By my count we have over 350 different states and tribes to play as in Imperator (nearly 90 in Hispania alone, jeez), which would make it the most heavily populated Paradox game ever (well, except CK II, but the political system works very differently there). That's amazing. But I'm also wondering how many additional *potential* nations there are going to be:

One the one hand there are a number of very large empires in the game, and I'm wondering to what extent they can fragment. What about all those Greek city states (Corinth, the Thessalian cities, etc.) currently occupied by the Diadochi? Can I free them? Is a neo-neo-Babylonian state possible? For that matter, can any of the city-state leagues (the Etruscans, Boetia, etc.) break up into some of their components?

On the other hand, what are some of the possibilities for forming new nations out of smaller states? We know some kind of restored Persian Empire can happen, and that tribes can form larger federations. Can Greek cities form new unified leagues (in Crete for example, which I expect to become the new "noob island.")? It would also be pretty satisfying to proclaim a unified Italia as a non-Roman people, which did happen (notionally, at least) during the Social War of 91-88 BC.

Anyway, speculate about formable tags you'd like to see below.

In the Ask and Question video Johan put up the decision screen for the Celts. Apparently every nation with the celtic culture tag is able to form either Gallia or Galatia if they hold some defined provinces.

Forming Galatia within a historical time frame is going to be a pretty wild ride, given the starting strength of the Antigonids.
