France create "French Alliance" then backstab Yugoslavia, WAD?

So I was playing a non-historical game as Germany. I grabbed Austria and all of Czechoslovakia via Germany's national focuses. But when I ask Yugoslavia somewhat politely *huhum* to cede Slovenia; they say no and enters an alliance with France (French Alliance). So far so good. But after a short while I get a pop-up telling me France joined the Allies. So apparently France left the faction they created together with Yugoslavia while at war with me and joined another faction. Is this really working as designed or is it a bug?

It's been awhile since I played ahistorcial, but could it be the case that the "French Alliance" was formed by event, and then France took "Go With Britain" which overrides it? As I recall France's alternate faction name from the focus should have Entente in it.

It might very well be as you describe it. But that seem weird to me. When France have formed an alliance the focus should be unavailable if not already used or aborted if chosen.

The only faction related constraint on the focus is that Little Entente wasn't taken, and I imagine the devs didn't plan for such a scenario because of how early you got Yugoslavia involved. Most of the time it's in '40, by which time France would be in the allies.

I guess you're right. It all adds up.
@podcat Maybe this is something that should be looked at?

France can choose to form the Entente, and then sell it out when Czech comes under attack (which removes the Entente), and it usually joins the Allies thereafter.
