i have been trying to form the HRE as austria.i am wondering what is the best way to do this.i am able to pass a few reforms but then when princes start converting to protestant i lose all my IA.i dont know what is the best way to get back IA.
should i stick to getting nations to release countries for IA or should i attack the eastern lands of non HRE countries like poland lithuania etc ?
what should i do about hungary ? should i try a PU or try and annex them after a few wars ? then try and reach a border with the ottowomans ?
also at what point should i deal with france ?
i think after a few reforms the princes seemed wiling to pass the next 1 but i did was always losing IA.
i dont know if there is a best way but i know if i head east i can get IA from captured provinces.
