Early August, 2021: SCO Strategy Conference
Astana, Kazakh Autonomous Republic, Russia
"Thousands of men lost! Hundreds of tanks and vehicles! I still can't understand how you can sit there and continue to look so confident after this latest disaster!" boomed one of the members of the Russian delegation. Xiao Ri had heard alot of these outbursts as of late and it was beginning to try his patience. "How are we ever going to win this war if we keep suffering defeats like the one in Japan! Your foolish strategy has led us to disaster time and time again!"
"What happened in Japan was but a minor setback on the road to victory." Xiao replied. "While I accept that perhaps we had....underestimated the resolve of the Americans and their allies, there is no need for such apocalyptic statements! This war is far from being over, and if you will refrain from letting despair cloud your judgeme-"
"Underestimated?!?!" The member of the Russian delegation shouted again. "Is that what you call it! Our best fleets destroyed, our armies in the America's, Africa, Japan, and Britain wiped out! Many of our puppets and allies now little more than refuges in our borders or prisoners of the Americans! And whats worse, is the rearmament of both Britain and Japan, two more major powers which will soon be ready to make war against us! I would not call that underestimation, but a disaster!"
"General Kosygin!" Shouted the Russian President. "You will cease these outbursts at once, and allow our Chinese allies to explain our strategy going forward! Many of our people have fought and died to bring us this far, I will not allow their deaths to have been in vain! Now, Chairman Xiao, please continue." General Kosygin looked ready to keep up his arguing, but he then proceeded to keep quiet as the other members of the Russian delegation stared him down. Xiao looked around the room, and couldn't help but notice some of the nervous expressions coming from some of the member's delegations.
"This bickering is pointless!" Xiao declared. "We have suffered losses, but where those troops have fallen, we have many millions more ready to replace them. And do not forget, that from here on, the enemy will have to fight on our terms now." Several delegations nodded in approval. "Up until now, we have been fighting the kind of war that the enemy fights: far overseas, with large expeditionary forces away from their homelands. We had succeeded far beyond what was thought possible until our fortunes in America turned against us. Now the enemy enjoys a great advantage in terms of ships and positioning towards us. But, they cannot beat our alliance with ships alone."
He continued. "The SCO controls the entire landmass of Eurasia, with the exception of course of those broken wastelands in India and the Middle East. The Americans cannot wait us out, or blockade us. To win, the enemy will have to land an army on Eurasia and fight us on the ground. It is here, that we will crush them. Our armies vastly outnumber the Americans, they will need to throw their full force against us to have any chance of success, and when they do we will meet them head on and wipe them out. When we do, we will break their ability to wage war against us, and leave them no choice but to sue for peace."
A member of the North Korean delegation now spoke. "Our glorious nation and our Dear Leader will fight alongside our valiant allies to crush the American capitalist hordes and their puppets! With our combined strength the enemy will not stand a chance against our valiant armies!" Xiao always appreciated the zeal of his North Korean allies. A round of applause rose up from the delegations, if there was still any dissent, it was well hidden now. Xiao was now more than confident in the success of the SCO, when the Americans come, they would be ready for them....
