across the entire world.

Control of the skies is more paramount than ever, and the production of new fighters is prioritized. Now, the US churns out 16 new P-51 Mustangs every day.

The papers have begun to call this buildup the Arsenal of Democracy, thanks to some genius in the press office. For once, there are no strikes this month.

General TBC, wildly popular among both civilians and military, is promoted and made commanding officer over all US troops in the Middle East (4th Group).

'Another bloody desert' was his tagline this time, though in fairness his bluff public persona hides now very deep seated guilt over his secret work for american weapons of mass destruction.

Still, such a promotion finally gives him the puff to stand up to Dover far more effectively, and begin training a new generarion of army leaders in modern tank and combined arms warfare.

He then sets into motion Operation Bad News.

Heh. That got a chuckle out of me.

The enormous pocket of Stali troops caused by the split in Hungary is closed in late August, and a staggering 400 thousand enemy troops are captured. It is the largest ever to surrender in modern warfare, and it is a huge blow against the Stali pact.

'How the hell are we going to feed all these prisoners' becomes a very real issue in war torn europe with tight rationing for civilians already.

The second bomb is completed in September. This bomb was nicknamed "Little Bugger" by its engineers. However, many in the administration protest against a second bomb.

This is because of dedicated appeals from the bombs designers to Dover detailing exactly what would happen in the event of a nuclear war and how alarmingly powerful these bombs are getting as every week goes by.

Many more argue for the drop, saying that already 15 million have died in the war, and that continued fighting will cause many more deaths than a couple of nukes.

However, these arguments are being met with grear public and miltiary disaproval, especially from those in TBC's camp but also pretty much everyone on the european front who saw what happened when the russian bomb dropped.

Facing overwhelming pressure from his advisers, Eternien agrees with the latter, and the next target is chosen: Istanbul.

However, it is done without the approval and joint signature of General TBC, who not only did not sign but also veminently disagreed with the second bombing at this time. As the president himself put the safeguards in place it is not so much an illegal move as much as a deeply disturbing and dirty one. And one that would come back to haunt many governments but especially this one in the future.

Nearly all of Russia's remaining ports are also located in the Black Sea, only accessible through the Bosphorus strait, which means destruction of Istanbul would impede a lot of the commerce and supply to Russia via the sea.

This is both a really good target and also an awful one. Its great cos it bascially means no one can use the bosphorous at all for the next couple of months without dying and probably wont be able to use it for years.

However...well, this is only a good idea if russia was winning. They aren't and america has to clean up whatever messes they make after this war. This is an understandable move for the time (and game) but a very, very bad move long term.

Castillian Middle East is fully taken by mid September. Now Eretna is the next target. The marines are sent to prepare to create beach heads in Central Eretna.

TBC rushes into Anatolia to try to grab as much land as possible to continue the halt on future bomb drops. He is not aware that a bomb is already signed off on and prepping for dropping.

As Aleppo is taken, a large pocket of enemy troops is created and slowly suffocated. Further west, the first of the marines land in Central Eretna. reconnaissance flights over Thrace show that hundreds of thousands of Stali troops guard Istanbul and the surrounding area.

Here the US has come into its own in mobile warfare, tearing through enemy lines and rounding up many pockets of infantry before moving on to do it again before the enemy can even react. But even with all that, progress is still too slow and too manu lives are lost. The east is simply too big to win a war quickly and cleanly.

The US designs the first jet fighter

A great success and joint effort by doomsday workers and the airforce.

To the south, the US troops in the west of Eretna are forced to stop the offensive as several Stali divisions arrive to defend the land.

Officially. Unofficially, TBC at this time somehow gets ahold of secret information warning him about the nuke. He immediatly halts the advance and attempts to contact military high command. When this proves unsuccessful he sends the infamous encoded telegram to the two other campaign leaders in Europe advising them of the drop. He then calls for a press confrence asap.

"I now embark upon something which may well see me shot for treason. This bombing has been ordered and must therefore be carried out. I shall not put pilots at risk by revealing the target beforehand. However, after confirmation from my sources or scouting planes now looking to see operational success, I will denounce the bombing for what it was, poltical cowardice and murder. I shall if pressed then suggest the president broke procedures in ordering a second, unnecessary bomb and mudt personally be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands he just killed.

How has it come to this? I've spent my life in this uniform. I've strained and sacraficed much to get my stars and my military honour, all in service of this country.

...they'll take it all away, at best. They will probably try to have me courtmartialled too. Possibly after the war, although the way things are going they may well come for me right after the press release.

But I must do it. How could I not? To do otherwise is to turn my back on such outrage and war crimes that would stain our nation for centuries to come. No...even if I go to prison for the rest of my life, even if I never see my home or wife again, I need to do this.

God bless these United States. God have mercy on me."

-5* General TBC, commander of the 4th Group

The US troops just 200 miles from the blast see a slight brightening of the sky to the north west. The rest of the world will learn of what the US has done in the coming days, but the reaction will be much different from the last. There will be backlash.

General TBC's revelations swiftly escalated the general discontent over the bombing to outright horror from America's allies and outrage within the US. Whilst most left wing papers and societies decried TBC as a bloodstained murderer in league with abhorrent political maniacs, the majority of the international press and the allied military closed ranks around the whistleblower and one of the great heroes of the war. However, it was a very chaotic few hours and no one truly knew how the Americans were going to react, both the public and the establishment.

What had been made clear was that it was simply unacceptable for a democracy and civilised nation to launch a nuclear attack unprovoked.

Istanbul was a very poor choice given its historical significance and landmarks. The world will surely condemn the attack. A much better choice would have been the Russian oil industry around Baku or even Stalingrad or Sevastopol. I think you shot yourself in the foot with this one.

We'll see.

We shall.

It will have some bad repercussions, believe me.

A backlash... I wonder if America will win the war, but ruin their global standing among their allies.

That's the way it is looking so far.

We'll probably want a new president in a few days...

The American people and the rest of the world will be holding Eternien responsible for this.

Chapter 18 - Nov 1945: That Thursday of Terror

With news of the bombing of Istanbul circling the globe, support for the war dwindles in many allied nations. Terres du Nord, Canada, and the Dominican Republic, all three of which have contributed next to no lives to the war, and thus do not understand fully the horrors of the frontlines of Europe, protest against the war, threatening to pull out of the war. None of them go through with it; the US, with its nuclear arms and now massive army, is the most fearsome force the world has ever seen, and being in their Anglo Alliance is guaranteed protection. For now, they remain in the alliance.

The American people are less impressed with Eternien. Many do not care about a city thousands of miles from them, but many others reject the deplorable idea of destroying an entire ancient city. The media has a field day against Eternien, and several prominent opponents demand his resignation or call for his impeachment, something that has never happened before in US history. His approval ratings hit a low of 24%, something else that has never happened before. General TBC, one of those most fiercely against the bombing, is relieved of command after very publicly denouncing it and refusing the orders to continue pushing onward. In his stead is General Forster, former commander of 4th Mobile Army.

Even as Istanbul still smolders, a third bomb is in production. The Stali Pact has also been messaged again, demanding surrender and saying a third strike is imminent if surrender does not come soon. The earliest date of the next strike is set to be New Years day, 1946. President Kornilov does not respond to the demands. Although he faces riots and calls for peace in Russia, he and the Chinese Prime Minister do not plan on losing this war, as badly as it seems to be going for them. Kornilov hosts a Stali Convention in Novosibirsk with the remaining Stali members except Eretna's President Pasha.

The push into Stali territory continues. Eretna is in disarray after the strike, and they face several mutinies within their ranks. Their front begins to collapse and Anglo troops push northward. Even though it looks like Russia and Eretna are not able to defend against the Anglos, the issue of China is still at the back of everyone's mind. This war has claimed millions, not even counting civilian casualties. China, the most populated country on earth, will surely be carnage on a whole other scale.

PtlC1EB.jpg

In Australia, Haiti and Britain have taken the main island from the Stali and have invaded New Zealand, which was taken by Castille many months ago. Castillian New Guinea is invaded by Haiti, leaving very little territory left to Castille.

iXXAEoR.jpg

The Kenyan government, providing only material aid to the Stali Pact, sends an encoded message to President Eternien and the US government. They do not want to support the losing side any longer. Kenya will leave the Stali Pact and join the Anglo Alliance. Their price, Haitian Somaliland and the Castillian Indian Ocean islands, once the war is over. Haiti will not be happy about losing Somaliland, but other colonial gains in the war will satisfy them. Eternien is in agreement, and the Swahili join the war.

Ll0GVuR.jpg

Eretna capitulates on the 16th of November. Americans arrive in their capital of Eskishehir to find a horrifying scene; President Pasha was hanging above the parliament building, his body burned. His own people, it seems, learned of the ignored ultimatum he received and revolted. They dragged him and his house members from the parliament and killed them in the street. Now only Sweden stands with Russia in the west. One by one, the Stali nations are falling before the might of the Anglo military forces.

HGbOkoN.jpg

The first squadron of P-80 jet fighters are ready for combat on the 18th, and they are sent to assist in the air battle of Ukraine. So far, Russia has maintained air superiority over the area, and the fighters present have been struggling. This will be the first test of jet engine technology in warfare.

The Caucasus region is lightly guarded by Russian and Chinese soldiers, and the front is quickly expanded. Now, Russia is fighting a war of two fronts.

wqCx1pB.jpg

Castille surrenders at last as their defunct capital in New Zealand is taken by the British. Russia, China, Sweden, and the newly independent Korea are all that remain.

V36phiv.jpg

By this point, about 13 months into the war, 18 million soldiers have died, across 4 different continents. The world war seems far from over, with the vast stretches of the Russian motherland still to conquer. The Russian winter begins setting in, and tanks and trucks find it less easy to maneuver as mud replaces the dirt of the inner Russian roads. The same goes for the Swedish and Hungarian fronts. Only the Caucasian front is still making steady progress.

Since there is no longer any requirement for naval invasions in Europe, the Marines are moved to British India to prepare for the invasion of Indochina. General Zen is given command of all forces to be involved in the invasion. A passage from a letter he sent to President Eternien prior to the appointment read:

"China will be expecting an attack from their east coast, given the proximity of the Philippines. What must be done now is a feint move in the east to draw their attention from Indochina and allow our troops quick access to the southern Chinese territories. From there, China's soft underbelly will be easily cut through."
-General Phoenix Zen, 4th Marine Army

Convoys with no troops begin sailing between Hawaii and the Philippines, in an attempt to trick the Chinese into thinking that mass amounts of troops are being moves into position to invade East Asia.

The first day of 1946 blooms bright and freezing cold on the Russian front.

By this time, 3 new bombs are ready to be deployed. The next target is chosen: the Chinese city of Hong Kong. It is time that the Chinese feel the heat of the bomb on their own soil, Eternien says. Perhaps this will convince them to sue for peace. His advisers urge him, this time, to wait. The American people are still adamantly against any more nuclear strikes after Istanbul, and dropping another could mean riots or impeachment.

On the 2nd of January, in a truly perplexing move, the US government, Britain, and the Teutonic Order receive telegrams from the Stali Pact, telling them to surrender. The Anglo nations disregard the demands without a thought.

Then, the next day, the Stali intention becomes clear. Manila is obliterated in a blinding flash of light from the 50 kiloton bomb dropped from the Chinese bomber. 25 thousand Americans, 1300 of them soldiers, and 120 thousand natives are killed by the blast and the subsequent fire. China is now a nuclear armed nation. An hour later, Copenhagen is hit with an equally strong Russian bomb, and 95 thousand British citizens and 2000 British troops are killed.

I might have missed the explosion in this screenshot :/

That Thursday of Terror ends with 250 thousand dead Anglo troops and citizens. A telegram is sent to the US government from Russia, offering a meeting between their presidents in a neutral nation to discuss terms of peace or, at the very least, an end to the use of nuclear weapons in the war. Kornilov claims to have several more bombs on the way, both in Russia and in China.

It comes time for Congress to decide on the next move. It is time to vote.

A) Agree to the meeting
B) Decline the meeting and nuke China
C) Decline the meeting, but do not drop any more nukes.

Just comment and make sure it is obvious which choice you prefer. This vote will end at 11 PM EST the 27th of January. Let me tell you, this vote will decide a lot of what will happen in the coming chapters.

B, and get more reactors up and running. China at least deserves one nuke as payback. The only peace we should accept is one where we keep what we have already captured.
Is there any intelligence on where the Stali reactors are? Seems to me they would be excellent nuke targets.

B, definitely. Freedom has hitherto been limited to being propelled through the barrel of the gun, but it can now be propagated en masse through the power of the atomic bomb. Hong Kong needs freedom.
Also, if you decide to do a Stellaris chapter, Earth tomb world would be cool.
