I just crashed to desktop 4 times in 10 minutes of play. I had experienced a few other crashes during this playthrough, which is my first playthrough in a month or two. This crashes seem to occur randomly i.e. it is not the autosave bug.

After some reading, I found that there is another crash bug involving patricians and retinues. How do I see if this is what is affecting me, and if this is the problem how can it be corrected?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I am using no mods, and all main DLC except Sunset Invasion. Here is an example crash log, though I can offer many more like it.

Is this only happening since 1.092 got applied? Was it shortly after starting a new game, or were you picking up and old (even pre-1.092) game?

Generally speaking it will tend to happen more later in the game.

you can play without the Republic DLC loaded. You can load the save game as a Republic, and if your patrician has no heir dismiss his retinues. You can ask in User Mods how to edit his retinues out of the save game.

Yes, I never had this in the past. I guess I am kind of late to the party, but this is my first long game since that patch. This game was begun under 1.092, not a load of a previous version.

Generally speaking it will tend to happen more later in the game.

I had a few CTDs earlier in the game, but the unplayably frequent crashes that prompted me to post here didn't start until the early 1300s. Tonight I will investigate disbanding the retinues. Thank you for the reply.

That problem will be fixed in 1.10, just so you know. But there's no 100% guarantee that a game started 1.092 will work flawlessly under 1.10, so you might want to either finish up or abandon this game when that comes out. Or you can copy your current CK2 installation out from under Steam to elsewhere, so when Steam auto-updates you to 1.10 you'll still have a 1.092 installation to play this particular game on.
