Morean Ideas:

Traditions: +10% Land Morale, -10% Fort Maintenance

Refurbish the Hexamilion Wall: +20% Fort Defense
Description: The Hexamilion Wall is located in a strategic position, stretching across the Isthmus of Corinth, but it has fallen into disrepair and is horribly outdated. We should rebuild it along more modern standards and take full advantage of its location!

Title of Despot: -20% Time to Fabricate Claims
Description: The title of Despot was originally conferred on the ruler of Morea by the Emperor, designating him as heir apparent. Though the empire is gone, the importance of the title still stands. Let us use it to legitimize our claims as the rightful heirs to the empire.

Albanian Influx: +15% Manpower Recovery Speed
Description: Our homelands have slowly become depopulated due to constant wars and Turkish raids. Let us invite Albanians to migrate into our lands and help rebuild our reserves.

Venetian Outposts: +1 Diplomatic Reputation
Description: If we make concessions to the Venetians in key ports, we can use their connections with the rest of Europe to find allies in our struggle.

Reconstruction of the Peninsula: -10% Build Cost
Description: Continuous conflict across our peninsula has resulted in widespread destruction, and many fortresses, churches and monasteries lie in ruin, leaving it a shadow of what it once was. We should begin a program of reconstruction.

Maniot Recruitment: +10% Infantry Combat Ability
Description: The Maniots are a fiercely independent people that live in southern Morea and are renowned for their martial prowess. They’ve prospered under our rule, and so they will gladly contribute to our army.

Continuation of Byzantine Monasticism: +2% Missionary Strength
Description: Morea is home to many ancient monasteries that survived the carnage that engulfed the region. Housing many priceless frescos, and more importantly, devoted monks, we should sponsor them and experience a resurgence in our culture and faith.

Ambition: -1% Yearly Army Tradition Decay

Norman Ideas:

Traditions: +10% Cavalry Combat Ability, -25% Mercenary Maintenance Cost

Ducal Laws of Normandy: -1 Unrest
Description: Normandy has always had its own laws, unique and independent from the rest of France, surviving multiple attempts at uniformity by the French crown. We can administer justice far more fairly and efficiently by keeping them alive.

The Bayeux Tapestry: -1% Yearly Prestige Decay
Description: The Bayeux Tapestry tells of the events leading up to and culminating in the conquest of England, our most glorious triumph. Let it stand as a reminder to our great exploits.

Legacy of Norman Conquests: -15% Core Creation Cost
Description: England was not the only land to know our rule. We have conquered places as far as Sicily and Naples, and even carved out territories in distant Epirus, Antioch and Tripoli. Our past is one of finding and conquering new lands, and so should our future.

Adventurous Spirit: +10% Land Morale
Description: Our people have always been willing to brave great adversity, and as a new Golden Age dawns upon us we must be willing to face such hardships again.

Settle the New World: +1 Colonist
Description: The Age of Exploration is upon us, and many Explorers and Colonists are leaving our ports for the New World. We should endorse their activities and reap the rewards.

Adaptable Architecture: -10% Build Cost/+5% Fort Defense
Description: Wherever we have gone, we have usually imported our distinctive Romanesque Architecture with us, itself a blend of various styles, and also incorporating local trends in the process. This way, we could better build higher quality buildings without great expense.

Consolidate the Church: +1% Missionary Strength:
Description: The Reformation has shaken the unity of our once singular congregation. We should endeavor to fully endorse one side and see the true word of God triumph.

Ambition: -10% Culture Conversion Cost

Frankfurter Ideas:

Traditions: -20% Mercenary Maintenance, +10% Fort Defense

Frankfurter Messe: -5% Technology Cost, -5% Idea Cost
Description: The Frankfurt Book Fair sees countless tomes and inventions from all over Europe pass through our streets, making our fair city one of the prime hubs of knowledge and innovation on the continent.

Standardization of Exchange Rates: - 1 Interest per Annum
Description: Just as many different currencies pass through our city as books. We should establish proper exchange rates to help ease their flow and allow for an easier time in securing loans.

Jewish Communes: +10% National Tax Modifier
Description: Frankfurt has some of the largest Jewish communities in Germany, and we will be able to increase our tax income as a result.

Seat of Imperial Coronations: +1 Yearly Prestige
Description: Our city has recently become the place of Imperial Coronations, a great honor that will bring no small amount of prestige to us.

Smallest Metropolis in the World: -10% Development Cost
Description: Frankfurt is one of the largest cities in Europe, even with its small size, serving as one of its most important centers of commerce and transportation, and has seen settlers from nations all over come to it.

Frankfurter Neutrality: +1 Diplomatic Reputation
Description: Even as wars rage around us in the Empire, to maintain our independence, we will attempt to stay out of them best we can.

Bürgerrecht: +0.5 Republican Tradition

Ambition: +5% Discipline

Flemish Ideas:

Traditions: +1 Merchant, +10% Trade Efficiency

Flemish Cloth Industry: +10% Goods Produced
Description: Flanders has a long, proud tradition of being the leader in the cloth industry of Europe; taking wool imported from England and else and then turning it into Europe’s main supply of clothing.

Merchant Houses: +15% Global Trade Power
Description: Traders from all over the world establish merchant houses in our principal port cities to do business, and we can use that as leverage to expand our own trade network.

Polders: -10% Development Cost
Description: The low countries are highly susceptible to flooding and in the unsettled weather of the 11th - 14th centuries there were multiple floods leading to the creation of the Zuiderzee and also salting the soil of coastal areas. We now have the technology to reclaim land allowing more productive agriculture.

Beeldenstorm: +2% Missionary Strength Against Heretics
Description: We can allow no graven images within our lands; their veneration is tantamount to worship! See to it that they are destroyed!

Flemish Shipyards: -10% Shipbuilding Time
Description: Flanders, being home to many of the vital ports of Europe, is natural home to many of its largest shipyards as well. These docks will allow us to construct a large trade fleet much quicker than our competitors.

Sugar Capital of Europe: +10% Production Efficiency
Description: Antwerp has become the sugar capital of Europe; importing most of the continent’s supply and containing one of the largest populations of able refiners to make and ship it.

Centralize the Army: +5% Discipline
Description: Historically, whenever we have gone to war, our cities have independently provided us with troops, leaving our army prone to lack of strong leadership. We should revise this and create a central authority to muster and lead all our forces.

Suggestions? Criticism? Feedback?

These ideas are great (@exaenae did Flanders a week ago. Should check it out.) I feel like there should be a section in the suggestion thread for ideas. Because I have a hard time trying to find stuff like this with al the other threads.

I think there used to be a big thread regarding new NI's a while back, but I can't remember what happened to it.

I posted an idea for more organization. It makes things easier when trying to find a idea group that someone posts in a while.

I actually prefer these Flemish ideas over mine. In fact they're all really, really solid.

Wow, thanks! (Admittedly, though, Polders are just borrowed from Holland.)
