The twin evils of Communism and Fascism must be opposed and the apparent softness of the National Party towards Fascism and Austrians has forced us into an alliance with the Democratic Party. My friends, we fought together and Slovenia needs to be rebuilt, for a stronger Yugoslavia.
I shall run for membership of the National Assembly. I shall run to be Head of the Slovene People's Party, our Party, the Party that spearheaded our Righteous Struggle against the Austrians. I also desire to become vice-premier of the Yugoslav Democratic Party, to ensure our interests are well represented. I'm not as young as I once was, my friends, but trust with another legislature, I shall do the best to fight our internal and external enemies, and will work tirelessly for Slovenia and Yugoslavia.

Long live the King! Long live Slovenia and Yugoslavia!

Drago Marušič, during a SPP meeting

On the 7th of February, Aleksandar Anto delivered a speech in his home town of Vranje which aired on television and radio across the nation.

Good afternoon, citizens of Vranje, Serbia and Yugoslavia.

Today I awoke, knowing I would deliver this speech, and I asked myself a question, what sacrifices did I myself, my friends, my family, my country and my country's people have to make for Yugoslavia to be what it is today. We had to experience the horrors of the Great War, we had to fight the Italian terror and had to feel the chills of the Communist uprising. All of these things resulted in the deaths of millions, the destruction of thousands of buildings and acres upon acres of land. The people of Yugoslavia dreaded these horrific events and today look back upon them with fright, hatred, panic and fear. These events, or events similar, should never have to be experienced by the people and future people of Yugoslavia. Only friendship, love, unity, neutrality and order should be felt by the Yugoslav people.

Therefore, today I announce that I shall be running for reelection in the National Assembly under the Yugoslav National Party. Furthermore, I announce my candidacy for Premiership of the National Assembly. Finally, I announce that I will also be running for the Chairmanship of the Yugoslav National Party.

For me, this is a big step in my life. All my life I have lived the military life, fighting for my country, the people of my country and my family. But now I see there is a greater importance in life, the people of Yugoslavia need a leader that is capable of providing the most beneficial experiences to the Yugoslav people. The people of Yugoslavia need a leader that is capable of guiding the nation to the glorious heights of a strong economy, military and nation as a whole The people of Yugoslavia need a leader that is capable of riding the lands of Fascists and Communists. The people of Yugoslavia need me as the Premier of the National Assembly. Though I may not be capable of curing Cancer, abolishing crime and poverty across the globe, I am capable of providing the Yugoslav people with these things.

Hvala puno,

Thank you.

Fellow citizens of Yugoslavia, I greet you.

I do so not as a soldier, though it has been my honor to serve in that role in the past, but as a fellow-citizen and Yugoslav patriot, who aspires to the highest role a citizen may play in our beloved Kingdom, that of the office of Premier of the National Assembly. I offer myself to the service of His Royal Majesty and the citizens of Yugoslavia not because I believe myself to be great or because I believe my ability to be transcendent, but because I am driven by the desire to serve His Majesty the King and His Majesty's loyal subjects and serve as the bridge between those two pillars of our nation.

Unlike some others, I realize that the issues confronting our nation are grave indeed, and cannot be swept away with grandiose proclamations or simply wishing it so. We are bordered by a fascist empire whose rapacity is equaled only by its cruelty, an empire whose military might far exceeds our own and includes weapons of unparalleled destruction, which even now occupies our rightful soil and oppresses our Slavic brethren. We share a continent with a militant communist empire that has shown its willingness to sow the seeds of chaos and hatred among our people to realize its dark dreams of hegemony. We are proud and we are free, but we must never forget that our freedom remains constantly under threat by great and powerful forces that wish us to be otherwise.

If I am selected by His Royal Majesty to take up the National Premiership, I will do so in the spirit of utmost humility and in acknowledgement of the great work that must be done to realize the tremendous promise of our unique pan-Slavic nation. My goals shall be simple: To further unite our peoples under the royal Yugoslav banner in pride and patriotism, to ensure that our nation's borders and people are well-defended so that a second Neptune cannot ever occur, and to promote prosperity and stability so that our nation assumes its proper role as a modern, industrial, technologically-adept state.

Great days lay ahead of us, my fellow citizens, if only we have the strength and the character to acknowledge our destiny and rise above petty differences to realize our pan-Slavic dreams. Join me, and under the benevolent rule of the Royal House, we shall prosper, we shall grow, and we shall reclaim what is rightfully ours!

I announce that today, I shall seek a seat in the National Assembly under the banner of the Yugoslav Socialist Party, the one party that is dedicated towards the worker.

My friends, we live in a world that is very different from the one many of us grew up in, and certainly different from the one our fathers and mothers envisioned. Ours is the generation that has seen firsthand the rise of communism, the terrible depression in Europe, the war that tore the continent apart. We have seen man take to the skies and reach beyond the clouds, and we have seen the atom split in half. There is so much promise in our world, so much potential. Humanity is always in conflict with itself, in conflict with its own nature. Because of who we are we seek to rule and dominate, we fight wars over possessions, and we fear each other. This is all natural. It comes from our forbearers who had to do this in order to survive. But now it is up to us to overcome our nature, because only by doing so can we unlock the true potential of our world. We must not fear each other and we must not seek to rule and dominate over one another. In friendship and in brotherhood we must go forward, arm in arm, into the bright future, working together to overcome any obstacles, and with our goal nothing less than the transformation of humanity into a new Age of Progress and Humanism.

I officially announce I shall be running for a seat in the National Assembly under the Yugoslav National Party.

Further, I open my candidacy to the Premiership of the Banovina of Serbia.

Colonel General Milan Kalafatović (Ret.)

People of Yugoslavia! Once again I stand for election to the Skupština for the Yugoslav Democratic Party to represent the interests of the people on a national level. Between this election and the last one a great injustice facing our nation has been undone now that the people of Slovenia are united with their motherland once again, and are again able to determine their own faith. It is a step in the right direction, but our brethern in Dalmatia still suffer under the fascist jackboot of a nation that look to the past for greatness. Because a hundred and sixty-two years ago Venice ruled over our lands, Rome considers it theirs opresses the Yugoslavs who live there. And I am certain this land will be returned to us, maybe not now, or not in a decade, or not in five decades, or in our lifetime. In 1912, I was present at the liberation of Kosovo, the heart of Serbia, from the Turkish empire that had occupied it for 523 years. But unlike then, Serbia was a small country, its only friend was Russia, on the other end of Austria, one of the hostile empires it was surrounded by. But now Serbia is united with its brethren as Yugoslavia. And we have France as our friend we can reach. Dalmatia's return will not take 500 years, it shall be done sooner. Much sooner. And I say that until we have returned our rightful lands, there shall be no contact with the delusional regime in Rome, nor with their Austrian puppet!

The issue of Slovenia also brings up the results of the Austrian occupation. Slovenia has shown us that in order to colonise a nation, one does not have to cross five thousand kilometers or more of open ocean. For all intents and purposes, Slovenia was colonised, where Austrians settled and expanded their economy, and exploited the labour of enslaved Slovenes to build a pointless canal, which even the fascists themselves projected not to be completed before 1980. That they would be willing to use our brothers and sisters as slaves for decades shows the contempt they have for the Yugoslavs. Slovenia was their colony, treated without even the slightest bit care seen in French and British holdings, and the amount of Austrian businesses and capital that remain in Slovenia, its population exodus and economic decline are painful reminders of this that should be undone. The Yugoslav Democratic Party supports the nationalisation of Austrian-owned businesses in Slovenia to eventually transfer them to Slovenes. Furthermore, the YDP supports extra funding and investments in Slovenia to make its economy grow, like it does in the rest of our country.

On the 14th of February, Anto made his way to Belgrade to deliver a speech. The topic at hand, the Yugoslav Monarchy.

Good morning, citizens of Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia.

Forty-one years ago on December 1st 1918 the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was formed and is seen as the foundation to what we have today, a glorious unified Yugoslavia. To me, the Royal Family and the Monarchy hold a great deal of importance in today's Yugoslav society. The economic stability, military pride and unified population would be non-existent, and for all I know, I may not have been standing here today.

If I was elected as Premier of the National Assembly, it would be one of my most important goals to make sure that Yugoslavia remains a Constitutional Monarchy and keep the royal family as the symbol of our great nation. Therefore I wish to meet with His Majesty, King Peter II to discuss the current problems Yugoslavia faces today, domestic and foreign, and to build a friendship with the very person who will be selecting the next Premier of the National Assembly.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my campaign. Growing up I never thought I would stand in front of you today delivering this speech, nor did I know I would be running for the positions I am currently running for. You people, people of Yugoslavia, are the core of our great nation. Your children and their children will grow up to take your spot and continue to push Yugoslavia toward an even more stable economy, militarily strong nation and a united stance.

Hvala puno!

National Hopeful Spotted with Crown Prince

Sources close to the Royal Family have confirmed the long-running rumor that one Gavril Novakovic, contender for the National Premiership, has been dining regularly with HRH the Crown Prince in a series of friendly and intimate lunches. Novakovic, the 39-year-old bachelor, announced his surprise intentions for the nation's highest elected office following a breakout speech to the National Assembly calling for "strength, unity, and prosperity," and he's wasted no time forging ties with the Royal House. Few contenders for the Premiership have Novakovic's vitality or energy; as one of the "New Men" of Yugoslavia's grand old National Party, he represents a reinvigorating trend in the YugoNats and may be poised to capture the Premiership based on his sensible, level-headed approach to restoring Yugoslavia's position as the dominant power in the Balkans. This paper believes that Novakovic's detailed plan on Yugoslav rearmament and industrial growth in combination with his charismatic oratory suggest both brains and charm, a powerful combination for a future National Premier. ELECTION TIMES

Attention: the month of February will end at 23:59 EST tonight (approx 13 hours and 40 minutes from this post). Please make all election-related IC by that time if you would like it to be counted for elections.

On the 21st of February, Alexandar Anto delivered a speech in front of the War Cemetery, the topic at hand being Fascism and Communism.

Good day, citizens of Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia.

Behind me lay the bodies of men who have put their nation before themselves, men who have laid down their lives to protect the freedom and unity our nation holds on to with pride. Without these men, Communist banners may have been flying over Yugoslavia! Without these men, Yugoslavia would not have had freedom, unity, peace and friendship.

When the fascists invaded our land, thousands of Yugoslavs took up arms and of what they good to push back the Fascists, though sadly, they weren't successful. In the end the Italian nation we now look upon with disgust holds onto land of Yugoslavia, land of Yugoslav people! It is one of my greatest wishes that some day this land is returned to Yugoslavia, but I don't want to have this happen by sending thousands upon thousands of men to their death, the Yugoslav people don't deserve that! In 1955 the government of Yugoslavia was capable of taking back Slovenia land without having to march sons, fathers, brothers and uncles to their death. What if we were capable of doing this again, except with the land lost to the Italians!

During our civil war, the Yugoslav people were split between two ideologies, Capitalism and Communism. Looking back upon that war, it sickens me to know that at one point in time the Yugoslav people were not united, there was no peace or stability, but only hatred for the opposing side. For who are we to blame? The monarchy? No! The people? No! Our Nation? No! The Communists are to blame! They use the horrors of war to scare the people of different nations into thinking that Communism is the answer, but it is not! Capitalism has brought us peace, equality, friendship and stability. The Communists wish to see the exact opposite! No peace upon our people and the culturally and religiously diverse nation we are will plunge into a unstable and atheist society!

The Yugoslav nation can not remain what it is if we were under the control of Fascists or Communists! With me as the Premier of the National Assembly you can trust me to protect our lands from the Fascist and Communist poison! I am the vaccine for the growing and spreading infection, that infection being deadly!

Your support is the fuel that drives me to do what I do, without you... I am nothing!!

Hvala Puno!

First of all, I'll ask all of you Yugoslavs to forgive me for my accent in Serbo-Croatian, the long occupation of Slovenia has given me few opportunities to exercise, and my age means pronunciation went downhill. Yet you'll all be able to understand me, for we are the citizens of the same country, Yugoslavia.

The elections are forthcoming, and I must ask you to vote. Voting is a right the heroes of the Yugoslav Liberation Army died for, along with the right of claiming our Yugoslavism, and our faithfulness to the King. You may feel apathetic, as this campaign hasn't been hectic, but voting is as much a duty as a right. I don't demand you vote for my party, even if I'd be pleased if you did, but to cast your support for the Yugoslav constitutional democracy. We have tasted slavery, and we can truly enjoy freedom, and we mustn't let this slip away.

This election is a peculiar one, as many ambitious army leaders try to take political positions. It is slightly worrisome, as the army sided with the Dictator during the Ljotić era. But I trust these men will do whatever they can for Yugoslavia and all of her people. As an ageing man, I find it amusing to see these heroes of a defeated army parade, and I do wonder about their whereabouts by the time the Yugoslav Liberation Army was crushed in Dalmatia. I won't drag the political debate in the mud, and I wish them luck.

Democracy should be treasured, and a bright future awaits us if we make the right the decisions. Whatever the outcome is, I will seek to engage in bi-partisan deals, so as to address blatant issues that require good faith and pragmatism, not ideology. Yugoslavia remains on the fringes of the EEC, and we must work hard, united, to bring ourselves to modern standards. I am sure we will make it, and I hope I will live to see it.

Long live the King! Long live democratic Yugoslavia!

Although, the Great Depression left the family broke and they moved to Prizren in hopes of finding a job. Her father found a job in a local mine, allowing the family again begin to rebuild their lives. Jovana, aged sixteen, and her mother got hired at a sweatshop. On the 28th of February, Alexandar Anto delivered a speech in front of the Ministry of Defence building, the topic at hand being the economy and financial situation of Yugoslavia.

Good afternoon, citizens of Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia.

There is one thing about Yugoslavia that gives me a great deal of concern, the economy and financial situation. While speaking to government economic officials I learned that Yugoslavia is, in fact, economically stable. But, the Yugoslav economy still needs to grow and expand for our nation to benefit off of it. Multiple conflicts that Yugoslavia has found itself dragged into have seen in the drop on our economy, and sadly a drop in the work force. With a small work force to work with, our economy needs to see more of a quality improvement then a quantity improvement. With the quality of our industry improving, it will allow for more products to be produced, more products to be exported and consumed and allow for our GDP to grow, further benefiting our economy. But, how are supposed to be capable of doing this with the current amount of debt our government is dragging behind them, and the current deficit. This brings me to our financial topic.

As most of us know the current deficit of the Yugoslav government is almost two billion dollars, and the current debt we hold almost surpasses our GDP which is not good in any way, shape or form. If we want our economy to grow, and even expand in the future, we need to lower our debt and get a surplus going. It won't only be our economy that will lack funds, it will be our education, infrastructure, administration, health and welfare! Our children risk not having the best education and healthcare, our children are the future of our nation and need the best to become the best.

That is why I seek to make the most beneficial changes to our government spending if I was to become Premier. I would choose the best Ministers so they can give me the best opinions on what to do. I would then bring forth the best resolutions to the National Assembly so I can enact the most beneficial policies for our people. The Yugoslav people need a leader that is capable of doing things that will not only benefit Yugoslavia today, but Yugoslavia in the years to come! With me as Premier, the Yugoslav people will see all these things, they will see a booming economy and a government making money!

This will be my last speech for the remainder of the election period, as I wish to had back down to Vranje so I can spend time with my family and hopefully celebrate the most positive outcome during these election times.

Hvala Puno!
