Hello,

I would like to form the Romanian nation but I not good at all at moding, I have no ideea what I have to do. The nation shoul appear after an event and the conditions should be gaining core or just owning the historcal Romanian regions. There should be 7 regions (Bassarabia, Budjak, Wallachia, Oltenia, Banat, Transilvania and Silistria). All of these regions are curently part of Romania although some of them have been ripped a little in pieces. The only regions that are no longer part of Romania are Budjak (part of Ukraine) and Bassarabia (indipendent country) but that's not important because the Great Romania contained them and this is exactly what I want to do.

So my question is, what must I don to form such a nation. I play EU3 Heir to the Throne.

P.S. Is there a way to implement this setting in a saved games? Because I have already a saved game where I play with Bassarabia and already own 6 regions, I only have to get Sillistria which is part of the Ottoman Empire.

You need to own Budjak, Bessarabia, Silistria, Transylvania, Oltenia, and Wallachia with cores, your primary culture must be Romanian, and Byzantium must not exist. Once these conditions are met and you are not at war, the national decision "Form Romanian Nation" should be available to enact.

Yup.

I'd personally recommend starting as Wallachia to get it done. I've formed Romania with Moldavia before (and is the only other option without changing cultures), but it isn't easy. Really though, the trickiest part is Byzantium. Not only do they need to die, but they have to stay dead. I ended up getting delayed in my forming of Romania because they rose back from the dead via rebels.

Anyone have a particularly sound strategy for forming Romania, by the way? I did it once through a boatload of luck (GH collapsed early and Castille crushed the Ottomans), but nothing that I could reliably translate to success

I actually believe forming Romania is slightly easier with Moldavia. Wallachia usually buddies up with Byzantium, Ragusa or Montenegro early in the game. They are far away and don't pose much of a threat, making Wallachia easy prey for the glorious nation of Moldavia. As Moldavia, you start out as a vassal of Poland, but you can swiftly cancel the vassalization since Poland tends to be busy fighting every single country it shares borders with anyway. You try to peace out with the horde for a cheap tribute and just DOW Wallachia when you think you're ready.

However, playing as Wallachia, you can't annex Moldavia right away since Poland is eager to protect its vassal, and it can take some time until Moldavia is independent again. Or even worse, Moldavia gets gobbled up by the nomads. Being a poor Balkan country early in the game, you rarely have the funds to fight the horde and afford colonists to bring the lands of Moldavia back to their cultural kins.

Moldavia's two provinces also have higher base tax.

Plus, I think the "Unite Romania" decision needs to be buffed. At least gimme a core on Banat or something.
