This is a short, weekend long game inspired by Forum of the Dead and Starship Troopers. You are a commander in the Federal Armed Services, ranked Major or Higher, on the eve of the First Battle of Klendathu, and you all will have your own objectives to fulfill over the course of the Battle. You communicate with the rest of the invasion force using the FedNet (ie, posting in the thread), a highly advanced instantaneous network which both allows all branches of the Service to co-ordinate, and allows the public to tune in and watch the battle unfold for themselves.

The Game will take place hopefully next weekend, or ASAP if enough people join, and will probably last a few days as it is representing a realistic-ish strategic situation.

You are expected to give orders through FedNet to your subordinates and try to successfully complete your objectives. As the Battle progresses, you will need to make extremely difficult decisions if the situation begins to deteriorate. There will be a very clear command chain, which you will be penalized for if you disobey, and players will be placed in a variety of different ranks and branches. Most importantly, however, you must do your Federation proud. Do Your Part!

Rear Admiral said those words over twenty years ago. He had had a relatively easy quiet career. The two notable achievements in his career were defending an inner-colony from a pirates that stole a star ship. How the pirates were able to steal one to this day remains a mystery but Fitzgerald was able to bait the rouge ship into an asteroid field where his drop ships were able to board and commandeer the rouge vessel without having to destroy it.

Another note worthy achievement was when a number of bug spore pods were launched at one of the outer-colony. it was estimated over 200 spore pods were on a collision course with the planet. Fitzgerald intercepted the bulk with a nuke and was able to dispatch fighter wings to mop up the rest before the rest managed to break the atmosphere.

Personal Achievements and History: For 20 years Emile has served with distinction in the fleet serving the Federation with the loyalty expected of a citizen. Much of his early career saw him providing support for MI operations in Federation space, however his most notable achievement came during one of these seemingly routine assignments. Civilian dissenters on one of the colonies threatened to destabilize the order of the Federation on the planet. The resulting pacification mission was relatively simple, with Teague's vessel among those blockading the system while the riots were put down. This was achieved fairly quickly however in the commotion the ringleaders of these so called "legitimate protests" had evaded the blockade and escaped off-world. Many thought they would escape but Teague managed to intercepted their vessel and apprehended the criminals. Thanks to his efforts not only did they face due justice but evidence was uncovered linking them to similar groups on 4 others worlds, the leaders of which were also quickly taken in custody for trial.
This gained Teague some notoriety and when word came of the plans to invade Klandethu he eagerly rendezvoused with the invasion fleet.

FedNet Spotlight: Mobile Infantry 45th "Kraken" Corps

Fresh out of Boot Camp, the 45th "Kraken" Corps of the 701st Mobile Infantry is a unit at the forefront of the War on the Bug Aggressor. Every single man and women of the 45th are ready to take charge and earn their place as Citizens of Humanity. As we speak, they are being armed with top of the line weaponry and training in preparation for the Invasion of Klendathu.

Take for example the Morita Service Rifle, equipped with automatic, semi-automatic, and shotgun utilities. A single, well placed shot from a Morita to the nerve stem of an Arachnid will put it down for good. Good Work, Fellas!

And if that's not enough, we've got a whole Mobile Infantry full of them! Military Experts have claimed that thanks to modern tactical advances and mass fire strategies, there will be less than 100 causalities during the entire Invasion of Klendathu. In fact, some sources from inside the Mobile Infantry say that it will surprising if there is even a single soldier that loses their life! However, we still cannot understate the bravery and courage of the men and women of the Mobile Infantry, even with their very high chance of victory, and for that FedNet can only salute them.

Key to the 45th Corps success will be their several specialized Brigade branches. First of all is the Good Ol' Fashioned Infantry. Their job is to clear the planet surface of any Bugs, take down any Plasma Bugs that might threaten the Federation Fleet, and do the dirty work that the Federation needs to be done!

Second is the Engineer Brigade. Their job is to set up forward bases, set explosives, keep the Mobile Infantry supplied, and do the technical jobs the other Infantry can't do! Within the 45th "Kraken" Corps, there is one dedicated Engineer Brigade.

And finally, there's the best of the best, the Marauders. These are the best soldiers the Federation can offer, whose job is to push the frontline forward and take down the big bugs, raid Bug Holes, and make sure we kick 'em while they're down! They have the ability to act independently, and so they can make sure they can do their jobs to their best ability, without interference from central command.
