A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away...
Utapau. Obi-Wan's battle with General Grievous has brought the two combatants onto the landing platform where Grievous's starfighter rests. Grievous picks up the Jedi and bodily hurls him toward the edge of the cliff. Kenobi makes a desperate grab for the cliff's edge, calling on the Force for assistance, but he has just a little too much momentum. His hand missing the edge by mere millimeters, Obi-Wan falls off the platform and into the water at the bottom of the sinkhole far below. Grievous boards his fighter and soars off toward space. With Boga's aid, Obi-Wan extracts himself from the sinkhole and notifies Cody, hoping that the fleet above Utapau can intercept Grievous before he enters hyperspace. Unfortunately, the droid general blows past the hastily formed blockade and makes his escape.
Because Kenobi has been delayed by his fall, back on Coruscant Mace Windu is still waiting in the Jedi comm center for word from Utapau about Grievous when Anakin bursts in to inform Windu of Palpatine's true identity. Mace tells Anakin to remain in the Temple and promptly takes Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin, and Agen Kolar with him to arrest the Chancellor. Having failed in his mission, Obi-Wan attempts to contact Windu to inform him of Grievous's escape. Instead, he finds a distraught Anakin in the comm center and tries to console him and find out what's wrong. Naturally, Obi-Wan is shocked beyond words to hear that Palpatine is likely the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. But Anakin's distress indicates that something more is troubling him, so Obi-Wan probes Anakin for more.
Anakin's pride and desire to keep secret his forbidden love had previously prevented him from telling his former Master of his relationship with Padmé. (Obi-Wan is not dense, though, and knows, or at least suspects, their involvement with one another.) However, Anakin, in his fragile state, finally reveals to Obi-Wan his relationship with Padmé, his fear for her death during childbirth as in his vision, and his belief that Palpatine's Sith knowledge may be her only savior. Obi-Wan tells Anakin that the Sith are nothing but treachery and lies and that Palpatine is playing Anakin, most likely using his fear of Padmé's death to turn him to the dark side and replace Dooku as his apprentice. This plants a seed of doubt in Anakin, who, however reluctantly, begins to recognize the possibility of Obi-Wan's claim. Still unsure whether to trust his friend Palpatine or Obi-Wan and the Jedi, Anakin tears off after Windu to either help or stop him, leaving Obi-Wan talking to a dead line.
Anakin arrives at the Chancellor's Office to find three Jedi Masters down and Mace alone clashing swords with Palpatine. When Mace appears to have Palpatine on the ropes, with his saber at the Sith Lord's throat, Anakin realizes there is a choice he must make. Obi-Wan's words echo in his head, and, as he ignites his lightsaber, Anakin asks Palpatine rhetorically: "You can't really help her, can you?" The Sith Lord, suddenly realizing Anakin has chosen the Jedi (something he least expected), issues forth a tremendous burst of Force lightning, knocking Mace and Anakin back into the office. Both Jedi partially block the attack with their swords, and then combine their powers, using the Force to shove Palpatine away. The Chancellor sails through the open window and plummets into the darkness below.
Anakin is too dazed and stunned to do much of anything at this point. Mace calls for medical aid for the fallen Jedi Masters and informs security of Palpatine's fall. Mace and Anakin are willingly taken into custody as the search begins for Palpatine's body in the streets beneath the building. With Republic security unsure of whom to trust, Vice Chancellor Mas Amedda is also taken into custody until things can be sorted out. This leaves him unable to issue Order 66, if indeed Amedda even knew of the Chancellor's identity as a Sith and his plan to decimate the Jedi Order. The Jedi cooperate fully with authorities and make no move to seize the apparatus of government. A long and thorough sweep of the surrounding area turns up not a trace of the Chancellor, leaving all in doubt as to his whereabouts.
The fallout from the battle in the Chancellor's Office has only just begun....
How to Play
Welcome everyone to my first attempt at creating a Star Wars experience! Inspired by previous Star Wars game hosts, Tapscott and Noco19, Guardians of Peace will be orientated around a mixture of roleplay, player interaction and choices, mini's and the likes all set in the most tumultuous period of the Galactic Republic: the Clone Wars. In-character (IC) posts will be the most important way to influence story, but I will also provide mini's for extra flavor and feel.

Game Mechanics
As far as statistics go I will not be including player statistics for now, but I will be including important elements for the major factions (and any new ones should they form), such as the numbers of the Grand Army of the Republic, Separatist Army as well as their respective navies. I do feel they are important and should hold some weight as the conflict is still very much alive at this point.
As far as orders and the likes go I will allow them for any big events (ie. a battle, a campaign, a political move, etc.) and post a mini with the effects and the likes. Otherwise that for now I do not intend for any yearly update or so and will instead progress time in as best a manner as I can.
General Guidelines
- No metagaming, powergaming, etc.
- Keep it PG-16. I don't mind some romantic elements and gritty stuff, but don't go overboard.
- Our Graceful Overlords at Paradox Interactive and their rules apply.
- And a whole bunch of other stuff.
