The Americans love to joke about the list of French military defeats. Well, without the French they would've still be singing "God Save the Queen" before every baseball game. Not to mention much of Europe singing "Deutschland uber alles".

Yup, you guessed it, BeBro's infantry sprite for France is ready. Sure, it's the good ol' WWI blue-grey uniform rather than the - slightly different 1940 one. However, for some strange reason the latter did not become as iconic... Anyway, he's armed with a Lebel rifle and is wearing the famous Adrian helmet.

BTW, if you look at Liechtenstein, you'll see a preview of a generic infantry sprite for the minors. :)
Cheers

Why is the unit in Metz riding a broomstick?
Reims to I think.
Ever tried to run with a WWI rifle in your hands? :D But seriously, if you still don't know - run the sprite in-game. You'll understand.

Dear, oh my dear, you are totally confuse about the time frame!!

that kind of tank (it really existed in the french army) was during the algerian war (end of 50', early 60').

I believe it was or an panhard, or an early AMX, it had 2 drivers, the concept was 'fire and forget', mean goes to position, shot, then go back. The conceptwas trully interesting (read worked well) for soft war scenario; neverless as uncle Sam asked france to provide 14 divisions for europe main land (algeria was technically a part of france, not a colony; that is why I precise mainland), and those tanks were kind of useless for the US doctrine at that time, only few regiments were equiped (not only it was 14 divisions to build for europe, but France had to use US tanks and artillery - namely 105 hm2 trackted or on tank hull).

That is for the french tank working best in reverse :p

Well, the joke about French tanks having 1 forward gear and 4 reverse was somehow popular already during WWII, at least here in Poland, so it's not so after-warish at all.

So that is the same kind of joke that the one about the polish lancers charging the Pzkw II (historically they did charge the supporting infantery, did they?). It make the younglings laught, but are not accurate nor historic.
