The nations of the world immediately fell upon the Soviet corpse. Finnish troops crossed quickly into the RSSU's territory; however the Karelian Group was stymied by heavy guerilla resistance in the Karelian Isthmus. The Lapland Group moved north with little trouble and managed to occupy the peninsula with ease. An attempt by the British to set up a Republic of Russia failed miserably due to lack of guidance, planning or organisation and the endeavour quickly failed. British reinforcements to the Leningrad theatre were scant and only added to the slow body mill which the communist guerillas created. Italian reinforcements and aid never materialised. A attempted French landing near Leningrad was easily repelled and the French ships that were to comprise a blockade were forced to retreat into warm waters. Meanwhile, Turkish troops moved seamlessly into the former Soviet Georgian territory of Adjara and annexed it into the Turkish Republic despite Ukrainian protests.
In China, things fared little better. A Nationalist recruitment campaign in Fujian failed miserably as the ROC soldiers were seen as nothing but puppets of the Imperialists who bombed Fuzhou. An overconfident march on Beijing also failed as the Nationalist forces came across several well-organised and equipped PLA divisions who quickly forced them back to their Fujian beachhead with heavy losses. A communist counter-attack succeeded in cutting off several southern ports but not in shaking the ROC grip on Fujian.
An American assault across the Bering Strait succeeded in occupying and annexing the outlying islands and the southernmost portion of the Kamchatka peninsula into Alaska; to 'protect American interests and bring civilisation back to these areas'. As the peninsula had been devastated by the American nuclear bombings the move was controversial but ultimately accepted.

The people in this area are largely secular Muslims and are divided from the authoritarian Islamist government of Pakistan by India. We seek to liberate these people from Pakistani oppression. This day, is a historical day for Canada, for too long Canada has been a colony of the British. We have heard your cries, we have made decisions and we have come to a conclusion.
On this day, August 17th 1950, Canada is no longer a British colony. We will no longer have to see the Union Jack on our flag, but a maple leaf that represents Canada.
The Canadian and British government have made a decision on unifying Newfoundland and Labrador with Canada, any people living in Newfoundland and Labrador do have the option to either move to Great Britain or become citizens of Canada. A Liberal party will be the provincial government of NF & L since the current Federal party is Liberal.
We hope to maintain a strong relationship with the UK, we are sorry that this had to have happened, the people spoke and we reacted.

Due to the recent events around the world, the current force stationed in Korea will be sent back to Canada immediately, this also includes our naval force.
The Canadian forces will also be mobilized, the men and women of Canada are encouraged to sign up. The Canadian government wishes to strength our borders on all sides.
We expect our military to increase from one hundred thousand troops to 1.1 million . We will be increasing out navy from 50 ships to 120, consisting of 2 carriers, 40 frigates, 20 destroyers, 10 submarines, 20 coastal patrol vessels, 10 corvettes, 8 amphibious assault ships and 10 minesweepers.
For years Canadian scientist and workers have been developing a new aircraft for the Canadian Air-force, we have finally finished building and testing it. Ladies and Gentleman of Canada and the International community, I present to you, the Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow Interceptor.
The Canadian Air-Force will be getting 200 of these new aircraft, as well as 100 Sikorsky H-19 multi-purpose transport aircraft.
We plan for this project to be finished in 1965-1970.

Great Citizens of the Russian Soviet Socialist Union. I know there are many problems but they are not our fault. They are the faults of the old leadership of the USSR who created enormous problems and the imperialists who brought it down. But I would have no quarrel with the imperialists if they had just let us be but no they have decided like in 1918 to try and strangle communism in it's second Russian cradle hoping to bring down our state before we could have any chance of stabilizing. I urge you to rally behind the Red banner for a new better Russia which cares about the People and not just the State as it did under Stalin.

In a recent statement I told that the Canadian forces would be mobilized to 1.1 million men, this mobilization will only last for 6 months due to recent escalations in threats by other nations. After 6 months we will downgrade to 500,000 and then after another year we will downgrade to 200,00 and remain there.

To the International Community
The Canadian government has made the decision to join the Euro Alliance.
Due to the current war in Russia, the Canadian forces will be sending the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, 5th Armoured Division and the 2nd regiment of the 1st Canadian Artillery Division to aid in the current war against Russia.
A Naval force consisting of 4 destroyers, 12 multi-role patrol boats and 2 submarines will be sent to help in the naval blockade.
10 Avro Arrows will aid in mission over Leningrad.

The Kingdom of Germany is quite shocked over the recent actions undertaken by the United States of America. While we have no sympathies for the governments of the afflicted nations, we send our sincere condolences to the actual people living under these regimes. With this message in mind, the Kingdom of Germany is distraught to see her German brothers subjugated within the GDR and Austria, and in danger of similar attacks in the future, and our brothers are always welcomed to join us in union.
This newly-created "European Alliance" is quite interesting, and the Kingdom of Germany inquires over possible membership.

Two weeks after the initial assault; the renewed attack began. Segments of the Lapland group continue to maintain their grip on the city Soviet city of Murmansk as the bulk of their forces advanced southwards along the Murmansk-Leningrad railway; supported by a British division which had comprised a portion of the British Occupation Forces in the UK's mandate. To counter this threat the Soviet authorities began a campaign of conscription; pulling from the working pool in Leningrad and adding at least another 12,000 'soldiers' to the 'Red Army' who were in reality nothing less than poorly-trained meatshields. Unluckily for the Finns however a Finnish air-strike based from Lappeenranta, Utti and Helsinki-Malmi failed due to the advanced AA defenses that had previously protected Leningrad from destruction. A Canadian strike similarly failed with over half the force lost.An allied amphibious landing was successful in deploying a variety of forces to the Karelian Isthmus however a planned naval bombardment of Leningrad was cancelled after the naval task force was forced into port by the might of the Soviet Baltic Fleet which had retained its pre-war strength and was comfortably within the control of the RSSU. However the reinforcements which the landing provided came to a total of eight full-strength foreign divisions in addition to the Finnish forces. French paratroopers landing south of Leningrad also provided support. A simultaneous assault on Leningrad quickly began from the north and south at the same time. French marine brigades and Royal Marines commandos were sent to storm the city, while air forces bombard enemy troops there. Soviets forces put up a fierce resistance but were swiftly crushed by superior force, training, and firepower.
Finnish territory formerly claimed before the Winter War were quietly ceded to Finland as British forces once again established a Russian Republic to nominally control the territories of the former Soviet Union. Based in the re-christened St Petersburg the Republic was headed by Mikhail Preobrazhensky; a former Red Army colonel hardened into an anti-communist and anti-RSSU partisan after the American-Soviet War. Although the aged Alexander Kerensky returned from New York to serve as Procurator General and Head of State for the new Republic, his unpopularity was leveled out by the choice of Preobrazhensky as Premier and Head of Government. Although control over most of Russia was nominal; the new regime was eager to get back on its feet.

The communists look down on the Kuomintang, as they continuously try to win a war they never will win. As the PLA has halted most Nationalist efforts to advance further across the mainland, Marshal Zhu De has announced that "The Nationalists will have empty transports when they retreat.", as we choose to increase efforts to cut off the supply line in all Nationalist occupied land.
