I am happy to this military bill passed, especially as it seems Europe is exploding. I am also agree with the sentiments of the Chancellor; let's avoid getting the Fatherland in a conflict it may need to get involved in.

Austria delivers Ultimatum to Serbian Government!​

The Austro-Hungarian Government has delivered an ultimatum to the Kingdom of Serbia today, asking them to agree to the following points:

1. Suppress all publications which "incite hatred and contempt of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy" and are "directed against its territorial integrity".
2. Dissolve the Serbian nationalist organisation "Narodna Odbrana" ("The People's Defense") and all other such societies in Serbia.
3. Eliminate without delay from schoolbooks and public documents all "propaganda against Austria-Hungary".
4. Remove from the Serbian military and civil administration all officers and functionaries whose names the Austro-Hungarian Government will provide.
5. Accept in Serbia "representatives of the Austro-Hungarian Government" for the "suppression of subversive movements".
6. Bring to trial all accessories to the Archduke's assassination and allow "Austro-Hungarian delegates" (law enforcement officers) to take part in the investigations.
7. Arrest Major Voja Tankosić and civil servant Milan Ciganović who were named as participants in the assassination plot.
8. Cease the cooperation of the Serbian authorities in the "traffic in arms and explosives across the frontier"; dismiss and punish the officials of the at Shabatz Loznica frontier service, "guilty of having assisted the perpetrators of the Sarajevo crime".
9. Provide "explanations" to the Austro-Hungarian Government regarding "Serbian officials" who have expressed themselves in interviews "in terms of hostility to the Austro-Hungarian Government".
10. Notify the Austro-Hungarian Government "without delay" of the execution of the measures comprised in the ultimatum.

The Serbian Government has expressed its distaste to the document, but it is possible that they might accept with the urging of the Russian Empire. This story is still developing and unless they reject or deny this ultimatum will be known within a few hours.

OOC: That was much too fast! Those are the historical demands, which doesn't even make sense. We didn't give Austria a blank check this time in support, so they would never have gone through with those demands since we haven't said we supported them! Think Fry, Austria cannot afford a war without Germany at its side. Is there any way you can so these things down in such moments of crisis so that our cabinet can respond accordingly (i.e., the foreign minister or chancellor negotiate with the austrians over those demands)?

I cannot in good conscience support those demands. They constitute a violation of Serbian sovereignty, and even though the act again Austria was horrible, this is not deserved. They need to moderate their demands if they want us to give them German support on this issue! I will not see the German Empire waste the lives of its young and proud men, merely because Austria was intent on burning Serbia to the ground by proposing unacceptable demands!

I strongly advise the Chancellor to instruct our foriegn minister to request Russia support the Austrian some of the demands on Serbia; no-one wants war, and we must do our best to prevent this from escalating.

I agree that some of them go too far, but most of them are pragmatic.

I agree that these demands are outrageous. If this leads to an Austro-Hungarian war with Russia, I say we leave them to it.

I, Kaiser Wilhelm II, support the Austrian demands. We cannot allow such actions to go unpunished, the Serbians cannot kill Austrians and expect to get away with it.

Of course they cannot go unpunished, but any sensible man can see these go too far!

Surely we can pressure our Austrian allies to withdraw the couple of demands which constitute the largest breach of sovereignty? We do not want war! Or perhaps some of you had forgotten that? 1, 5, and 6 are particularly unacceptable.

OOC: Its not fun when you end up losing that war and have a Versailles treaty foisted upon an empire, along with crippling your own country. Sure, you can go have some fun, but in the end the best course for Germany is peace right now, or at the most, limited war. Not to mention you have openly admitted to me you wish to see chaos visited upon Germany, hence your attempted SDP chancellor.
