That's a total misconception about Québec. Canada has a lot of snow, but Québec not that much really. For example, let's take Montréal (wich is in Hochelaga in EU 2) it's cold in the winter (gets rarely lower than -20 degrees Celsius, normal temperature are -15 in January). In the summer, though it often gets to 30 + degrees Celsius (normal are about 28 degrees). Since the weather is humid, we get this really big difference of weather in between the 2 seasons. The thing is, Montréal is REALLY not that different than Boston or New York weather wise...
By the way France never did OWN Antigua. It's not even a french name, it's a spanish one. Dominica isn't french either... in french it's Dominique.

No, they didn´t own Antigua, but i think they settled in St. Kitts

And yes before global warming the winters were much worse, and it snowed in October. And yes it is nice that you have snow for Christmas.
