What Johan means is they're going to be trying to fix as many of these exploits as they can to make games like these impossible. Keep in mind how hard it should be to do this as an Asian OPM compared to something like Austria. WC as a concept probably won't be made remotely impossible. Ones like Ryukyu? Most likely.

The question is how many of the exploits will they patch? Jake's recent exploits include the (long established) use of exiled units as spies which has been an extensively discussed exploit for the last year but still hasn't been patched. His protectorate exploit was never mentioned by Paradox as something that they intended to patch and abusing war results by winning and then offering tribute has been around since launch as well but still never fixed.

He's also able to release (and hold onto) new vassals and enact new (and maintain existing) policies even though he is running negative diplomatic points. If your most recent vassals would become independent if you didn't have the monarch points to "pay" for the relation slot every month then Jake's run would be over but, again, this isn't something I've seen any talk of being fixed.

The next patch will be interesting because some exploits will undoubtedly be closed but the race will be on to find the new ones and to continue abusing those left in.

Very true - They have to set the limit somewhere. Too restrictive and the game ceases to be any fun - or free. The game will play out on a very preset path. It's a hard balance.

Yeah, I usually have the most fun just casually playing until about 1700 when there's just nothing left to do except mindlessly annexing everything since I have reached whatever goal I had set to me...and everytime I say ok do it and start conquering stuff just because I can, I delete the save because my borders look ugly D:

I'm also not sure if its really soooo important to fix certain exploits since using them is such a pain in the *** in the first place.
At least I know that I wouldn't go out of my way to use these things in a game that I play for relaxation and enjoyment. ^^;;

Each time they "fix" an exploit, they appear to create new ones.

World Conquest... for an asian OPM. Let's face it - It has always been intended as a joke achievement not really meant to be achieved by anyone, let alone attempted by anyone sane.

I disagree; not only was it not "insane" but it wasn't particularly hard, just incredibly tedious with lots of early opportunities to lose to bad luck. Because, "let's face it" as you said - nothing in this game is hard. Nothing. It's just possible or not, with varying degrees of luck at the margins. Anyone can click the same buttons I did when I did it. It's a fully pause-able game. There is zero actual challenge in any of it.

And if you were right that it was really never intended to be achievable, then it never should have existed and paradox doesn't understand achievements.

Except you're doing an awful lot of huffing and puffing over the subject - This clearly shows that you could indeed care - less.

I care about paradox and this game, not whether or a particular achievement sticks around.

hmm, I dunno - I think jake underestimates scandinavia a bit, but seeing how he dispatched castile, i think he'll pull it off - worst case, he has to two-front sweden and portugal or something, but with france and soon castile as vassals that actually should be not too big a deal. the colonial warfare will get so much easier once he has CN superiority.

Not specifically because they think they've sussed out all of Jake's possible workarounds. Jake always has new workarounds.

In particular 1.8 will see "accept demands" resulting in the release of rebel-occupied territory. The last century or so would have looked a lot different if DDRJake had actually had to kill the millions of rebels he was generating.

Think the increased amount of provinces is the main thing, honestly. I mean, it miiight still be doable if they scale down things like coring costs and AE accordingly, but I doubt it.

It's obviously hard to comment on the new reb system without it being out, but I'm pretty much assuming there are going to be SOME workarounds there.

It'll probably still be doable, maybe not 1 tag, but with someone top tier like the Ottomans and Protectorates.

I don't see the point of saying that WC as Ryukyu should be impossible. Not when I see what it takes to achieve it.

To be fair, some of the exploits he used SHOULD be addressed. The religious unity one, especially, can be abused by pretty much any player for infinite ADM and DIP.

If they're patching things specifically to make Three Mountains impossible, that's one thing, but this is basically a game exploit that is getting patched.
