1) I never said anything about this being a national or regional issue. Read the response more carefully in the future.

2) I never said anything about part-time vs full-time either. A person can hold a full-time temporary or seasonal position.

3) This is simply false. Layoffs normally follow the establishment/raising of a minimum wage. That's a fact. One Unions like to gloss over in their claims to support workers. This is not a way to legalize slavery. And I never said I was against a minimum wage in most labor. I said that your proposal is too draconian because it includes sectors of the economy typically EXCLUDED by "civilized society," for the reason Mr Petrarca noted, commission and tips are not regulated income.

Please refrain from demogoguery in our HQ, as well. If you want to ask questions, ask them. But do not rail on us for disagreeing with you in our own HQ. Also please note that a party HQ is not to be turned into your own NGO's stomping ground. You are a guest here. Please act civilly and respect the fact that we have other things to do, as there is an election in progress.

To FR members:

As things stand now, we stand a good chance of getting all 6 members into Parliament+ winning the Presidency. If this is so, we will need to appoint a replacement for Mr Jacob-Lundgren, who cannot serve as an MP and President at the same time.;)

Good problem to have. But we will need a nominee for the final position. If anyone not currently an MP nominee desires to serve, please feel free to volunteer. Thank You.

1) That is true, I really didn't read it properlly. So I apoligize

2) Was you can read I din't talk about full-time vs part-time jobs

3) Sorry but what is False??
I said this can legalize slavery, because I consider that a worker that work "like a dog" 7 day a week, only resieves 100 ducats and many time don't resive ANY money. When he try to talk to the autorities they can't. That is for me is slavery.
For example: In Portugal many East European people come there to work and that many times happen. And with a minimum Wage many of this things can end.
I really would like to think that only existed good people but that don't happen and we need to stop them from hurting the workers

But the tips aren't obrigatory were in EUtopia like in the USA.
And comission are different.

4) I would like to know were I made "demogoguery" ??? ( This is a true question not a ironical one )
I also must say that I don't what to make this HQ in my stomping ground
If I ofend and/or derespect any of you I apoligize.

And I would like that you if you whant to answer were and if you whant to continue our chat in my NGO HQ.

On point 2, You said "we are not against part-time," part-time is a different question from temporary/seasonal help.

3) Tips aren't obligatory ANYWHERE. But they are considered good manners for good service in every country I've been in. If a server is too poor to earn tips, that individual is in the wrong profession. And subsidizes poor service isn't a good policy.

Commission isn't different. It's a wage based on performance. It's not uncommon for people to work 50-60 hours a week when they start a commission-based job and get nothing. But on the other hand, if they are successful, their wages are very good. Same concept, productivity is to be rewarded. Lack thereof should be a sign to find another job, not subsidized.

And it was false of you to say that businesses won't lay employees off when a minimum wage goes into effect. EVERY time a minimum wage is instated/raised, employees are terminated. It's a simple economic fact related to raising the marginal cost of doing business.

It isn't slavery to work for a low wage. That is demogoguery. If you think the conditions are bad or wages too low in a particular venue, organize the labor so they can defend themselves. We are not against a general minimum wage for those who work in or for government (including government contractors). Nor am I personally against a minimum wage bill which recognizes the exceptions I made previously. But an across-the-board minimum wage is a bad idea.

Yes, I would prefer further discussion on this be conducted at the ECL.

Dear sir:

If it is necessary, I am willing to take Mr. Lundgren's place on our parliamentary ballot. I am in retirement at the moment and have nothing better to do, and should you need me I am ready to assist.

Mr Coveilha,

On behalf of the FR, I expect an apology for your out-of-line and uncalled for remarks in the LD HQ. I carried on a long and civil discussion in our HQ with Mr Vasco regarding the minimum wage plank of your proposal, and said I would continue it here on that or other issues IF HE WISHED. He did not post any further material for me to comment on, so it is HIM who broke off the dialogue.

I have neither "ignored" nor "insulted" you. I guess if one doesn't kowtow to the Union, they are insulting them in your mind, but I did no such thing.

If you do not apologize for this publically both in our HQ and the HQ of the party this occurred in, I will be sure to take note of it in negotiations with your body in the future. We're quite aware that you are committed to the left politically, but if you cannot maintain civility and accuracy in your comments, you destroy what little credibility you have built up. In the future, check your facts.

Most Sincerely
Sean Galloglaigh
Mr Galloglaigh

I sincerely apologize for having said that you ignored us. I read only casually your HQ (hey, I'm not supposed to), and I never took notice of your interest. It's the same with the LD : if you want to show your interest in our activities, why don't you come in here? Mr IKK and I did make the promotion of our platform in the EUtopian media and the parties HQs. I even asked by pm your newspaper to publish an announcement regarding this platform. It has never been published. (Or would I be wrong once again?). I regret that on the contrary the Voice of the Republic has immediately put this ridiculous polemic on the forefront.

Most of the time, it has been to the ECL to invite himself in the parties HQ. We expect that we will have more consideration in the future
Now I know that I was wrong about your lack of interest. There is one thing that the ECL shouldn't do : it is to break any talks for shallow reasons.
I expect that in the future we will publicly show our common interest in the social and economical affairs of EUtopia, and will be able to work together for the benefit of the workers. Hopefully, this little polemic will finally give a positive outcome

Most sincerely
P. Coveilha, ECL General Secretary

Apology accepted. We did not print it in the VoR because we did not have the time to respond to the whole of the platform, especially as we were involved in discussions with other organizations at the same time. Also I was not acting as editor-in-chief at the time.

You are free to read any HQ thread, btw. You're simply not supposed to post in them excessively.

BTW, fellow FR members, I really will not have the time to be editor-in-chief. party chair, and MP all at once post-election. I never intended to be editor-in-chief in any case. From what I gathered, Mr Petrarca is no longer interested in Editor-in-Chief duties. (If this is in error, Mr Petrarca, please stop me, as I received this 2nd hand.) If there is a party member willing to take over those duties, that position is open.

To whom it may concern,

as you may have noticed, official results of the first Eutopian elections have been announced. Please be advised that your party won 6 seats in Parliament. Since Mr. jacob-Lundgren was elected as President, your party list currently only lists 5 candidates. Please amend your party list by submitting additional candidates (in rank order) to the CRO-office by December 23, 23:59 (= 11:59 pm) GMT. If your party is unable to fill its sixth seat by that date, that seat will be considered vacant for the duration of the First Parliament.

Yours sincerely,
CRO-office

As the election returns seem to reach a decisive tally, it would appear that we, gentlemen, are triumphant! By what preliminary calculations the CRO has issued, we may expect a singular seat majority in Parliament, with the Liberal Democrats a decisive swing vote which could easily, on issues, place the Rally for Democracy in equal opposition.

It goes without saying that we have one hell of a job ahead of us, formulating a concise and functional strategy for our Parliamentary agenda. We have by no means a comfortable majority, and it will require a willingness to compromise and entertain the issues from the viewpoints of those to whom we might otherwise be diametrically opposed.

But, for now, certain celebration is in order. Congratulations, and let's shape for Eutopia a democratic future, based upon a precedent of partnership and cooperation, both with regards to the harmony of our own party, and its relationship with our contemporaries in government.

Congratulations fellow FR members! A stunning victory. Thank you all for your efforts. (cheers)

Mr Morgan has been appointed to fill Mr Lundgren's Parliament seat, as Mr Lundgren will have executive duties to perform instead (cheers and hurrahs, j-l stands and waves).

Congratulations to our worthy opponents in the election, the RD. (polite applause). Thanks to all the independant voters and the voters of the LP and the RP who made our victory possible as well (cheers). It is my hope as well that we can continue the cordial relations that marked the weeks prior to the election with the RD.

On this point we have several issues to address. What is the will of the party on how we should govern? Should we form a unity coalition or not? Your feedback on this matter is necessary in a prompt matter, as it will affect how the cabinet is formed.

Mr President, the Cabinet is yours to select. I would be willing to serve as Speaker, if you so desire. I am at your disposal to aid in cabinet appointments. For the sake of expediting matters, I will verify that if we desire, coalition arrangements can still exist. But I will not offer anything concretely until the will of the party is clear.

Thank you and enjoy this evening.

I don't think it is in our best intrest to for a strong majority with the RD if we can get the LD to join in for not to many consessions then fine but we need debate to :)
A problem we have is to fill the cabinet.
You can't be in the cabinet and the parliment.
