Hello. I'm playing as France. It's 1614 now. The league war has already finished and resulted in the Peace of Westphalia. I'm protestant. To dismantle the empire I have to occupy only The Palatinate and the emperor Brandenburg, who only has 2 provinces now. I have to be quick because the Brandenburgian ruler is over 50 now and if he dies, I will be the emperor again. Only one reform surpassed. The imperial authority is around 20 now and it grows either 0,16 or 0,06, depends on is there war internally or not. I think waiting for revoke the privilegia is too late now. So my question is should I dismantle the empire or not?

To be honest you are the only person who can answer that question.
What are your aims?
When you want to conquer the HRE provinces you should dismantle it.
If you dont want them you should not dismantle it. Just bekome Emporer and get some bonuses from it.

Whether or not I dismantle the Empire almost exclusively comes down to how much spite they've accumulated from frustrating my ambitions throughout a campaign - and sometimes opportunism - but @LazySiege has the gist of it. Dismantle it if you want to, keep it if not. Do the benefits of faster conquest of Germany outweigh the bonuses you get from Emperorship for you?

If I don't want to be the Emperor and I can I always dismantle the HRE. I prefer to have few medium nations near my border instead of lots of small and without empire they are more likely to conquer each other. Even if I don't expand into HRE they get AE from my conquests in Italy, Spain etc. and it is easier to avoid or fight the coalistions

First of all I have never done this, it would be for my own prestige. My main goal is (as always) is to recreate the Roman Empire (I have never succedded in this as well). Crushing Austria and the now so powerful Genoa would be much easier without the empire I think. I'm still not the best in this game, at least I already have some knowledge of the bigger strategies. :D

In that case disband those false pretenders asap.

There is only one true heir to the Roman Empire you xD
