Mr VM,

Welcome to the Free Republican Party. Are there any areas of interest you might have? Also, what is your opinion on FR/RD relations? Thank you for your interest.

Sean Galloglaigh

FR Members:

Please make known your opinion on the matter of FR/RD relations by midnight (0000) Tuesday Dec 3, unless you have already done so.

Also, the St Brenden's Times is NOT the FR newspaper. It is a local (ooc-personal) newspaper. If no one is interested in running the FR newspaper by midnight (0000) Thursday, Dec 5. I will suspend the SBT and start a party paper. But I would prefer that the party paper show the views of a diversity of party members, and thus not be run by myself.

Also, temporary party offices will run out at the end of the week. Nominations are thus open for the positions.

Thank you for your attention,
Sean Galloglaigh

i feel we should be part of a coalition only if it isnt left dominated or too left leaning. we deserve a say as the biggest party as well as other reasons.

Agreed. A coalition does us no good if we must compromise the principles the party was founded on.

Mr. Galloglaigh,

I would like to apply for membership in the Free Republican Party. My family had a long relationship, both in terms of participation and financial support, with the former Christian Democratic Alliance.

Sincerely,

Professor Galloglaigh, if it is requested that I serve in some function with the party newspaper, then I accept the duty. Perhaps I shall be able to use my company's capital resources to aid the creation of such a news service. In fact, the more I think of it, the more I approve of the idea of a newspaper endorsing the centrist views of this organization, owned by Petracco SA. Give me a name, gentlemen, and I will give you great things.

Not to beat a dead horse but...

Fellow Free Republicans, the current officials terms of office expire at the beginning of next week. The first full 2 month term must therefore be voted on by Sunday 0000. Nominations must therefore be made for party office by 0000 Wednesday.

At this time, I'd nominate Mr Peo for Vice Chairman, if he is willing to serve.

Election Nominees:

We also need to establish our party's slate for the upcoming election. That means 1 Presidential nominee and (as I understand it, correct me, if I'm wrong), 4 nominees for MP.

I have asked Col. Jacob-Lundgren if he is willing to serve as our Presidential nominee, and he has accepted. His nomination must be confirmed by party affirmation. The party is willing to entertain other nominees from the floor.

Any wishing to serve in Parliament, please post your desire to do so.

I will run for Parliament, if the party so chooses, that still leaves (at least) 3 others, preferably by acclamation.

Thanks,
Sean Galloglaigh

OOC- Are we set on how the election will work? Representation, as I understand it right now, is not proportional (regional). So how will the election work? Each citizen voting for a certain number of PM candidates (certainly more than one)?End OOC

FR members:

The Voice of the Republic has been founded. The list of editors is listed on the first page. Any of those individuals may contribute without being proofed by the Editor-in-Chief in and as long as they consistently (not absolutely) represent party policy. Anyone else who is a party member who wishes to contribute regularly please let me know via PM, and we'll add you to the list of contributing editors.

Mr Petrarca, all other individuals, inside or outside the party, who wish to contribute, must be cleared by you. Also you have the right to review all articles by contributing editors to ensure they maintain the standard of "consistently" representing party policy.

Most Sincerely,
Sean Galloglaigh

Lord Randall,

It is a pleasure to have one of your scholarship also present in our party. I would ask if, given your area of expertise, you would be willing to help form our foreign policy, in particular how we in EUtopia are to function as a nation in regards to Euro-American relations.

Mr Fitzpatrick,

We cordially accept your offer for discussions. Our answers on the issues have already been published at that address.

Mr Wagnaard,

Thank you, our position is that only industries that cannot make a profit should be publically held. So we do not think we are intruding on the private sector in this matter, as no private citizen is going to willingly take over a doomed business.

As for regulation, yes some, to protect the interest of the broader population. But if you peruse my response on the environmental issue to Mr Fitzpatrick on the coalition thread, for instance, you will see that what we favor more than regulation is incentive to put the public interest first. Especially in terms of the environment. Thus tax credits for cleaning up environmental waste before the regulatory police tell a business to do so, and tax credits for cleaning up a business' processes that have, in the past, created polution unnecessarily. We believe these are fundamentally non-interference ways to promote a cleaner environment.

Mr. Gallogaigh,

Thank you for your acceptance of my application for membership. I look forward to working with the party to bring to fruition a vision for a strong and confident Eutopia.

I appreciate your suggestion that I cooperate with the development of a foreign policy for the Free Republican Party and will gladly take up that task.

i hope the FR get the place they deserve in our gloriuos nation.
i will also fight to get our allies to places they deserve.
i have no problem working in a coalition government and hope a good center coalition gets formed.
i am thankful for a writing position in our newspaper though i fear my writing skills might not be equal to many other fine citizens of Eutopia.

respectfully,
