I noticed that with the new patch France now guarantees CZSL, which means in a non-historic game, CZSL will always refuse Sudetenland causing the WW to start in 1937 every. single. time.
Why was this changed, can this be adjusted.

Even off of historical, Britain, France, and Czechoslovakia have a >90% chance to let Germany have the Sudentenland.

HOWEVER, if the "GER_has_started_war" flag has been set, Britain and France will always back up Czechoslovakia off of historical. (Note: "GER_has_started_war" is set when Germany declares war on another nation for the first time)

I am willing to bet you started an early war and the rejection is 100% due to this, not any changes to France's guarantees.

My unhistorical focus game with me as hungary and Germany as my friend, Czech denied Sudentland without any war going on on the German side. World tension was 22% though but that shouldn't have mattered.

I have not
Well, unless you've declared a war, (or the UK is in a faction with the Czechs) the UK will accept Germany taking the Sudetenland ~94.5% of the time.
If France is not in a faction with the Czechs, they will then follow the UK's lead and allow Germany to take the Sudetenland ~97.2% of the time
Czechoslovakia then has a base chance of rejecting of ~4.5%. This will increase if any of the following hold:
  1. Austria still exists (increases rejection chances to ~11.1%)
  2. Czechoslovakia has at least 75% the army strength of Germany and no other neighboring nations are in Germany's faction (will ALWAYS reject)
  3. Czechoslovakia leads a faction (will ALWAYS reject)
  4. Czechoslovakia is in a faction (increases rejection chance to ~78.2%)
  5. Czechoslovakia is a puppet of a nation other than Germany (will always reject)
Do any of the above apply?

Ah it was number 3. They joined the Allies EXTREMELY early. Like 1937 early.

That would do it. Czechoslovakia being in the Allies will always lead to the Sudetenland being denied to Germany.

EDIT: Wait, which faction were the Czechs in, exactly? As far as I call tell, there's no focus to allow the Czechs to join the UK's faction, or for the UK to invite the Czechs to their faction.

It's not that Britain refuses it's that CZSL refuses. And non of those apply except maybe army strength, I can't check that. But I did have three 24 divison armies plus some tanks and mountaineers. That's generally my opener.

Are you sure the chance is 90%

Oh, it's even better than 90%. If you have double the Czech's army strength and none of the 5 conditions apply, the Czechs have a ~97.8% chance of surrendering the Sudetenland.

It *may* be that La Résistance has introduced a bug in how army strength is calculated. (if so, this would mean the Netherlands will likely refuse to return the Kaiser every time... will have to test)

In any case, it shouldn't have anything to do with the French guarantee.

They were in the Allies I would like to say... but the game was also 6 hours ago. I cant remember. So I could be wrong. All I know is, I was playing Hungary, world tension breached 24% for a moment before dropping immediatly to 22% around sudentland.

There was no war Germany entered before hand. I dont know what caused it honestly. I just know it really caused problems for the axis. I mean eventually we won. It was I believe 1942 when we capitulated everyone for a peacedeal.

Wanted to revive this. In historical focuses off, what are the drivers?

I'm in early 1938 and CZE rejects every time. I'm GER, ITA and HUN are in my faction. CZE are guaranteed by FRA and ROM. FRA went Communist, and are in a faction with SOV. England is going communist and decolonizing. I have already annexed Austria.

My army is decent (91 divs) but they reject every time. I tried even save scumming to delete the entire CZE and FRA army as a test, but they still reject. What is triggering this? Seems odd they are overconfident. WT is at 19%.

Going back to this:

None apply. CZE is not in a faction, but I guess 4 counts if you consider that via guarantees they can join COMINTERN?

This is an issue since the release of La Resistance. And most likely a bug of some kind with the Czech AI.. (see the release thread for multiple reports on the matter).

Fix SEEMS TO BE, though I am not 100% sure, to make sure to start the Demand Sudetenland focus, see how Czech react, and reload, and reset the focus.

However considering how the in game national focus related events seem to be rather set in stone by the start of the game for nations like France... I can't really say if this is a perfect fix either.

Got the same issue on 3 different non historical games in a row.

Czechs are guaranteed by France, Czech refuse, I got to War, francés goes to war with me, France joins the allies, ww2
