Forming Qing as Manchu

I need help understanding how I steal the mandate to get my trigger to change into Qing. I saw in some old guides that I should get a CB for grabbing the mandate. But I don't have it. I can easily beat them, I have several times. Their down to zero right now. I have all the Mongol land and only a little Korea left. Do I have to share a border with them? Or is the trigger broken?

If you border them, you should have 'Take Mandate of Heaven' cb. See wiki for requirements: https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Casus_belli

You're probably still a tributary, don't have mandate of heaven active, have a truce or have changed religion.

Curious, how do you not border them if you beat them so many times. Especially as that casus belli is also insane for taking a lot of land.

Probably mingsploded during truce and only bordered the tags ming spat out

Yes, Ming had a rebel break up forming 3 new countries. The northern one is the one I've been chipping away at.

If you're still a tributary you need to declare war for independence. Keep Horde government cause it gives Ming some nasty events that can speed up Mingplosion. Declare war on them constantly and devestate their provinces. Don't take much land from them cause all that devastation will play good for you and bad for Ming. You can take Beijing but don't claim Mandate yet. After they're weak or exploded take Mandate. That's what I did at least and it worked great for me. I ended up with Qing being formed.
