Now this is one of my ideas that i see as being a bit more controversial. I know forming nations come with some innate benefits.

However, aside from temporary claims and increased centralization there isn't much gratification to be had. Really feeling that the work you put in will have a lasting impact on your game I think is important. Getting unique ideas I think does this but those types of formable nations are few and far between.

Thus I would like to suggest a unique bonus granted to a nation being formed. So Italy might get extra trade power, germany might get production etc. At the least maybe a generic triggered modifier. Any additions or comments?

Not sure why someone get special bonuses. Why should just changing the Tag abd the name increase productivity? Because of the stereotype of the productive Germans?

We already have the NI wich focus on stereotypes and clichés.

Pretty sure the idea of forming a nation isn't just changing the name. It's about overhauling the legal structure; changing national identity, developing infrastructure etc. I think forming a nation doesn't necessarily need more bonuses generally, but I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of gaining development or similar if the decision, for example, moves the capital in the new site or gaining +productivity development in provinces producing a resource which is major to the nation I think?

It depends on a case by case basis. I'm pretty sure the stereotypical German was a beer drinking, fat man in lederhosen with ridiculous facial hair until Germany formed as a country. Then the stereotype changed considerably. If we're going off stereotypes then forming Germany should definitely give you bonus production efficiency.

Nations just don't change their name for the lols. The factors leading up to forming a nation such as Germany would be too many to go into in this post. That being said there are two main reasons I still like this idea, and they are that forming a nations symbolizes several like minded cultures coming together as a sovereign power and it would be cool for gameplay. Now as far as these "stereotypes" you are referring to. I would say they are less stereotypes and more abstract depictions of historical realities as to how nations operated in contrast with each other. As for the concerns for over powering formation, I see some good points. However, as it stands some formable nations are much more beneficial than others. So either the forming nation bonus or paradox could make up new NI's for every formable nations. Either of these would be sufficient in my mind.
