Conservation of Institutions and building soceity
We believe in separation of church and state, but not separation of church from state. Those who believe should have equal access to state facilities and the right to practice their faith in public unless said practice physically endangers non-practicers. Ethics are unavoidably part of legislation. Stating that ethics should not be legislated is fundamentally self-contradictory. The party subscribes broadly to Judeo-Christian values, but does not treat faith as a litmus test.
Dear Sirs,
An interesting debate is taking place among the members of the Eutopian Bar Association concerning the drafting of a Model Charter of Rights.
A spokesperson for the Rally for Democracy has offered his party's opinion on parts of the discussion and he claims that the view held by his party, in reference to a suggested preamble, is held by the vast majority of the Eutopian populace.
If he is correct, then obviously we will have to consider new wording of the section in question. However, after reading the basic principles of your party (specifically that which is quoted above) I do not know if you would agree with the RD position.
If you would be willing to review our discussions, at the
Eutopian Bar Association I would value your input.
We (more accurately, I) could very well be off base, but I'd like to confirm that before surrendering this point to them.
Sincerely,
Rev. Jack Teano
