I hear the calls to set up a multi-party investigation committee and while I realise such a step would help clear our name - not that there is any reason to suspect our implication - I do not see how it would help find out the truth easier or make the investigation more objective. Right off the bat, the PSD accused us of murdering Valdez as soon as it was broadcast on the news. Why should they be trusted as an objective partner, for example? Do the opposition parties believe that the police are so corrupt as to hide any hypothetical evidence against us? If that is so, I am entirely willing to involve the other parties - though if the trials after the junta have shown us anything, it's that the establishment is more lenient towards the right, not the left.
To talk about the other problems of the country, it seems that the various mercenary gangs that have afflicted Anetaguay for years now still run freely, despite our best efforts to eradicate them. This is not so surprising considering that the army has diminished significantly during the civil war, with many members of the armed forces deserting or being killed in the struggle. The police also has significant difficulties asserting its authority over the countryside when it is, and has long been poorly equipped and understaffed. Therefore, we intend to rebuild the police and the armed forces as such:

The PLS will vote FOR the Police and Army Expansion Act with the understanding that after it comes into effect the communist party will dissolve any and all paramilitary groups they have ties with as our forces should be more than suitable to deal with the illegal groups in our country.
I am very pleased that my friend, Francisco Medrano, is now the President of Anetaguay. I am confident that this party's support of him in the recent election will not be misplaced.

Economic growth slows as the new quarter begins. The slowing economic growth cause the government to run a deficit of #5.6.
Early in May, some members of the FPU disguised as RDRF members bomb the russian embassy. They are chased by a police patrol and quickly rounded up. Members of the NPU attack a police patrol in the capital, and manage to successfully drive them away; however the patrol only sustains minor casualties; the NPU sustains moderate casualties.
Meanwhile members of the The National Unity Front of Anetaguay attempt to recruit new members. They attempt to infiltrate the police but are easily caught doing so.
The NWU attempts to organize more members, but is unsuccessful in doing so.
Carlos Morante is shot dead while walking to the NPU office in Peru. The killers attempt to flee, but are quickly rounded up and revealed to be members of Anetaguayan Army Intelligence.
After interviewing the owner of the apartment Anastasia Valdez was shot from, the police are able to track down and arrest several members of the FPU for the killing. A PLS investigation concurs with the police assessment.

We call on the Government to stop its cruel policy of charging rent to the Church for use of its seized properties. If the Government is unwilling to return the Church's property to it then the least it can do is not charge rent. This policy is in effect another tax as Anetaguayans give charity to the Church to help the needy and it ends up being used to pay rent to the Government instead.

Secularism & Religion- The Catholic Church is recognized as a major aspect of life but individuals have a right to choose their religion and to worship.
Freedom of Expression- Everyone has the right to express their beliefs and anyone or anything that attempts to impede such must be stopped.
Freedom of Assembly & Protest- Everyone has the right to meet and discuss their beliefs, even protest their dissatisfaction but the moment it crosses into violence it must be stopped.
Nationalism- Anetaguay is a free and proud nation and its people must take pride in it and support it wherever and whenever possible.

We ask permission from the ruling government to return any military personell or member of the FPU that has fled to Peru after the end of the civil war to return to Anetaguay to help us in our effort to rebuild the destroyed urban and agricultural areas.We have clearly shown that after the end of Morante's reign we are more moderate and for once the FPU cares for Anetaguay.
