The realm rejoices as Paradox Interactive announces the launch of Crusader Kings III, the latest entry in the publisher’s grand strategy role-playing game franchise. Real Strategy Requires Cunning

This thread is more than 5 months old.

It is very likely that it does not need any further discussion and thus bumping it serves no purpose. If you feel it is necessary to make a new reply, you can still do so though.

((The following are a list of messages made to the Assembly of Lords by the scouting force dispatched to the Light Basin.))

Scouting Report
Adelbert Von Knapesn
Swornsword to House Celestian

24th of Sun's Shadow 1001 A.E.
It has barely been a week since we departed the Golden City and already three of my men lay dead. The wolves came in the night, with such a ferocity that has never before been seen by my eyes. They care nothing for themselves, and even when I sank my sword into the neck of the alpha wolf, the beasts persisted. It is as if the Dark gives strength and will to these creatures. We still have far to go before we reach Hroniden. I intend to travel light and fast from here and reach the desert before the end of the month.

29th of Sun's Shadow
We have reached Hroniden, and everywhere we hear the rumors of war. Before passing into the desert we came upon an army of Herasnians. They were heading north and gave us all the comforts their camp could provide. They asked if we had come across any of the Goi'Orka Clan in our travels but we have not - only murderous wolves. They claimed they were headed to Three Rivers to take part in the War in the North, but gave us fresh supplies which will be appreciated here in the desert sea.

5th of Snowfall
All Hroniden seems quiet. The nights are getting terribly cold now and I swear I feel something in the dark watching us. My watchers all report all is quiet but I am not so sure... I can feel something watching. Please give our love to our families.

11th of Snowfall
We have been assaulted by Dune Spiders in the night. Seven men were dragged to their doom, and four more sustained horrible bites from which they will not recover. I pray to the Light that something good comes out of this journey.

19th of Snowfall
We have reached the Wilds and have made camp above a ridge with a commanding view of the Ashen Wastes. Great plumes of smoke can be seen in the distance and all the land looks as though it is on fire. There is great evil at work here, I can feel it. Tomorrow we cross into the black land. May the Light guide us.

((No more messages reached the Lords of Light after that, until the ArchMage declared he recovered Knapsen on the 14th of Serpentine))

((Not until after the peace summit))

((What about building and military orders? Or is this a diplomacy-only turn?))

High above the edge of the desert, a blanket of snow covered the citadel of Kogansunan. As he had for weeks, Deagrin Benthorn rose before the sun, watching the shadows slowly weaken on the valley below. From his seat in the Highest Tower, the little villages of men seemed tiny, the nests of some small, frightened animal. He noted with approval that the watch posts on the upper slopes were all manned, their guards peering through looking glasses at the sky or walking their rounds with crossbows ready.

The fortress had been in a state of watchful tension for months. Ever since the lookout reported the mysterious plume of dust on the western horizon, the great gate had been kept shut for any but well known local humans or Kogansunan dwarves returning home. When the scouts returned with reports that the army in the west was none other than their neighbor, the Orc warchief Ra'Gru, it did little to ease minds in the fortress. The Goi'Orka Orcs and Kogansunan Dwarves had lived in peace these past few years, but for centuries longer marauding Orc bands had been the bane of many a Dwarven hold. The messenger raven he sent asking for an explanation returned with only a terse note saying the Orcs were headed south on their own business. Thankfully it turned out to be true.

Still it would take a fool not to see that the country was not safe. With his father away in the forest, if fell to Benthorn to protect the Mountainhome. So he kept the defenses in a state of readiness, even as the surrounding land became unnaturally quiet. The caravans from south and east had both stopped. He had messages of war outside the Golden City and in the southern deserts. This morning he found the least welcome message of all awaiting him.

"Is it true?" a high, breathless voice asked. Benthorn turned to find his wife had climbed the winding stairs to join him. Four months pregnant, she was already easily tired, and he quickly helped her to his chair. Privately he worried how she could hold up to the next eight months before she finally gave birth.

Benthorn had taken to leaving the daily reports and correspondence for her to read. She wanted to play an active role in the affairs of state, and he was glad of the help. He'd debated long on whether to leave this one for her. But she would certainly hear it in time, and this way he would be spared an indignant wife at least.

"I cannot swear it is true. We have only the report of the archmage. But it would explain a great deal." She shuddered despite her heavy coat.

"Under the High Mountain this whole time. So close." She shook her head and stared out into the distance. There was a long silent moment before she turned to him again. "We're safe here, right? The Mountain it's... well, he couldn't get in, could he?"

"My father would say there's no such thing as an impregnable fortress. But Kogansunan survived the last war with him. And there is nowhere in this world where you would be safer." He kissed her forehead gently, his beard tickling her nose. "But that is not to say that we will be idle. There are old defenses that can be rebuilt, now that we have more hands to do the work. I'll meet with the Guildmasters this morning to start the preparations."

"But not right now." She clasped his hand tightly. "Stay up here with me until I catch my breath. Then I'll go downstairs with you and help."

((The turn will not begin until after the peace summit. So no orders yet. I will, however, include Matth34's diplo orders, and do a mini on his results as he is a new player.))

((EDIT: Peace summit update will be up tomorrow - you all need to post here if you or a vassal will be attending the summit by tomorrow, 12:00pm eastern))

A Betrothal

Take off your clothes...

Eylinn lied naked in the stony pool, fully submerged, staring at the sunrays breaking through the water’s surface. Her hair was flowing before her, like seaweed it danced with the ripples of a slow breeze from the west. It was delightfully warm. If it wasn’t for the sharp and rocky floor, she could have stayed here forever. She raised her head above the surface to breathe, only to lower it again. The tropical trees that surrounded the water offered the most amazing visage. Green against blue, a distorted palette from the recent disturbance from her emerge.

...let me look at you...

She sat again. No one could possibly know of this place. It was many miles away from the camp, no fields, no buildings and no trails as far as the eye could see. To the north a waterfall heaved down the stream from the hill covered in green. To her east, the city could be seen if one peered hard though the hot, tropical air. To the south was a since long abandoned logging, and the tree stumps covered with lichen and fungi. To her west... She didn’t look to the west. Something about the west gave her a prickly discomfort that drained her good mood. Eylinn reached for her cleaning rag and pulled it all the way from her right shoulder to the hand. Up and down in a seemingly unending routine. “It’s already clean.” She knew it, but she didn’t believe it. She started higher up, going all the way from her cheek this time. “You’ve done this already. Go lower.” She pulled the rag down along her belly and beyond, but it didn’t feel right. She strained her muscles and started to scrub the leg instead. “You missed it...” The foot was next. Her mind really should stop interfering, or she would never be done. “There, there, move it up again.” No. She leaned her head back, closing her eyes.

“No, I will hear no more of this.” Galimon sat on his throne and gave his vassal a fiery gaze. “You’re too old. A man in his fifties marrying a woman of fifteen? She’s my heir, not your contingency plan.” Eylinn sat right below her father’s right hand side on a small chair, listening to the old men squabbling over her future. It wasn’t very pleasant, but she was determined to make her father proud. She had put on a truly sparkling dress, cared for her hair, and adapted a truly neutral face. All to look as representative as possible in case she would be betrothed today.

“There’s not many to chose from, Master. Your daughters are the only two eligible noble women in Green Chasm left. I only have one son, and I need more children. This cannot possibly be so hard to understand? Your heir needs children too, and with my wife now dead, I see no other solution. In fact, I see it as a blessing for both of us.” Elvander did not flinch before his liege’s arguments. Eylinn noted that he had started to sport a short stubble, which was common for a sixty year old Elven man, but not one of fifty. He did have some fair features to him, but she didn’t like his nose. All pointy and crooked. She could see the hair outgrowing his nostrils from several feet away. She really hoped her father stood his ground on this one. He had talked very anxiously about his vassals lately, how their constant nagging was driving him insane. How hard he had to work to please them, and all he had to give up to keep the three Canyons balanced. But she really did not wish to share bed with this one.

“That if anything should tell you something. You were married to her for thirty years, and all you two were able to conceive were one child. I cannot trust you will even bring my daughter any children. Coerthas is only twenty five, and you can always find a woman from the families of the High Guilds.” Elvander was clearly displeased.
“You’ve favoured the Wheat Glade your entire rule. How many chests of gold did I not see you funnel for the irrigation at the Chasm mouth? Meanwhile, my hunters have been paid copper chips when his farmers dine from golden dinnerware.” Her father was stroking his chin, a clear sign that he was falling for the vassal’s arguments. “Your daughter’s hand would at least bring some fairness, and my heir could marry your youngest.”

“Both my daughters? That is hardly fair.” Galimon wrinkled his nose, deep in thought. “You will have to accept my consideration of a compromise. I could possibly agree to let your heir have my Eylinn, but then you would have to accept that Coerthas receive my Evhana. Marrying into the lineage of Barumin is worth more than any gold, so I shall expect a hefty dowry, and no more complaining for the rest of mine and Eylinn’s life.” Elvander raised his head, now finally pleased.
“I would accept such a compromise. When will we have the betrothal?”

“It will be effective immediately. You know as well as I no betrothal feast can be held without clear evidence of love, and the children don’t even know each other yet. But I will not accept any marriage to be held before your boy is fifteen and spent his time here in Lúrien as my ward. If they spend time together here, they can learn to fall in love, as to not offend the Light and Dark.”

“The agreement sounds fair. Miras?” A young boy stepped forward from the Northern Chasm’s entourage. Eylinn examined him thoroughly with her eyes. He was slightly taller than her with fair skin, hair of slight brown and part auburn, with a proud but still easy posture, and eyes of hazel. She blushed. He was a much better option than his father, that was for sure. He kneeled.

“Milady, I will prove my worth and win your heart, through deeds and words and worship, fairest maiden on this Earth.” Eylinn made an honest smile.
“Your words are too kind, and I shall treasure our time in my father’s house.” Galimon stood up.

“If that was all, I release you from my presence, Elvander. I will care for your son as if he was my own.” Elvander bowed and turned on his heel. Miras approached Eylinn with determined pace, offering his hand for her to take.
“I wish to escort milday to her chambers, so we may talk on the way.” Eylinn gave him a nod, and enveloped her arm around his.

They were alone in the hallway, the setting sun painting the walls with its embers. The trees moved slight outside the window on the cliffs, and Eylinn could have sworn she heard birds chirping in the air. It was so romantic. She had been lucky this day. Miras had a nice smell, and his grip around her arm was gentle but strong.
“You’re an example of beauty, milady.” She giggled. “I do not jest!”
“Forgive me, I didn’t mean to. You’re not so bad yourself.” Not so bad? She really needed to start working on her speech. She could be as casual, vulgar and short tempered as she pleased when she was sparring with Alvon, but she barely knew this boy.

“It glads me to hear you say that. I was quite nervous before coming here, not knowing whether the tales of your appearance was mere gossip or inflated words.” As much as flattering his speech were, it felt quite rehearsed. Shouldn’t he be asking more things about her? They were supposed to get to know each other. “I thought I would end up betrothing your sister, but it seems I got to keep the true flower for myself. It would not have pleased me to see it wither under my father’s sheets.” The romance was toning down. Eylinn wasn’t smiling anymore.

“I’m happy I lived up to your expectations.” He was probably just nervous. His words did have some truth in them. Knowing you had no choice but to marry someone you hadn’t even met before must be quite overwhelming for boys too. Some time together when dining, or a talk under the full moon would probably make their relationship more lax for the coming years. They were at her quarters and they were supposed to take leave. “It was a pleasure to be introduced, milord. I assume we will meet at supper?”

“Must we wait so long?” He took her hand and started to caress her wrist. She pulled it away slow, but polite.
“Yes, I do think I need to change my clothes and bathe, milord, as I assume you would like to do aswell.” He reached his hand for her waist and stroke her side.
“I could join in your tub.” Eylinn took his hand and pulled it away.
“Milord, enough. We will meet at supper.” She was getting irritated. His behaviour was changing too quickly, and this was not because of any nerves. Surely he knew they were not even meant to be this intimate until after they were married. But he wouldn’t stop. He came closer and put his hip against hers, and she could feel he was stiff.
“I think we’d both like it.” He stroke her cheek this time, putting his hand under her chin and caressed her lips with his fingers. “I can feel your heart is racing like mine.” She pushed him away and slapped him. The sound echoed through the hallway.

“I believe I’ve misjudged you.” She looked at Miras with distaste. Clearly he was only satisfied with the prize and not its content. Eylinn hated politics. “You’re not fifteen yet, and if you try that again, you will never live to see that age.”
“I’d like to see you try that again. If you want to plunge your father into fighting a rebellion, be my guest.” He scoffed at her. “But fine, I am a gentleman. I can wait till you’re mine before I make you mine.”
“Yes, you can. You may leave now, and I’ll see you at supper.” She was close to raising her voice, but sustained. This time he left, and she stayed outside her room to make sure he was truly gone. She made a deep breath and looked up in the ceiling.

“So my father gives me a rose. Sweet to look at, but a prick to handle.” She could have ended up worse. It could have been the old man. Maybe she could turn him around in a year, but it didn’t matter if it would work or not. She would keep it to herself and make her father proud. She walked into her chambers, undressed, and descended into the tub, scrubbing herself with the rag. She leaned her head back and looked up. The mist clouded the room and she had difficulty to see even the tip of her own nose. It was getting darker, and the smell of something burnt filled her nostrils. She was getting dizzy, and her head ached. Hellish wailing filled her ears, screeches from the wretched creatures of the Dark. Their suffering was filling her. She looked to the west. Black smoke rose up, up, up in the air, the whole horizon burning. It was coming for her. It was coming for everyone.

Eylinn woke up, and she raised her right hand studying her fingers. Raisins, that’s how wrinkled they were. She must have slept for an hour at least. Her mouth felt sticky. She used her free hand to figure out why. Blood had poured from her nose again. It was getting overwhelming, haunting her. Maybe she should ask the Archmage about her condition? She had just released the thought from her mind when she noticed that her left hand had reached down and been left inside her, rag and all, during her sleep.

Her body, her mind, froze. She didn’t dare move. She shut her eyes, looked away, and slowly pulled her hand out, shivering in discomfort and total pain, altering between holding her breath and manically breathing fast. She covered herself, even though there was no one there to see her. Tears started falling over her washed cheeks, and made a muted dripping sound as they landed in the water. She crawled together and started rocking back and forth. Just pulling the hand out that that short moment had felt so satisfying, yet all she could feel was an excruciating agony. Always there to eat at her soul. The guilt, the love, the touch, the pain. Her mind kept luring her, and her body punished her for it. Like a hot flow of magma running through her veins, it numbed and flogged her at the same time. The feeling of vomiting, yet she wasn’t vomiting at all. She was starting to fear, she would never become normal again. For another whole hour, her entire existence was nothing but awful. If she had been able to stop rocking, she would have cut her own throat to escape. But she didn’t. She was not that brave.

Zephfers cell in Zephfans visions

Ancient wars of High and Dark Elfs visions

It was late at night the moon shined as bright as the sun does in the day, Zephfan son of Zephfer struggled in bed as he tossed and turn in anguish and in pain. As visions in his head started to appear in his head, visions of the past wars of dark elfs and high elfs and the vision of his father prison cell constantly appear. He would yell father various times till he woke up about four times, around the fifth attempt to sleep he was able to sleep calmly without trouble. When morning came around Zephfan was given a letter to join the assembly, first he attempted to say no to the assembly and stay contempt to stay in Balen Don castle till his father returns. But his sister Zephfa forced him to do so, after scolding him for two hours straight.

When night came around he had another dream, but this time there were no visions except for his father chained up and heavily breathing. Zephfer started to say a few words.

Zephfer"Zephfan....my...son...timme is shhhort you...must..go to the gathering of the races and help them..destroy the Dark Lord....y..you are the only one whom can free me...and Agorath from my horrible fate and rule Balen Don in my...place....I believe ...and L...Lo....mmy,,so..n...." The vision disappeared before Zephfan could reply back to his father, and he layed with tears falling into the sides of his pillow knowing that his father is out of his reach. The next day he gathered his personal guard and made his way to the assembly, his sister Zephfa stayed behind to watch over things while they were gone.

Zephfan moves to join the assembly

A Wedding Dyed in Red

This document has been done with the most scrupulous research, countless interviews to witness and people with great knowledge have been done. The document re-tale of what happen from the re-appearance of Kvothe Kalare in Kalare city after his self-exile to the aftermath of his weeding. As it has been years since these event the author feels it should be fine with the involved to be published and no repercussion should happen.

It had been months since anyone in Kalare city had seen Kvothe Kalare, the young man heir to Kalare city. Kvothe was very loved by the Kalare citizens, if you ask the main reason for it were: by his cheerfulness, compassion and fair treatment of anyone to cross his path be it rich merchant or a simple slave. It is said that once a poor kid in the city stole his wallet, after chasing him and apprehending him instead of taking him to the city guard he took he wallet and the following conversation ensued:

-Why did you steal from me, kid?

-I am Gover not kid sir….I need money to feed my sick mother and sister

-you surely knew you would be caught some day and send to prison, right?

-yes sir, but I still need the money and so I will continue doing so.

-Very well. Take me to your house.

-yes sir….

(At Gover ‘house’)

-Hello mam how are you doing today

-Hello sir…what bring you around this part of the city?

-I apprehended your son after stealing my wallet

-Oh the creator….Govern why….

-But fear not mam I have hear his reason and judge he is a good son, your family is just having a rough time…let down by the city and its ruler. I swear to you I will make him an upstanding citizen and so I request permission to find him a job in the palace so he can get an honest earning for his family.

-Oh sir, thank you, thank you so much…his sister already works as a maid but with my sickness money is not enough….I didn’t knew he was doing such things…thank you sir.

-No problem mam. Honest people like you should live better than this, I promise you things will improve

Yes that was the kind of young men Kvothe Kalare was, it is said that apart from the Kalerus Kalare no other Kalare has ever being so love by his people at no less as such a young age. The many bars, markets and ‘happiness’ houses in the city missed their most beloved user and many whispered in the night he may have died or got assassinated in the wilds by his younger brother to be heir, the city itself seemed sad.

On the third week of sun shadows, during the yearly ecliptic alignment climax a young man appeared in the city gates, when the guards asked his business on the city he only said returning home. The young man wasn’t alone; another figure (very petit comparing to his size) was walking next to him covered in cold traveling clothes, it was quite a peculiar combo so people were staring only for the anomaly until someone recognize him and screamed Kvothe you have return!

The person that screamed was Tamir, Kvothe best friend and son of one of the local nobility, after hugging affectingly Kvothe all the people went crazy with cheers, hand waving and more importantly talking of the return of the beloved heir to Kalare and hope of their futures. (Many accounts point to how he seemed happier than ever)

After dropping the petit person in the most luxurious Inn (some account tell his friend stayed there to keep company to the petit person) he headed to his father palace. Once getting there he was immediately send to his father throne room in where the following conversation ensued (told by a maid that was in the room and didn’t got out as ordered):

-Father I have retuned.

-I see that son, so have the wilderness teach you something?

-yes it has.

-Good, I take you have grown up and decided to stop your foolishness. As I recall I told you to not come back until you did so.

-Yes father, I have indeed grown up of my foolishness and decided that I will marry.

-Good it seems the wild have fix the fool on you. Margetry will be happy to hear you have decided is time for you to marry.

-About that father. I never say I was going to marry her. My answer to that marriage is a simply no. But worry no I have found someone else to marry.

-WHAT! Do you mean by that! You are betrothal to her since 3 years ago. You will do your duty and marry her, you well know she is the daughter of the most powerful noble after us and they have many connections. You simple CANNOT spur it for some wench you found in the wilds. You WILL marry her even if I have to beat you and drag you to the wedding.

-When do you suppose this weeding of mine is going to happen? Father... (The maid commend that his face had simple went stale and was giving a blank look to his dad)

-It will happen as soon as possible, yes on the middle of Snowfall…if that good with you.

-Actually father yes that’s was the date I wanted to suggest, for now I am leaving the palace and staying in an inn, see you later.

-Son remember I will not have another Ariana case*, think of the consequence of your actions.

After that Kvothe pick up some of his belongings and money and went to the Inn where the petit person was staying. For the next month or so he could be seeing around the city accompanied by the petit person that turn on to be a beautiful girl like no one had seen before, the girl was polite and some say shy but soon the citizens heart warmth to her, and thought she was a delightful person, the rumors went wild…was she the soon to be new Kalare family member? Was he marrying her? But if so why did he not live in his palace anymore? What was going on, and they all around the city and to everywhere on it.

The snowfell month came and the wedding of Kvothe was announced, preparations began immediately. The only unexpected thing noticed by people was that the wedding was between Margetry the daughter of the Trust family (the second most rich and powerful family in Kalare) instead of the young woman they have seen him going all around town.. People went wild with rumors and comments who was that girl then? Was she his true love? Oh god Margetry was going to kill her when she hears the rumors….seriously was this going to be another tragedy like Ariana love case? The kids of the family were cursed to have an impossible love and end in tragedies?

The day many fear or expected came. Margetry and her brothers were going around the city to buy jewelry went they met Kvothe, Tamir and Snovit (the name of the petit girl) looking at jewelry too. The tension immediately could be felt and people instantly move a couple steps away but continue to look to the soon to be clash. The conversion went to this:

-Is this the girl you have been hanging around DARLING?

-Hello to you too Margetry, I take you are looking at jewelry of our weeding?

-well yes, we are Kvothe, what about you? What are you doing around here…? Asked Margetry younger brother

-Well I am looking for some jewelry to buy to Snovit, of course

-Buying jewelry to your whore Kvothe? Just, what I expected. Said Margetry older brother

-Mind your words, or I will behave you myself Donar. Said Tamir

-Just try it Tamir and I will kill you right here and now.

Suddenly Tamir, Donar and heliax had their swords draw and ready to kill. At that moment Snovit took the scarf covering most of her face to talk

-Please gentlemen, don’t kill each other for no reason at all. I am sure Kvothe and Margetry will be sad by the death of any of you.

-Well certainly the wench is beautiful darling…but so unlike Nord where did you find her? Well matters not, I don’t mind you are having some exotic woman before our marriage just know I won’t tolerate it after it. Let’s go brothers

After that no other incidents were register and the day of the wedding came. The church was packed and around it thousand were waiting for its ending to start the celebrations.
This is what happened inside the church that day as related by witness interviews:

The place was full of invites and relatives of both families, guards of both families were in the door and windows 10 guards from each family so 20 in total. As custom no weapons were allowed inside just to be careful against any too emotional person. One person was notably missing, Tamir, the best friend of the groom was nowhere to be seeing even though many have seen him around the city carrying packages and moving handmaids to somewhere, and no one had seen him since 3 hours ago.

The doors opened and the bridal music started, Margetry entered the church accompanied by her father and brothers and they sited in their accommodated chairs. The priest of the light began its normal speech, but then the music band start playing bridal entrance music again. Everyone was in shock…why again? What was happening but observant people saw a tiny smile in Kvothe face.

The side door opened and a girl in beautiful bridal dress appears, she was a doll (many though the same at the same time) the dress was unconventional covering until the chest area instead until the neck and no face covering or hair, but oddly no one seem bothered by that. Accompanying her was Tamir, as he walked her to the altar, it dawn on everyone as if out of a spell…What was she doing here? What was going on in this weeding?

Kvothe spoke: Ha, my beautiful bride appears, I was starting to fear you have stop loving me and run away with Tamir

-Stop joking Kvothe you know she or I would never do that. Here she is your beloved bride now you can have a happy marriage, said Tamir with a huge grin

Kvothe dad, Margetry dad and her brothers understood with shock what was happening and rose from their seats.

-What’s the meaning of this Kvothe! you are marrying Margetry! Wench! Get away from the altar before I kill you myself! screamed Donar

-Didn't I tell you I was going to kill you if you say that again Donar? Said Tami meanwhile he took a 2 sword out of his clothes.

-What is the meaning of this Kvothe I order you to marry Margetry, even if I have to say yes for you!

-No, father I will not marry her, I will marry my beloved Snovit and if you and anyone try to stop me I will kill you. Said Kvothe at the same time Tamir handed him the second sword

Immediately the trust family head call his guard and so did Kvothe father to apprehend them, but in a sudden move the Kalare guards attacked the Trust guards starting a melee with them. Even though no one was sure what was happening, now we know that the person in charge of the guard inside the church was the kid Kvothe rescue from the streets many years ago and that he had selected guard friends of his for this duty, as show of gratitude to Kvothe.

The crown inside began to panic But from the last seat 5 more armed people raised and took control of the gate an told people to stay put until the weeding was over, and they did (as none was armed). The gate locked guards from outside the church could not get inside and only hear the steel on steel sounds.

Kvothe father, his younger brother and the trust family head and his sons took out their own weapons too (apparently allow by Kvothe father in case something happened).

-Kvothe stop this madness, I will not allow you to continue discrediting Kalare name anymore. Stop or I will kill you!

-If that’s how you my family feel, then there is nothing to talk come to me and die by my sword because, I WILL marry Snovit even if I have to kill every one of you. (A sad look could be look in his eyes, but determined too)

His father charged him roaring; at the same time the Trust brothers charged Snovit but were intercepted by Tamir in a 2 vs. 1 battle. The area were these two duels was not big and so both side were taking care not to bump in each other or hurt the ones they were protecting.

Kvothe fought his father desperately, of course he didn’t want to kill him but he had to fight seriously or he would get kill. A sudden move of his dad grasped his side drawing blood from Kvothe but giving him an opening to hit his father with the handle of his sword, this action took Nular ( Kvothe Father) from balance and send him to crash with the priest . Roaring with the anger of a direwolf his father charged again and a sword clashed with sword another sudden move almost injured Kvothe leg and more blood began to be loss, fighting desperately but still trying to avoid killing his father Kvothe began to lose ground and get nearer and nearer to Snovit. His father then told him: after I kill you, I will kill that wench; she is the cause of your death dear son.

Hearing that Kvothe face become grim and began a counter attack after a series of fast attack his swords passed his father guard and went all the way into his stomach. Taking out his sword his father look at him and told him: How could you kill your own father? Are you going to kill your family for some girl? You are not worthy of the name of Kalare nor of being my heir… After that his lifeless body collapsed and his mother screamed in horror.

His brother seeing this began to move in the injured Kvothe and as he did so he began to tell him: man you have done an excellent show here, much better that what that fool Ariana did. I thought you were better than her, but I guess not. Well after I kill you and become heir I will marry Margetry in your instead, and perhaps spare your wench and make her my lover, after all she is beautiful.

And so the battle of the brother started, Drakul was fast and not exhausted as Kvothe was and began to press hard on Kvothe until he was around one meter from Snovit, being so close to her she whisper to him. My love don’t worry about me and defend your live as if you die I will follow you shortly, and so we will be together one way or another. She said that with the sweetest smile Kvothe of anyone in the room had ever seeing. Using that as his inspiration Kvothe began a counter attack against his brother and in a swift battle by the two, Drakul sword made a great cut in Kvothe side meanwhile Kvothe took Drakul head off. The blood from his brother neck spur like a fountain bathing Kvothe and some hitting Snovit face and dress, but the girl did not seem to notice so.

Death of Donar (harder than one will think to find people getting kill by swords...)

In the other duel Tamir finished Donar with a deep cut to his stomach and pinned the younger brother to the ground with a spear from one of the dead guard. Though Tamir was injure too as a battle with two opponents at one can be. Kvothe moved to where the trust Family head was and told him: I am sorry for your lost and regret to inform you that you your daughter will be killed to. With a swift movement he cut his neck and moved to Margetry. The girl was crying and launching curses and begging for her live, regretfully Kvothe only look her with a blank look and told her: I cannot let you live, and I am sorry for that but you called wench and whore my beloved and represent a risk to her. Ending with those words he stabs her three times to assure a quick death.

Kvothe Mother was horrify of what was happening but she was a true Nord woman and she could not let the one that caused her family demise live and so grabbed her husband sword and attacked Snovit. Kvothe reacted in time and got in the way pushing away her sword with his own and hugging his mother he told her: Mom I am sorry for the suffering I caused you, but worry not it will end soon. The dagger he had on his other hand went easily through his mother heart meanwhile she whispered: I hope you remember your deed for the rest of your life and the price you paid for what you desired most, my beloved son.

(sighs only image i could find similar to what i wanted)

The trust family guards surrendered and the priest was force to continue the weeding with a groom losing blood from his side, and head and batted in the blood of his family and the beautiful bride that even though had blood on her face, hair and dress looked beautiful and radiant, with a huge smile in her face as if nothing out of peculiar had just happened. And so declared Wife and Husband the two had a passionate kiss bathed in blood. Meanwhile the attendees just looked in shock of what had just happened.

The doors of the Church suddenly opened and Kvothe and Snovit walked with their entourage all bloodied to their new home.

*Note: The ariana case refers: To the love history of Ariana ( the oldest sister of Kvothe). this history have well spread through the entire continent. The girl love the boy, but she is betrothed to the son of a another family, they have secret meeting, the love each other very much. When time come and they cant be together Ariana plan a escape by faking her death and tell the boy about it in a letter. The boy wait for her to weak up but she doesn't so he commit suicide next to her, she wakes later and find him death so she commits suicide. The family finds the plan and go to the tomb to catch them both and only find their death bodies.

The Shahdom of Herasnia

((Not listed: Northwest, Slaver Forts|South, Various Minor Lords))

Emirates:

Herasnia

In general, the lands of Herasnia are mostly lush and green, perfect for agriculture. The Safi and Umar rivers make up the "backbone" of Herasnia's agriculture. Most of the crops grown here are produce, grain, and cotton. Herds of cows and sheep are also common in the area. In addition to that, the Safi is used as a major river trade route for both Highathar and Ecclestius. High quality lumber is found in the north.

Almeria, capital of the Shahdom, is a major trade hub and production center for processed goods like weapons, armor, glass, and Dragon Oil. Espadilla Castle, to the north, was a former slave trade hub with the slaver forts in the north, but a combination of Corpus and the Compact has forced many of the slavers to abandon the area. Now, Espadilla Castle is the start of a new colonization effort into the former slaver forts.

Windfall

Windfall is, like the rest of Herasnia, agricultural, producing grain and produce. There are a number of quarries with high quality stone, and a few iron and coal mines. Windfall traders used to deal with Tirath until the mad lord took control of Tirath. Now, the traders mostly deal with dwarves and the lords to the south.

Grusse Castle has an community of dwarves living nearby, which allows for the exchange of goods and, as a result, a thriving trade center for the dwarves of Highatgar. Whitedragon is named after the dragon deity Radaru. The town has an excellent masonry tradition, and produces quality stone items for use. It is also a vital trading link to Herasnia.

The dragon deity Radaru of the South.

Khaliq

Khaliq is at the edge of the Hroniden desert, with tall grasslands as far as the eye can see. It is also where the Stone of Creation is located. Nomads from the west have established seasonal camps in the area for grazing and trade for various supplies. Traders from Misr also make their way here to trade. Farms here mostly produce grain and spices.

Khuraysah is known as the last frontier into the desert of Hroniden. Naturally, it is a city built up on trade, and riches from the desert move along into other areas of the Agorath. Aggressive traders are infamous here, and are often called "hyenas." Caravans heading into the desert are willing to bring a few extra people for the right amount of coin.

Wilhelm von Saxon and Navaris Kalare walked into the bedchamber of the room they were given in Kalare Palace. Their wedding had gone relatively well, but when neither of the people getting married wants to be at the ceremony it gets awkward. Still Wilhelm thought he put on a good show and Navaris did pretty well herself. They finally reached the room and Wilhelm opened the door. With a look of fear Wilhelm silently asked Navaris in. She stepped in and Wilhelm went after her. Wilhelm closed the door and turned to Navaris.

“So I suppose you were expecting us to have sex?” Wilhelm said, sitting down on a chair.

“Um yes I was. Why?” Navaris asked, getting nervous.

It was then someone knocked on the door and Wilhelm got up. He opened it up and there stood Gilbert von Danzig. Wilhelm ushered him in and closed the door. Gilbert waved at Navaris and Wilhelm walked up, grabbing his hand and continuing to hold it.

“This is Gilbert von Danzig and um…” Gilbert tightened his grip and whispered to him, “You can do it baby, I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”

“This is the man I love.” Wilhelm finished.

Navaris stared at the two of them for a long time. She clenched her fist and turned around for a few moments. Are you fucking kidding me? My husband is gay. This is just perfect. Navaris turned around and looked at the scared face of Wilhelm and the determined face of Gilbert who now had his arm wrapped around Wilhelm. Gilbert was whispering comforting words into Wilhelm’s ears.

She walked up the table and grabbed a chair. She then flung it the ground and screamed, “The fuck!?”

Wilhelm almost jumped into Gilbert’s arms and Navaris could see Gilbert’s face contort in anger. “Bitch you heard the man.”

Navaris stalked up to Gilbert and looked him in the eyes. “What did you say to me?” She said softly with murder in her eyes.

Gilbert moved Wilhelm behind him and stared right back into Navaris’s eyes. “It seems you are daft, unable to comprehend basic language. So I will spell it out for you. I love Wilhelm and he loves me. If you want to flip out and throw shit, go elsewhere. We already have enough problems.”

“Are you fucking serious?” Navaris asked, getting even angrier.

“Yes, I am being serious. Now do you want to reach a solution or are you going to do something stupid. Because I would rather die than see you do something to my man.” Gilbert said shooting daggers at Navaris.

“Gilbert, please don’t fight. She’s my wife.” Wilhelm pleaded.

Gilbert turned around with tears in his eyes. “Don’t say that. Please God, don’t say that. I should be your husband or wife or whatever the fuck you want to call it! I should be the one that shares your bed, not this Nord bitch! I love you Wilhelm.” Gilbert began crying and ran into the waiting arms of Wilhelm.

Navaris looked at them and she tried to be angry with Wilhelm, but she couldn’t. After all, he has to hide his love from everyone and had to marry someone he doesn’t want. If his father ever found out he would be furious. “Look, I have an idea.”

Gilbert and Wilhelm froze and looked up at Navaris. “How about I find some secret lover and we just say that it was you?” Navaris finished.

Hmm I suppose that could work…” Wilhelm said when he looked into the puppy dog eyes of Gilbert.

“Would that mean you never have to sex with her?” Gilbert asked innocently.

“Well yeah, I guess it does.” Wilhelm pondered, “Deal.” With that Wilhelm kissed Gilbert for a moment and then whispered for him to go.

“But… but why?” Gilbert asked immediately losing all excitement.

“Because I have to sleep in here tonight with Navaris and you can’t stay in here. Plus I am sure my wife doesn't like seeing me kiss your sexy face.” Wilhelm teased and led Gilbert out.

The Last Assembly
Part I

The Lord-Commander

Gerald of Westelli leaned over a parapet on the high walls of the Golden City. His eyes surveyed the land below. Hundreds of tents had sprung up in the shadow of his city along with cook fires and siege workshops. Serpentine came and went, as did Snowsmelt. Spring was now here and this army remained, sapping the resources of the countryside. Great banners of peace snapped in the cool breeze but that did little to lighten the mood of the Lord-Commander. As long as this army remained before his city, he and his men remained in a state of war.

Gerald turned around, now facing the expansive cityscape of the former Imperial capital. Upon a hill, the Imperial Palace stood out among the other buildings, raising above the Palace District of the city. Somewhere down below was embassies of the Krestarii and Misiri. He had ordered the buildings closed during the siege and the ambassadors to be placed under house arrest. Now, following the order of the High Steward, the buildings were open once again and the snakes of the Triumvirate freely roamed the city.

He balled his hands into fist as his thoughts trailed to the indignities suffered by this power hungry army.

He climbed down from the wall, followed by his Swornswords, a dozen in all. Men that he knew since birth, men who would lay down their lives for him. They climbed their horses and made their way to the Fortified Embassy of the City Watch. Waiting for him at his headquarters in the Imperial Quarter was a messanger who bowed as Gerald dismounted his horse.

"Report!" Gerald barked, his mood still sullen from the view from the wall.

"The ArchMage approaches, along with the Orc Chief. They hold the Elf-lord Zephfer and are accompanied by a small troop of bannermen, but their armies remain in Hroniden. They shall be here on the morrow."

Gerald expected as much. After all his incessant barking and howling, the ArchMage showed his true colours; A sniveling apologist. All bark, and no bite. He had held onto hope that Qylan the Houseless had dispatched the messages across the realm to drop the guard of the Triumvirate, but all hope of that faded. "Dismissed." The messenger bowed and retreated from the sight of the Lord-Commander.

Stepping inside his solar, the career soldier fell down upon his seat, pouring a brimming cup of spiced wine from a flagon. After a long drink he looked up to one of his Swornswords, "Inform the High Steward. The halfling lords approach."

The High Steward

Within his solar, the self professed protector of the Golden City poured over parchments and Scrolls.

"A crown for Saladin.... surely that will stave off his horde and secure a peace," Mathlion told the empty room. "... And Ra'Gru, twice protector of my city. A kingship for the Orcs at last."

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in."

The door opened and a knight entered, one of Lord Westelli's Swornswords. He bowed. "My Lord, ArchMage Qylan and Warchief Ra'Gru approach and are little more than a days ride away. They bring a small escort of bannermen and hold Zephfer of Huaindren."

Mathlion nodded. "Good. Do me a kindness and bring these messages to the Hall of Scribes, Ser." The knight took the sealed envelopes and bowed, leaving the room.

Standing up from his desk, and moving to the great window that overlooked the city, a feeling of hope came over the Steward. This is what he had worked for since re-opening the Assembly. A lasting peace. Qylan had nearly ruined it all, and now, ironically, his friend had made a great stride to bring unity to the realm. Sometimes the gravest of news brings forth the best in us all.

"May the news be grave..."

The Archmage

A cool wind, carrying the scent of spring and a dying winter blows through the small camp of Qylan and Ra'Gru. A rider reins his horse up to the camp, and climbs down from his horse. The messenger bows and hands Qylan a sealed envelope and lowers a chest unto the ground. The golden eyes of the ArchMage flicker as he surveys the seal of the envelope. He turns and places his hand on the great shoulder of Ra'Gru and the envelope in his palms.

"Open it, Brother," says the Archmage, his lips curled up in a smile. "They want to make you a King..."

Ra'Gru of Goi'Orka is now King of the Orc Clans of Highathar!
Saladin is now Sultan of Hroniden!
Arnulf the Young of Stronghelm is now Jarl of Stronghelm!

May Their Reigns be Blessed!

As the Assembly starts, it is Perseus Laecus who is present on behalf of Three Rivers, not Justinus Celestian. As there was no guaratee that the siege would be broken, the Duke of Three Rivers within his home castle, leaving his ambassador to speak.

"Greetings all noble houses of Agorath. I come here on behalf of my liege, with a proposal, one which I hope you shall all consider."

He looks at those who has gathered.

"The Empire is no longer, it is dead and cannot be revived, should not be revived. No Ecclestian should rule over the Nord similar to how no one from the Nordland should rule over Galadriel."

"Instead my liege proposes that we create the Union of the Five Kings. These kings should have only two functions, to defend their own kingdoms and to cooperate with the other kings to protect the Union. Each of these 5 kings should hold an army provided by their vassals only for the purpose of protecting the Kingdom and the Union. The so called Golden Army would then be when these 5 armies become a single army."

"Within each realm, each noble holding land would hold a number of votes, 1 for landed tier, 2 for higher tier and 3 for greatest tier. The landed tier consists of counts, chiefs, emirs and so on. The higher tier consists of dukes and war chief chiefs, shah, and lastly the greatest tier are the King, Queen, Sultan, etc. These votes are used when the policies of the kingdom should be decided and these votes are also used to vote on the sitting king's successor. The valid picks for this title are the dukes of the nation and the heir of the sitting king. If another dynasty is elected, the current dynasty will once again become dukes, with their rights and abilities."

"I hope all will seriously consider this proposal, as it would open up the possibility of uniting Agorath once again, giving us the strength to withstand the challenges to come, without anyone giving up their rights and most of their independence."

"Let Agorath stand united in it's diversity."

Three Rivers proposes a Union of 5 elective Kingdoms (Highathar, Hroniden, Galadriel, Nordlands, Ecclestius)

Protocol of Kings
by Elwith of Caspeira
High Mage of Order of Light
422 year of Age of the Empire

Maintaining order in the courts of kings across the empire is no easy task. Intrigues and plots can run rampant in the courts of rulers across the realm, but none more so than in the courts of kings. Save perhaps for the court of the Emperor, Himself.

In order to maintain allegiance with his vassals, a King will often name the most influential of his court to his Council. Holding a seat on a king's council is a prestigious honour, and gives territorial power and influence to lords who previously would only hold authority within their own lands. A king must choose wisely who will sit in his council as Royal Marshal, Chancellor and Spymaster. Though awarding seats to vassals may assure loyalty, history has proved this is not always the case.

A King's Court may look something like the following.

The Royal Court of King Astwulf The Bear of LoneMountain

Lord of Norseland and Her Colonies
Keeper of Light
and
Protector of the Realm

Laws of Succession
Primogeniture

Royal Heir
Astwulfson of LoneMountain

King's Council

Marshal
Jarl Snowmane of Banecliff

Chancellor
Arl Hawkeye of Kalare

Spymaster
UnderKing Swiftfoot of Undermountain

King's Champion
Thane Gidred of Westcliffe

Another young face at the council, Ivar af Blót answered Three Rivers suggestion for elective monarchies with a bitter taste in his mouth.

- "I understand what you want to do good Lord, but this government form will replace old conflicts with new ones." He pauses, breathes in and then continues before drawing his sword "And for empty promises..."

The guards draw their swords and start to charge towards him but before they reach him he throws the sword onto the table.

- "Just because I have sworn to not draw my sword does not mean that I can't do it." His voice was angry and he yelled out the last part "THE PALE WILL NOT GIVE FREELY THEIR SOLDIERS TO A KING WHO WILL EXPLOIT THEM FOR THEIR OWN FOUL GREED."

He calmed down and continued.

- "Excuse me, I do not possess the calm of my liege, but I think I made my point."

The Pale does NOT accept any king above him, elective or not

"You dare bring a weapon into this sacred hall? Guards, dispose of it immediatly. You have made your point, ambassador, but let me be clear. No weapons are permitted within this hall. This is a peaceful assembly and count yourself lucky you are not charged for contempt. I say again, no weapons are permitted in this assembly!

"Now then, let us continue a cordial discussion on this matter while we wait for the Archmage and King Ra'Gru to join us."

Gunther stands up and looks around.

"What is it that you all desire? Why must you fight each other over petty squabbles and land grabs. Peace is not a difficult thing to achieve. It is only natural for man to be peaceful. What is the goal of all of this?"

Deagrin Wrothiron arrived in the Golden City with a picked band of sworn shields. The bulk of Kogansunan's army remained in Galadriel. Receiving word of the crowning of Ra'Gru and Saladin, he went directly to the Assembly chamber without pausing even to change out of his golden steel armor.

"I am told that crowns are being distributed already." he thundered. "Ra'Gru's ascension is only just and fitting, and may all the Orcs in the world bow to him! But what is this madness of a crown for Saladin? He has betrayed us all. His army was thwarted and his city has fallen. The question should not be one of bestowing honors upon him, but deciding the terms of his punishment. I was prepared to spare his life and his followers, and offer to restore his former lands if he serves well against the Dark One. But to put a crown upon his head seems folly.

I also would like it made plain the role of these kings. As I have said, I have no objection to Ra'Gru as King of Orcs. But if the intention is to set him and his heirs to rule over me and mine, then that is not acceptable.

I would also be glad of a peace agreement over Mirrorwater, which would allow us to place our focus where it belongs, on the Dark One under the High Mountain."
