Ok, a discussion needs to be started over my Kingdoms major failings that became apparent last session.

My core provinces are so shitty that in a prolonged war, not of my making, I was unable at the end to raise troops.

I, literally, spent 10-15 years of the last session only able to recruit 3-4K per year, for the ENTIRE country, not 3-4K per province.

I am not an expert, so do not know the best way to correct this issue.

I don't mind losing battles or wars but when I am in battle with 6-7 countries with ALL my manpower but no way to access it, it becomes frustrating and boring.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. I can conscript 7k only in MY capitol and Brandenburg. (only when I have +3 stab) the rest is 2,3 or 4k per province. It is enoying when you have 60k MP but can't use it. Yesterday I was not conscripting a lot do to high WE after 18 years of war :) But I agre with you that you are in bad shape :) worse than me he he he

Of course, the other issue I had was that I took four or five tax value hits, just not sure which provinces.

I hate those damn events that don't give you an option if you want the hit or something else bad instead.

So, that took down some of my recruitment.

The options I was thinking about, is moving my Capital or adding a culture?

If my Capital got placed in a better province, that should at least guarentee one province able to produce troops.

Also, I own a ton of Turkish culture provinces, would it help them produce troops if I gained it? Or, is that just related to religion? (I forget)

Turkish would make more sense than Italian, I don't think I have any Italian or if I do, maybe just one or two.

Just some thoughts...

Ability to raise troops is determined by tax value and maybe core status (i'm not sure about that one). So you would have a higher tax value and therefore able to build more troops if you had Turkish culture.

Average base tax values:

Bosnia = 5.88 with 14 wrong religion provinces.
Moldavia = 5.42 with 7 wrong religion provinces.
Pommern = 7.81 * with 0 wrong religion provinces.
Lorraine = 9.66 with 0 wrong religion provinces.
Brabant = 12.13 with 0 wrong religion provinces.
Mantua = 8.78 with 1 wrong religion province.
Navarra = 8.90 with 1 wrong religion province
Catalunya = 7.10 with 3 wrong religion provinces.

Bosnia's experience with high RR and inability to recruit troops last session prompted me to average these. IMO Bosnia and Moldovia need either some free conversions or some increased tax value. Giving them Catholic religion might have been a bad idea, as most of the provinces with their cultures aren't Catholic.

*Karkow is currently at 0 base tax which might or might not be edited up.

Edit: These values may contain errors, I was in a bit of a hurry.

It's also worth pointing out that bosnia has italian culture, which is mostly very rich provinces, although totally monopilized by Mantua.
I think adding a new culture to Bosnia will damage Moldavia even more. I have not doubt in my mind that Moldavia is the weakest country in the game, even at full potential. However, I do still see chance for my country to be a player in Europe, not as a stand alone, but as part of an alliance.

The way the game is set up bosnia doesn't really have a shot at any Italian provinces except maybe Istria. Any others are blocked off by Mantua's starting provinces. But my point was that both of you need a boost. Originally it was balanced because we had more player nations in western europe, so there would be more competition, but we dropped two of those so the western nations really have an advantage.

I have seen other games use Aboriginal as the primary culture of all player countries, so all colonies have the same culture. This creates a more dynamic colonial scene IMO. Any thoughts on this?

Well colonies changes culture after captured from a enemy, so the dynamic is somewhat there.

Another point is that several people will be missing some session this month. Do we want to decide which friday we want to take off?

Hopefully I don't have any more commitments this month, so I am pretty open to any date.

Only colonies under 5000 population chang culture, and thats only if they stay under 5000 population until nationalism ends.
