That´s true. There are other problems as well, e.g. that traditional enemies suddenly will develop neutral or even good relations to one another (Russia/Poland) so that no fighting occurs. It´s ALL a sideeffect of the new relations issue in the end. If this will be fixed, everything will be back on track again.

In my opinion, England needs to be tweaked the most. The last 2 games I played I saw Scotland rape it all the way down to Anglia and annex it (I had all majors off). After that, Portugal should be tweaked too because it looses Oporto and Algarve pretty quicky to the Spaniards in most games.

Hmm, funny, I just completed a game (with the IGC 1.4.), where

- England annexed Scotland
- Portugal never fought Spain
- Turkey gobbled up Hungary

Like it should be.

But also:

- France annexed Austria diplomatically (even when Austria already had Bavaria)
- Sweden got five provinces in the Steppes preventing Russia to go South
- Spain allied with Incas, who survived til the end

Like it shouldn´t be.

In my opinion there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way for a country to act, game to game, at least up to a *point*. If that were so, games would become incredibly boring and stale / repetitive very very quickly.

Why does Poland always have to be partitioned?

Why does Turkey always have to eat into Hungary?

Why does Spain always have to be no.1 in VP's?

The more variety the better, as long as it corresponds realistically to what could have happened. If you want a linear game, try something else, EU is much more dynamic, and thats one of its main attributes.

Hmmm... in my current game, France has been pretty marginalised. She tends to lose a lot of border provinces to Spain...

the Aztecs really sucked in my game. they could have attacked me for a long time with a good chance to win. we almost had a realtion of -200 and they had a permanent CB against me. but they didn´t even try.....
