Overrated? If WC ould be overrated, instead of 6 pages... there would be like 50.
Only small % of eu4 players is interested in such hardcore gaming, as shown by Jake.
It's only really hardcore with Ryukyu or another ridiculous OPM. WC with Ottomans, England->France->HRE, or Austria->Italy is really not that hardcore. Not nearly as boring since so much of it is already done through HRE. Getting almost all of Asia/Austria/Africa through protectorate wars is trivial as long as too much westernization didn't happen.
As many others already said, when the designers change the game and what you can do from patch to patch, people get annoyed.
And be very sure I'd get banned as well if I replied as I wished.

I have not been paying attention nor following EU4 since 1.6... What are the new upcoming updates that are going to make a WC with Rykukyu impossible??? Is this going to be in the 1.8 patch???

I still have not seen all the videos so I have few questions for those who has seen it all. During the first 20 parts Jake talks about "nukes", first two being missions exploits and protectorate-no-coalition trick (I guess). Third one should be something to do with being a pagan - is it the stuff that when you are a pagan you constantly get those events for +1 stab?
Also at the later stage (part 127, 21:05), Jake sits on -100 DP and is annexing Algier, which costs 112 DP (it is not the wargoal country). However despite the lack of DP he clicks the button and annex them anyway still sitting on -100 DP. What was going on?

The 3rd "Nuke" is indeed those pagan influences event. If you are a pagan nation and border a sunni, shiite, protestant, catholic or buddhist nation with >100 opinion of you, then you will get an event giving +1 stability with a MTTH of 5,000 months.
But this event is a provincial event, so if you have 500 pagan provinces, then you will get the event on average every 10 months. the MTTH is increased in the province is also of your culture group and if you have a theologian, but through sheer number of (pagan) provinces you can brute force your way to permanent +3 stability.
As for DIP costs, holy war allows you to annex all provinces for free, despite what the peace deal says. This goes for all members in said war.
Cleaning of heresy is the same, which allowed for the final, pagan Rome nuke.

Maybe Jake should start with something easier. Like standard WC. Johan said it will not be possible. After defeating Johan, then will come chance to humiliate him with Ryukyu WC.
I also haven't watched it all yet. Last I watched was midway through subduing Castille. WC with all the rebels and OE events is painful to even watch, I don't think I'll ever attempt this myself. Great job Jake, in any case. You awe and inspire.
congratulations jake, even if you don't get a 'masochist' achievement for completing three mountains .. again.
to be honest after you failed horribly in the second hansa war (there was this one stream where you were playing crap, refusing to go off speed 3 while being obviously too tired to play well) i doubted that it would be possible, but you recovered really well. its interesting to see that even with some hickups it was possible; i guess with some hardcore planning and later lots of unity mission abuse while being at war even a one tag WC would have been possible .. but not fit for youtube.

He's not debugger. He's deconstructing their game design. He's just playing the game in ways they never thought of.
For example, consider the infinite +stability events for pagans. Obviously nobody at Paradox ever thought about what it would mean to have a huge Animist country bordering multiple kinds of religions. It was enough stability to keep Jake at +3 even with repetitive trucebreaking.
There's no bug there. Just bad worksmanship on Paradox's part.
