Because of issues outlined here I am going to do a re-set of the game from the beginning. This is a thread for you to sign-up for a country or countries you would like to play. I ask that you please take this seriously and only sign up for countries you actually want to play and plan on sticking with. Consider if you have time for this game. It is not very time-intensive, but I know that there are two other similar games going on and many of us have jobs and school.
If you only want to play one country, sign up for just that one. No need to list three countries if you are really not interested in the 2nd and 3rd. If I cannot get a roster of a dozen players who want to play this game then maybe there is simply not enough interest, and I would rather find this out now than after two months of trying to make the game run with a lack of player participation.
Here is how the signups will work:
Those players who are currently in the game and want to keep their country and re-play from the beginning can do so. They automatically get their country.
Players who are currently in the game, but do not want to re-play the same country should post what country they want to play. I am going to try very hard to accommodate all of these requests.
Everyone else should post the countries they want, and I will do my best, as usual, to assign countries. You can post here why you want a specific country or flag me down on IRC and let me know if you have a really particular interest in something.
There will be 12-15 players. The following countries are ones I absolutely need filled:
Great Britain
France
Russia
Spain
Austria
Ottomans
Prussia
Netherlands
The following are countries I think it would be nice to have in the game, but not essential. I will also consider requests for other countries if someone really wants something not listed here.
USA
Naples
Sardinia
Portugal
Sweden
Venice
Denmark
Poland
Bavaria
Saxony
Maratha
Afghanistan
Persia
