I think we should clarify some positions, I'm still wondering if I'm right in this party. Like :

- Free Trade ( WTO agreement ) : YES
- Free Market ( no STATE Companies in the Economical sphere ) : YES
- Death Penalty : NO
- Conscription : NO
- Homosexual Marriage : YES
- Abortion : Conscious Clause
- Entrance in the European Union : YES
- Minimum Salary Guarantee : YES
- Public Sphere : Army, Police, Justice, Hospitals, ...
- Citizenship : Awarded after a one year public service (army, police, hospital ...anything that devotion to state)

this is not an exhaustive list but just some questions that pumped up to my mind. Add other topics if you'd like.

I'm a little unclear about that citizenship bit. If it means that immigrants may acheive citizenship through those channels it's fine, but if it means citizens must perform public service to gain the full rewards of citizenship it's a case of unwarranted government intrusion.

Well, libertarians tend to hold that "the government governs best which governs least." If every citizen is forced to serve the public for a year, that means the public sector is quite large. It also means people are being forced into jobs they don't wish to have. A libertarian view is that the government should not control the job market and that people should be free to live their lives how they want. Conscription goes against this because it takes away people's freedom, not just because it forces them to kill. Labor conscription also takes away freedom.

I'd also like to bring up the issues that typically separate libertarians from both right and left-
Legalizing gambling, prostitution, marijuana
Either legalizing or decriminalizing harder drugs

I changed my first post already, except for membership, which you just reminded me of...

Done.

M. Jetson, as stated, I personally am interpreting that as "The immigrant will be granted citizenship before normal regulations if he/she performs public service. If M. Apebe would clarify exactly...

Marijuana: I think it can be legalized.
Gambling: Hey, why not? Everyone likes a bit every once in a while. OOC Here in New York, where it's illegal, people do it privately anyway. We have a wager with my brother that he can't talk until december 4th, at 4:00 PM.
IM
Prostitution: I don't like personally, but sex is natural, and some people are poor and need the money.
Harder drugs: I don't know.

As for harder drugs, I don't think we need to necessarily legalize them(we wouldn't be able to pass that law anyway), but I do think they should be decriminalized somewhat. Users should be sentenced to rehab, and sellers shouldn't be punished as harshly as thieves and violent criminals(unless they resort to violent crime themselves).

Should we establish a Party newspaper? So far, your own paper seems a bit too "fair and balanced" to be the party organ ;) We need spin :D I'm not sure what the rules are on how many papers we can run...

Concerning gambling : YES, legalize. No State monopole like in France, but interdiction for under 18

Prostitution : YES as long as the person is free to choose and is not enslaved by someone else.

Concerning my reformed Citizenship proposal :
All who are born on Eutopia are Eutopians. Immigration is limited ( immigrants are welcomed as long as there presence doesn't restrict liberty of Eutopians).
My proposal was to limit the right to vote and eligibility to those who actually commit to the state. Nobody is forced to do a one year service, only those who whish to vote and get elected. But it's just a novative proposal, I do understand your arguments against it.

The FR is more than willing to accept the outstretched hand of the Libertarians, and are willing to cordinate economic policy and federalist reform with them. We also are in negotiations with the ERP, and with this coalition, I think we would stand a very good chance of toppeling the RD-Socialist coalition.

We will stand ready to enter strategic alliance negotiations at the earliest opportunity.

Most Sincerely,
Sean Galloglaigh

Please don't take it personnaly but your proposal has already been noted ( twice ;) :D ). I think you should use PM (to our Chairman or Spokesman) in the future as this thread is reserved for internal discussions. When you respond to a post of a member, you have to remind that this post engages only the member and it's not necessarely the parti official view.

Thank you in advance,
