Freeze and PC restarts

Hello,

I am having this issue since i updated to 1.0.2 (did not have this in the beta version). i play imperator for like 30 min or so and then the PC Freezes and restarts. I am only having this issue with this game. checked the event viewer Event ID 10016 pops up Distributed COM. any clue what i should do? i checked the files nothing came up.

Freezing and restarting issues went away for me personally by playing in borderless window mode instead of fullscreen. Select this by the launcher before you start the game.
I'm not an expert, just a simple user, but as far as I know is the Distributed COM a common Win error in event viewer for multiple users, not related to Imperator Rome.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/pdx_settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Just posting to add that I had been getting nasty freezes, generally within 5 mins of starting to play with I:R from 1.01 onwards (never had a problem in 1.00 for 20 hours playing) and switching to borderless windowed mode seems to have fixed it. Had a couple of hour plus game sessions without a crash now.

Not sure if it made a diff but had the game running while i did this was trying to advance my save a bit. Most of the time the game crashes after 20-30 min of game play a couple of times it crashed right away.

I was playing on window mode myself. tried full screen and window mode again still crashed!

How will i know if it is a hardware problem? i did what u said it said it replaced some files but did not have time to check the game i had to go to work. for the record i did not have this issue before the last update!

In short, there is no 100% way to show that. I guess it's a combination of eliminating other possible sources, the nature of the symptoms, and the errors you are seeing.

Well i think the answer is no i am using a TP link adapter through the power outlet!!! My main issue here is that it seems to be only in IR so far but i will have to check other games again. You have anything in mind?

Well, not really honestly, but most common cause of the WUDFHostProblem (multiple entries in your DXDIAG) are caused by wrong wirleless driver I read in WOW forums and some Google searches.

A frind of mine at work that works in programming suggested to look at the drivers if the scannnow above did not fix the problem. I will let you know if i fix it at the end or not

@AndrewT Well i tried a lot of things none seem to work. i played stellaris for 45 min no prob game crashed 5 min in imperator save. SO i went to beta 1.0.1 then abck to BETA 1.0.2
and now no crashes in the beta!! pretty happy i can play now even on the beta any clue why?

@AndrewT well 1.0.3 is running fine atm! not sure what changed. i have some windows updates also last night! that might have helped. anyway i am trying to mark as resolved does not let me!
