hi, i have a little prob.. I wanted to play the historical timeline (1936) until war against poland.

the only thing i have done was to annex luxembourg at the beginning of the game and i got 10 spies inside great britian. than one year later france declared war on me... and after a week stalin declared too ( i have +50 relations to him at this mom.)

i really dont know why, is it because i conquered luxembourg ? i have read in the wiki that this is a possibility at the beginning, but this was for hoi2.

any ideas ?

Hi,

Yes it's because of Luxemburg... countries that are "protected" by a non aggression pact by the UK, France or USSR, are "no go zone" until the war breaks out...

Countries in Europe you can "safely" DW early as Germany:

Finland;
Spain (Republican)

You have to start building Transports right after the Ruhr event has fired... By about 17 of April you should have them all...

;)

Yupp, probably because you attacked Luxembourg! I think the French guarantee (sp?) their independance and will use any reason to DOW you.

EDIT: Argh! Tanaka were faster!

I thought that with a Guarantee independence you would receive a DOW straight away not 2 years after they have been annexed.

The violated G-I gives the guarantor a permanent +2 Interventionist shift... which lowers the Belligerence threshold for DoW's.

France (or Britain) can then DoW you as soon as your Belligerence rises into range, or as soon as their yearly Policy shifts raise their Interventionism enough.

The moral of the story: don't f*ck with Luxembourgh!
