I used to like France, but since CS, i like her a little less. Starting in 1444 it's just not as good, if a war with england happens at all, which sometimes it doesnt, ive sen france struggle to get her english owed cores, and I've never seen France beat (or even fight Provence), struggle to beat Burgundy - usually it is only the death of the Duke event which collapses Burgundy, rather than a successful French military campaign. I've likewise never seen France do anything towards Brittany.
My proposals are as follows -
1) France and England should start 1444 at War once again I know technically there was a truce, but for the sake of the game, I propose this.
2) France should once again have all those vassals, however they should all have "Scutage" applies, so they aren't technically at war with England - again, not entirely accurate, but for the sake of the game. (and for any with concern about non-CS owners, Moldovia was a march under poland in my games when I did not own AoW, so shouldn't be an issue)
3) England should start with an army of roughly similar size to frances in one of it's holdings in france, thus giving them an actual chance to win the war.
4) In the event of a French victory, the french vassals are annexed by event option.
5) the War of the Roses doom event cannot trigger until after the 100 years War is over
6) France should once again have claims on Burgundy / Provences territory, so it targets that in the aftermath of the 100 years war, rather than nonsense such as vassalising and annexing Narverra, which I have seen it do three times, and targeting Aragonese lands, which I have also seen it do several games as well.
7) Provence should not be involved in the war on the side of France, the hundred years war should only involve English and French combatants (I know Brittany was involved too, but to make it fairer)
8) Burgundy should have a peace treaty with France until the end of the war, whenever that is.
Under these suggestions, I believe the 100 years war will result in england and france actually fighting once again, France should more often than not, (but not always - it is alternative history after all) secure herself the english held lands in france, but it will be overall fairer and actually allow france to secure herself lands in burgundy and provence. It'll also slow the english conquest of the british isles a tad, if england basically goes straight from 100 years war to the war of roses, as opposed to Roses first, or concurrently to a continental war, which i also consider to be a good idea.
