The Iron Captain

Victarion stood outside the tent of Duncan Baratheon. He glanced over his shoulder at the stout castle of Tumbleton, smoke of a dozen hearths rising from the town surrounding it. This trial was a farce, Victarion knew, as he gently stroked the pommel of his sword. His guards were stone faced as they looked back upon the Mander River, where their ship awaited. A year at sea and his men yearned to be home... He thought he would as well, but truth be told, the Iron Isles seemed of little importance to him, a mere step stone for bigger things. What, he could not say.

"Lord Bartheon will see you now," said a courtier, opening the flap of the tent. "Two guards may accompany you."

"No need." Victarion signaled his men away and entered the tent alone.

Inside was Duncan Baratheon, sitting at a table, rising to greet him. His reputation spoke of a man as large as a bear, terrible to face in battle. He lived up to his expectations, this man whom defeated his brother in the tourney of Castamere. Victarion gave a stiff bow in greeting. "Lord Duncan Baratheon. Captain Victarion Greyjoy, of the Iron Fleet. Your exile from the council was unjust. I hope no ill feelings hold between our houses."

Baratheon signaled a chair opposite of him. "Captain Greyjoy. Not your fault. It was the king."

"Ah yes, the King. Long may he reign," smiles Victarion, taking a seat. "I wonder what the songs will sing of Aegon after we are long burned from the world, or in the deeps of the sea? Aegon the Absent seems likely." The smile of Victarion persists.

Baratheon mumbled a few choice insults under his breath. "What can I do for you, Captain?"

"I come to discuss what no doubt holds in your mind, my lord. Far away I've been, but I still have eyes to see. Can I assume what is discussed here remains among trusted ears?"

"Of course, I trust all here."

Victarion took a glass of offered wine, letting the blood red liquid swirl in the glass before he drank, his free hand instinctively resting upon the pommel of his sword. The wine was sweet on his tongue. Very good...

A look of anger could be seen on Tyrell's face, clear for them all to see.

"Lord Footly, send your son with a retinue to stop them, inform Lord Frey that should he continue riding then his accusations against the King will be seen as slander, as he is not willing to stay during the trial. Furthermore inform him that he would be accused of lying to the court and judges appointed by the King, and thus hindering the Kings Justice, and that he leaves the court while having been given expressed orders not to without a written permission, and as such in defiance of the Court. If he refuses to return then your son is not to engage in combat with him, but let him leave"

House Footly

My Lord Tyrell,

My men and I have stopped the Frey rabble north of the castle. I fear they were a mere diversion, as the disgraced Lord Frey is not among them. I have dispatched scouts to the surrounds in search.
Fear not, my lord. I will find the outlaw.

~Ser Lyonel Footly

((Lord Frey has escaped, his location unknown. 30 Knights of the Frey Household are in the custody of House Tyrell.))

Willem remained at his seat, not really understanding the motive for such comotion. They could easily assume Lord Frey as guilty and send a taskforce to siege The Crossing.

"My lords, I'd suggest that Lord Tully should command his banners to mobilize at once and to lay siege on every Frey holding. This way we can put a quick end to it, preventing any further annoyance against the King's Peace and the King's Justice."

"In the name of Aegon, the Fourth of this Name, of House Targaryen, the King of Andals and Rhoynar and the First Men, etc

I, Beric of the House Darklyn, the Lord of Duskendale, the Master of Laws to His Grace the King decree the following:

It is known that Lord Adam Frey has, contrary to the requirement of the High Court over Lord Utherydes Tully, set by His Grace the King in Tumbleton, has left the place of judicial proceedings, Tumbleton againt the permission of the High Court.

It known that Lord Frey has commited deeds and issued statements that infringe the interests and dignity of the Crown (of which Lord Frey has confessed himself), why I, as the legal representative of the Iron Throne, accuse him of misuse of powers, conspiracy and slander against the Crown.

All lords, knights and good men of the Seven Kingdom should know that Lord Adam Frey must be brought before the Kings Justice as soon as possible.

((That's enough with the twins guys. I don't mind them being used to further your IC story, but seems like it's now being used as an exploit for prospective alliances down the road - which is silly considering that after the next increase, I am keeping alliances at this level for the foreseeable generation, plus PC alliances will likely prove totally unreliable anyway.))

Judgment

Willas stood up from his chair and took a step forward looking at Lord Tully ”Lord Tully, you have been charged with treason as well as offense against the King, Aegon IV.

On the account of treason we find the evidence against you to be bare at best, and nonexistent at worst, and as such you are hereby found innocent of any charge of treason.

On the charges of offense against the King, due to the evidence presented and the words within your letters makes the charges appear legitimate and as such we find you guilty. However due to several descriptions of your Lordships person, then we are inclined to believe that there was no malice intend behind the words. Despite this then the offense was still committed, as such we place it upon you to deliver an apology to His Majesty, either here in front of this court and its witnesses or before the Iron Throne a fortnight from now, we also fine you a token sum of 25 gold dragons.

((Lord Tully is fined 25 gold dragons, as well as charged with delivering an apology in front of the realm to King Aegon IV))

((And thus, the trial ends. I'd like to say that the events leading up to the trail were really well done. The ICs really captured the atmosphere of a realm being hurled toward war. As far as the trial, good job to the judges and those of you who were involved. Sneaky did great as an IC moderator and kept the proceedings moving along nicely. I would also like to recognize Bab who stuck by his character even after such a grave failed plot and is intent on taking him through the aftermath of his failed actions. There are a couple things I wish to accomplish this turn before I set a deadline for orders, so feel free to take your time and write an IC or three!))

Qarro Fiero
First Sword of Braavos

Lord Ronnel Arryn, Lord Paramount of the Vale, Lord of the Eyrie, Warden of the East, Defender of the Vale,

Valar Morghulis, Lord of the Vale. It shames me to admit that I have been a guest within these six kingdoms for over two years now, and I am naught closer to finding my catch, the vile murderer of Petros Nestor. Though I have tracked a lead into your realm, and I have been guaranteed cooperation by the Iron Throne, my men grow tired of this search, and are deserving of a rest.

I ask permission to raise a camp within the Vale, west of Heart's Home. If you would be so kind to accept, my men would greatly value a rest. I hope I am not being too bold when I ask for a personal respite within the Eyrie, a marvel of a castle that is talked about even among the lords of Braavos. If you would be so kind to host myself and a few attendants, perhaps I could show you a trick or two with a sword, and vice versa.

Of course, myself, and my men, will be at your service during the duration of our stay.

~Qarro Fiero.
First Sword of Braavos.

((Fiero's Company requests to make camp within the Vale, offering their services to the Lord of the Eyrie in exchange.))

The Prince and the King

Usually a calm and levelheaded man, Crown Prince Daeron was filled with a fury of a dragon.

"Your Grace I can't believe you would issue such a decree about my wife being unfaithful, Baelor is my son and she is loyal and faithful" says Daeron.

"Your wife is a Dornish whore, I know there type well" says Aegon.

"I won't stand here and let you insult her, I know this is the work of Tully and Baratheon" says Daeron.

"Think all you want, but just remember, be glad your my, only son" says Aegon storming off.

"Also just in case you would like to know, Mariah gave birth to another son yesterday, his name is Aerys" says Daeron.
