2284 September-December Update
With peace being declared between the NCR and Legion, Hanlon now begins moving NCR citizens to Californian locations south of Boulder City. Although half of the Dams output was supposed to go to the Legion Hanlon uses an executive order to ensure that the output of the Dam does not change from at all. In mid-October Hanlon takes Bear Force One to Zion were he meets with the Burned Man and the two famed warriors come to an agreement. The New Canaanites are now being supplied with cheap Californian arms giving them an edge against the White Legs. In return NCR businesses are allowed to exploit the untouched resources of Zion National Park. In California itself the government begins ordering the construction of factories and finds laborers in order to reopen several mines. This move means that in a few years they will be able to out produce any other nation in the west.

General Lee traveled back to California following the peace treaty with the Legion. Upon arrival he was greeted by a celebrating crowd which thanked him for his services in the Mojave. Moving his headquarters to Shady Sands he continued training the Californian army in melee combat. On the orders of President Hanlon, Lee oversaw the construction of a new solar power plant in Southern California. Things go well but construction may take up to two years to finish. Hearing rumors about the destruction of the Enclave Lee sends a team of rangers north to investigate. They return home with conformation of the destruction of Portland Bunker though otherwise empty handed.

Caesar dispatches his extraordinarri to ravage Elijah’s officer corps though due to a hyped up sense of security following the assassination attempt on Elijah it becomes very hard to get close enough to kill any officers. Caesar also dispatches small bands of frumentarii to harass Elijah’s supply lines. These raids are highly successful but one of the bands returns with extremely disturbing news. A liberty prime class robot was spotted approaching Cabo carrying what looked to be around 100,000 caps on its back. In the Legion heartland the bureaucracy continues to be revitalized and is now back at its status pre revolt.

Legate Lanius continues leading his legion south towards Cabo. Using scouts to check the roads ahead and insure that things look safe the armies pace quickens significantly. Eventually reaching Cabo to do battle there to their surprise a Liberty Prime is sighted. Instead of attempting to take the city in a costly frontal assault Lanius instead surrounds the city. His hope is to starve the defenders out although this will take some time. Back in Arizona the other half of the Legion has been busy pacifying the populace and things now look much like they did before the revolt. The Legate has masterminded a new program buying slaves and indoctrinating them creating a caste higher then slaves but lower then soldiers. This practice has proved to be very unpopular among the remaining slaves who see it as unjust, as a result of this they have been very unproductive over the past few months.

In Vegas House has been very busy. Buying huge amounts of scrap metal he has begun production on 3,000 new units of MKII securitrons. This order will take almost a year to complete. House displeased over the NCR Legion treaty sends his liberty prime and 100,000 caps to Cabo were he wants the robot to assist in the coming battle. Lastly in an act which will trigger a war between the Legion and Vegas House, dispatched 1,000 securitrons across the Mojave. Catching Legion soldiers unaware Legion positions from Hoover to Mesquite fall into House’s hands. NCR troops at Boulder and Hoover Dam are shocked when they see House’s robots mowing down their Legion counterparts.

Jenna Monroe head elder of the Midwestern Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel begins September by ordering 500 paladins and 2,000 knights to the northern border. Were they are immediately tested coming under sporadic sniper fire from mutant positions further north. In addition she sends a few teams of scouts north to probe mutant defenses. They report that the regular mutant should be nothing to worry about it’s the nightkin that should be the chapter’s real concern. This is because the Brotherhood at this time has nothing to counter them. Back in Bunker Alpha 500 recruits are trained into real soldiers by the knights on duty there.

Seeking something beyond the extent of the Nevada, the Mojave Chapter sends forth a scout due east, tasked with something unbeknownst to observers. While hopes for a swift return are had, the scout is yet to return. A flurry of activity is found within Goodsprings again, as the city is expanded, the city walls rising higher seemingly every day. Although quite a cost, the citizens feel safer from the harsh wastes. Five-hundred Paladins, alongside thirty Knights, march north along the Long 15 Highway. The region, infested with Powder Gangers, has long been lawless, a nuisance to locals and stronghold of criminal activity. Although the original plan entailed an attack on the Powder Gangers, and a besieging of Vault 19, the Brotherhood was surprised at a near-immediate surrender, as the Powder Gangers, smarter than was believed, had to no intentions on being exterminated by superior firepower.

Dedicated to their forays into the world of science, the Mutants of Jacobstown strike a deal with the Followers of the Apocalypse, exchanging information of Duraframe Eyebot technology and ED-E datafiles, in return for the Followers’ expertise and monetary compensation. Satisfied, the agreement is finalized, with both sides benefitting. A stunning discovery is found by Jacobstown researchers, establishing a historic moment for Supermutants, the long awaited completion a cure, mending the fissures of Supermutant intelligence so oft found lacking. Tests, repeated for confirmation, show success, with a marked improvement the mind, opening new possibilities for the once-dim future of Mutantkind. A salvage expedition, organized by Jacobstown, goes smoothly, with nary a thing of note.

FEV Implants, a subject of much scientific examination by the old Enclave, are thoroughly researched by the Union, with clinical application prepped and ready to go. A project of little importance is finished, with only the Union apparently knowledgeable. Utilizing a clear advantage over the backwater tribals bordering the superior Union territories, rapid expansion into Washington, Idaho, and Montana is achieved with little to no losses reported. Union generals are well congratulated in such triumphs, as the Union itself expands.

Far away from the potato farms of Idaho, another project of similar obscurity is finished, this one by Elijah and his followers. Firing up his rhetoric, Elijah inspires a sense of haste and fervour into his followers, uplifting them spirituality, at least he claims, and physically. Soon enough, what was once 3,000 followers became increasingly trained soldiers, an improvement for sure. With Cabo under a Legion siege from the Monster of the East, the Golden Bull flying high in the sky, mixed emotions of hope and despair could be seen in her defenders. That was, until Liberty Prime, a repurposed Communist-squashing robotic soldier arrived. With immense offensive capabilities, and a cash prize in tow for Elijah, the balance of power violently shifted away from Lanius’ Legion.

Making good use on their New Californian friendship, the Mormons and their less-civilized allies purchase service rifles from merchant Gun Runners. Skirmishes in the future will showcase great strides in Mormon armament. Sensing valuable exploitation opportunities in Zion Canyon, mineral scouts are dispatched, searching for minerals of worth. Sure enough, a literal gold mine of wealth is found, providing a bountiful harvest. Many speculate that increased work on mining can provide greater yields. Confident, the Mormons launch an attack against the aggressive White Legs tribe. Expectations, derived from initial success, fall flat as the momentum of battle stalls, and blood is shed on both sides. Despite Mormon efforts, Salt-Upon-Wounds, Chief of the White Legs, escapes along with most of his tribe towards the south, into Legion lands. Tallying the casualties, sorrow is well felt in the numerous losses.

Diligent in his efforts of self-preservation, the elusive assassin Slade, spends time refining his techniques and training. Increasing his agility across the ruins of the Mojave, and fortifying his mind through scenarios found within a purchased Pre-War book. Effects are quite evident, and it is concluded that his time was well spent indeed, as the next to face the blade of Slade will face off against an expert. Perhaps this training was also demonstrated on the job as well, as news from The Strip makes headlines, even earning a ten-minute piece from the beloved Mister New Vegas. While many reports are sketchy, one thing is clear - Big Sal and Nero, bosses of the Omerta family, have been murdered. Official word from Gomorrah employees was scarce, given their shady backstory, but various guests provided their own accounts of a “sword-wielding maniac” who somehow evaded the front desk guard, entered into the casino, and “sliced that weasel Nero across the waist, and decapitated Big Sal like an animal.” Strip authorities are baffled.
[-1,000 caps from Slade, Increased speed, +1 on escape rolls, +50,000 caps to Slade, Big Sal and Nero are dead, Gomorrah under new management]
