Greece does the right thing​

Your excellencies, majesties, authorities of the nations of the world,

the Kingdom of Greece will help the starving masses in the former Soviet Union although it is not the richest nation itself. We will send medical help and food to avoid any more civilian deaths. Because this is more important than ideological debates anyone disregarding their new country's alignment will be helped. It will not be much but we hope to be able to help at least a bit.

Because such an offer takes much more than such a simple pledge the royal family will step down on food consumptions and a part of our personal wealth will be used to bring further funds for the project.

When visiting Antrea on the Karelian Isthmus during the Civil War of 1918, Marshall of Finland Mannerheim issued a proclamation, in which he swore he would not put his sword back in its place before "the last warrior and thug of Lenin" was banished from Karelia; the Karelian Isthmus, Ladoga Karelia, Viena and the Kola peninsula have now finally been freed from the tyrannical Soviet rule! Not only did we reclaim what we lost back in 1939 and 1944 but we also have reclaimed the rightful Finnish claim to all of Karelia. The kindred peoples have been freed! Glory to Finland and its brave warriors! The people of Karelia, expelled from their homes by the Soviet onslaught may now return home! The Finnish people will remain in an ever lasting gratitude to the Allies who helped us secure what is rightfully ours! This is a great day for Finland! From the suffering and submission posed upon us by the Soviet Union rises a new Finland! A modern and European nation, proud of its heritage!

Finnish Civil Administration will be immediately established to the area; and I announce the creation of 3 new Läänis (provinces): Aunus, Kuolla and Viena, with each receiving its corresponding areas. The Karelian Isthmus and Ladoga Karelia lost in 1944 will be returned to the Viipuri province. To the kindred people of the East: You all will be granted full Finnish citizenship and we will protect you; a huge rebuilding effort will be started in the East, to turn it as modern as the rest of Finland and fix the destruction caused by the Communists.

To the People of Canada and the International community.

We must congratulate the members of the Euro Alliance with their swift victory over the Russians. It is a shame to see that 7 Avro Arrows were shot down during this conflict, but now that it has seen combat we know what we need to add and what we need to take away, over time this will become the best aircraft on the planet.

The 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, 5th Armoured Division and the 2nd regiment of the 1st Canadian Artillery Division will be sent to a military base in Finland so they can regain their organisation. A decision of where they go next will be made soon.

Finnish Navy

The Finnish Navy shall be split into two operational fleets; the Rannikkolaivasto, operating on the Baltic Sea and the Valtamerilaivasto, operating from bases on Kola peninsula on the North Atlantic. Navy budget shall be increased in the following years, and the Republic of Finland looks forward to establishing an efficient naval force and naval aviation. We would be interested in acquiring surplus naval ships from our European allies.

Naval facilities will be expanded at Turku and Muurmanni, which shall serve as our primary naval bases.

As we feel it is in the best interests for China, the People's Republic of China has officially applied for Non-Aligned Movement.


Today, Mao has announced a new "Reconstruction" program will be initiated to help rebuild Chinese industry and infrastructure.

The Chinese have also announced basic researching will be done for a new Air-Defense Program, a program that will be started after China has mostly recovered.
When the program is complete, we hope to be able to mostly protect many key areas in China from bombing raids.

In a entirely unsurprising turn of events, Canadian Prime Minister Louis St Laurent was forced to resign after he proclaimed Canada a republic without the approval of Parliament. It was thought that his declaration was the result of a spat with Prime Minister Attlee and a furious public outcry swiftly forced him from office. Noted conservative Quebecois politician and war hero Georges-Philéas Vanier was elected in a special election and St Laurent's damage undone. Meanwhile the Romanian government was toppled by a surge of anti-communist protests after the fall of the USSR. The troops called in to put down the protesters swiftly turned against their master and forced out the Stalinist government. Truly surprising however was the interim government's move to invite the deposed King Michael back as King of Romanians; which he duly accepted.

On the other side of Europe, the conservative Party for Lithuanian Salvation secured a cool electoral victory in the Lithuanian fall elections. As a result the Lithuanian throne was quietly offered to the German nobleman Duke Karl of Urach, son of Duke Wilhelm of Urach. Wilhelm was briefly crowned King Mindaugas II by a German puppet government in WWI and his son was considered the legitimate heir. He too accepted and was crowned King Mindaugas III of Lithuania.

And in surprise elections held in Taiwan and Fujian, Chiang Kai-Shek was voted out as darkhorse candidate Zheng Zhenduo -a Fujian native- was elected as the new President of the Republic of China. This resulted in a burst of popular support for the ROC in Fujian; which was now considered as loyal as Taiwan. The subsequent election of Soong Ching-ling, widow of Sun Yat-sen and a popular political figure, also leading to a rise in support for the KMT across China.

With massive losses in popular support, the PLA has stopped all counter-offensives and is now preparing a defense against any Nationalist charges, as many PLA soldiers are trying to dig in. As communism seems now weaker than ever, the odds of regaining support in Fujian are becoming smaller each day. The PRC government will make one last stand to win the popularity war in China, before the Nationalists outnumber us once again. The People's Liberation Army has issued a massive recruitment campaign in Northern China to combat the KMT armies.

The United States of America announces that the current actions taken by the KMT Government of the Republic of China are not support, nor will they be, by the United States of America. Talks between both of these powers have brought us to non-intervention. This is an internal Chinese affair, one in which the United States shall not act against. In regards to the former Soviet Union, the United States Congress, acting in both my guidance and in the best interest of the people there, have authorised the slowing of Marshal Plan aid to Europe, and sending it instead to the former Soviet Union to begin to help build, and repair, the broken country. The United States of America takes responsibility for the actions taken against the former Soviet Union and will work to restore the population and the infrastructure of that nation.

The Kingdom of Lithuania has decided due to the lack of any civil Authority within the Former Belorussian SSR to move in to restore order and reinstate the claim to the region as inherited from the old Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Already Lithuanian units have occupied several Belorussian towns without incident and soon the entire territory will be under Lithuanian control.
