Fps issues

I got fps issues. being around 25-30 constant. still i got pc components way over the recommended.

amd 8 core fx 8350 4ghz
12 gb ddr 3 ram
120gb ssd (eu4 installed there)
amd radeon r9 200 series 3gb gddr5 main clock 1072 mhz and memory clock 1250 mhz.

updated all drivers e.t.c checked for viruses and even reinstalled the game.

I should be at 60 fps all the time.. whats the problem?

At what ingame speed? At what resolution? With what hz setting in options?

speed 4 and 5, its at 60 hz.

edit: resolution is 1920x1080. I got hdmi Benq display.

If you don't care for graphics, you can disable the water textures entirely. I did this and it increased my FPS tremendously. You can find the file in:
(whatever you have)\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\settings.txt

change the line 'draw_water=yes' to 'draw_water=no'

That, and other things can be disabled in that file.

yes I could do that. but with my pc setup i shouldn't have to since i meet the req's by far. but I will try to do that and see if i get 60 fps.

I did it. and it didn't help. it made it worse so im at 20-25 fps at speed 3. what is wrong?my pc specs are way over the recommended req's. please. I really want it to be stable at 60 fps at my current settings. anyone from paradox can help?

edit: maybe it's because I play it on my SSD? this game maybe cant handle an SSD harddrive?or it has nothing to do with that?

Sucks man, I don't know what you could do then. Maybe the game files somehow corrupted? You can try reinstalling, although I doubt it will help.

The game only uses 2 cores,so AMD FX works inefficiently due to low single core performance.

i have similar specs and my computer plays it fine, maybe do a fresh driver install for your AMD catalyst ?

also you should easily be able to OC your processor to 4.4ghz with only a small voltage bump if you are savvy with that sort of stuff!

The engine doesn't like modern processors, so there's nothing that can be done really.

If by "most games out there today", then yes. That is "ancient". It's not easy to make synchronized multicore applications that have to run in fulltime. Everything still has to pass through the main thread at some point - In fact splitting things up too much can reduce performance.
