I've played maybe 20 games in a row as the Knights, trying to form Jerusalem. Needless to say, it isn't working.
Many of the games have been fairly successful over-all, but Mamluks are so strong now that fighting them outright is simply impossible. It used to be you could sneak in while they were at war with Ottomans, but there are so many small states between Mamluks and Ottomans now that, by the time such a war starts, the Reformation has already begun and, therefore, forming Jerusalem is impossible.
It seems like you'd need to use some extremely gamey tactics if you wanted to pull it off. I'm already using a no-CB war on Ragusa as my opening move. Is it possible to do without cheesing it up big time?
