Well, I am sure that if Mantua gains too much power then others will figure out a way to stop him. What I can see is that Barca is a little better on diplo. I belive (I my be wrong but don't think so) that he is financing Bosnia in huge part. The fact that Bosnia was able to construct 13 manuf. (all wepons btw) would suggest such a thing.

Also he did forsee that you will attack him and asked me for help even before war started. At that time I refused his offer (which was good). During the war I noticed that he was winning so when he give his offer one more time I agreed (there was no offers from your allince  ). During the war he financed my quite a lot which I used to upgrade forts and build more troops. He is very rich and willing to spend some cash to keep some players happy.

I am sure that Bar, Cat or Nav can use their cash to such efforts as well. I see too rich powers in europe. Man-Bosnia and Bar, Lor, Nav. They were evenly mached till last war. Now they need to think a little outside the box and invest in poor Pom-Mol allince. We are too week to attack any of the 2 powers but we may change balance of power if we decide to join the conflict on one side. Dead is colonizing Siberia and I need to finish Scandinavia. Not much intrest for us to join the war, but if the offer is good.......we may. I agree that it is more beneficial for Bar-Lor to invest in Moldavia development to keep Bosnia in check than for Mantua. At the same time I do not think that attacking (Pom-Mol) would be good for any of the powers. If Mantua attacks me then the other powers would be creazy to let that slide. The same for Bar.

It is good to be the weekest nation. :)

Well, that will lower the stab cost but it will lower income too. So would it not be the same? The idea of 800 per stab point is very tempting....

Well, think of all the money you are wasting by having to invest in raising stab + all the money you are losing by having low stab + all the traders you are losing because of low stab. I don't know if it is worth it or not but I am startng to get tired of this low stab thingy, plus all those -2 and -3 events I get several times in a session.

High serfdom adds more potential -stab events though so you have to be careful.

Also CC in regards to no one ever catching up to me, its the other way around. If you look at the stats my tradetech is almost maxed, I have built as many manu's as are reasonably profitable, and there is little good land left for me to colonise. My income will grow some, but not significantly. Now you look at Habs or Spec. They have half my manu's and considerably lower tradetech. You guys were beating us handily even without Esco's help before PP joined in. Certainly Mantua has reached her peak and has only downward to fall.

Barca, about high serfdom, that might be true. However, I think the game has been designed so high serfdom is almost a must for eastern powers, like russia, OE, poland, etc. In those you usually accumulate more poor provinces. More provinces rises your cost.

I would definately go high serfdom if I was having trouble with stabcosts, but I'm just saying there are some drawbacks.

A good war so far but I am somewhat disappointed in PP going back on his word, especially after I sent him some of the money.

I must confess that these world wars are becoming annoying, I believe in limited wars for limited gains. A 2v2 with Mantua/Bosnia vs Navarra/Cat gives us a Manpower and income advantage, but they are on defensive. When Habs joined (not unexpected) it was basically fair. With PP joining it puts us on the defensive, and with CC coming back next week that makes it 5vs2 and an almost unwinnable war. It will certainly be fun to try next week though, I hope everyone can make it.

Edit: I would also like all of Mantua's treasury edited to Bosnia daed.

Well there's little point to fighting a "limited war" that cannot possibly be won. It is not my fault that you insist on attacking nations obviously lower than you on the power ladder (the naval balance being such that you have a virtual monopoly) with the objective of gaining even more income/power/influence. It seems to me you just want wars where only your enemy is disadvantaged :D

Please, Navarra/Catalunya/Brabant vs Mantua/Bosnia (who can only reach North Africa) on the defensive is some kind of overwhelming advantage? You give me too much credit.

And the naval monopoly is who's fault? I spent nearly five years worth of minting to bring my navy up to par, you chose to invest in something else. If you want to have overseas possessions you should invest in a navy. If you only have one province in the far east and no navy how can you expect to defend it? Between you and Brabant you could have at least a decent navy capable of fighting mine in your home waters. It should also be noted that my naval "monopoly" lost 3 battles to Hab's fleet alone.
