Ground Situation:
Alpha - 2nd / 5th retreated in the face of an enemy attack with light casualties.
Bravo - No hostilities occurred
Charlie - An Airstrike of the USAF caused minor casualties among the enemy.
Delta - An enemy attack was repelled, causing serious casualties among the enemies. During this attack, the squad of PFC Marcos Hernandez from B-Company / 3rd Battalion / 5th Regiment got isolated. With the Platoon Sergeant killed and two Corporals wounded, PFC Hernandez took command, coordinated actions with his company CO and personally led a counterattack to regain previously lost territory. For extraordinary heroism in combat Battalion CO recommended him for a Navy Cross.
Echo - The enemy assault continued to gain significant ground despite the support of a Tank Battalion, which itself suffered serious casualties and had to be returned to the Reserve again immediately. The FOB at Hawthorne Airport has been completely evacuated.
Foxtrot - An enemy attack was repelled with high casualties on both sides. During this action, an LAV of the 2nd Recon Battalion was hit and disabled. Sergeant William Simmons from B-Company / 1st Battalion / 1st Regiment left cover, approached the vehicle while being under enemy fire and rescued the surviving but wounded crew member. For gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States Battalion CO recommended Sergeant Williams for a Silver Star.
1st Division had 85 casualties, thereof 28 dead, and received 74 replacements. The enemy had probably higher casualties.
Air Situation:
The USAF had to take more losses recently. Nevertheless the Superiority rating remains at 1.
Support Troops:
1st and 2nd Recon Battalion and 3 Air Wing are reporting for duty.
Tank Battalion as well as 1st and 2nd Air Wing will be available at 10:30 PM.
