Please explain me how does it work. I've been playing EU4 since release, and I thought I understood how fort system work. But I was so f...ing wrong.
White lines are how forts SHOULD work.
Yellow - how enemy PASSED through MY forts
Blue - how my armies DID NOT PASS through HOSTILE forts.

So how the hell did Turks pass through my fort system ??? That makes no sense at all !!! If there is a thing with coastline, OK ! But why I can't do the same ?

Rebound province for Ottomans shifts from somewhere in Egypt to Sayda while passing over Nabulus. If the Fort were in Jerusalem they wouldn't be able to pass through. As for why you can't move to the province beyond Sayda that's because the fort in Sham cuts off the supplies and you don't have a province to act as the rebound on the other side of Sham. Oh and the Fort in Al Karak has absolutely no effect here. It only prevents someone from going to the Arabian Peninsula via Jerusalem. Essentially they can't move to Maan without sieging Al Karak first.

No, the return province doesn't change until you exit and re-enter ZOC. Assuming the OPs path-drawing is correct, it should be Damietta in this case.

Looks like this might be close to the beginning of the war. Was the fort in Nabulus mothballed at any point in time? If the Ottos started a path through the ZOC prior to the fort being re-activated, the path isn't ever recalculated and they'll continue through like there's no ZOC. I think it's been confirmed as a bug, and if not, it should be.

Alternatively, if they landed in Gaza via ship, then the return province is the Palestinian Coast, and thus they essentially have access to everything adjacent to it. I'm assuming you saw the complete movement, so I don't think that's the case here. You can do this to, just land your troops in a ZOC province and the sea province becomes the return province. This is very effective in places like the Agean.

Even if the return province didn't shift I can promise you the reason they could walk over it is that they control the province of Sayda. If England controlled it the Ottomans would not be able to pass through. Similar to how the Emperor of the HRE seems at times to be able to ignore forts in Germany. They control "friendly" provinces on the other side and are therefore able to by pass them since there is a "friendly" province on the other side, even if they have to walk straight over the fort to get to the other side. I don't know the exact rule that allows that or whether or not its another glitch with the fort system or an intentional mechanic but I've witnessed it so many times that I'm nearly certain that that is whats happening here.
