Playing as Ming in DW, after choosing the form chinese nation decision, i lost my mandate of heaven mod unrest level rose due it and because of change of culture. Worst, I change the name of my country to my enemy's. Shouldn't decisions make a country stronger instead of taking a step backwards?

Personally, I felt that no sane Han Chinese during that time would change their name and culture to a minority. It's equivalent to England after conquering Scotland and forming UK, changed their culture to Scottish.

BTW, felt that it would be great if there is a decision to rebuilt the Mongol Empire as one of the mongol horde instead of Mughal Empire.

It is one of the more perplexing decisions in the game, as it seems to completely go against EU3's theme of alternate but plausible histories. It seems like it's there just to make sure that the Qing rule China at the end of the game no matter what, despite each game having a different timeline, and despite the utter ridiculousness of how it's achieved.

However, the decision could have some use if changed. It could provide a way for China to escape the faction system/Celestial Empire government, perhaps being enabled after westernization or a specific government tech, representative of the old court system being discarded in favor of newer, better forms of governance, and China moving itself away from claiming to be the center of the universe to a more realistic point of view in which they're just a particularly powerful nation.

This decision is more appropriate for Manchu rather than Ming as this decision basically shifts the capital and add cores.

Tried to mod the decision by changing tag=MCH and NOT{exist=MNG} and played as Manchu. The decision appeared after defeating Ming but the effects take place after clicking on the decision and the decision goes into a loop. Any modders here know where the problem lies?

DW introduced celestial empire and faction... both of which can be modded to allow a super awesome Ming game... or a super crappy Ming game if unmodded...

You lost mandate of heaven because the decision allow you to inherit Manchu as Ming (coded as part of the decision), and the problem is that inheriting lowers your legitimacy by 50, which leads to M.O.H. Lost...

The best solution is to create a new tag or mod the decision into something else~ Automatic westernization? Inheriting Timur, Horde, Korea and Japan? You name it~

I assume by "loop" you mean the decision can be reenacted. Then the problem is that as long as You(manchu) exist and Ming does not exist, the decision can be reenacted.

add in "Not = { capital = 1816 }" at the "allow" or "potential" category should prevent the loop as long as you don't change the capital from Hejian to somewhere else.

add in "Not = { government = despotic_monarchy }" will prevent the loop as well unless you change to some other form of government.

Still couldn't get the code to work properly... the loop i meant is that the decision can be renacted because the effect of the decision does not take place even after clicking on the decision. Nothing changes except the random province which has +1% base tax, therefore I knew the code is working, just couldn't get the effects to take place. Thanks anyways colintjx.

Can only hope that the official patch would fix MNG pirate raid bug also. Currently, using the code for korean to stop the pirate raids even after defeating them.

@Ooi, try making a new tag (CHI, maybe?) and put it in, see if it works after that. Just a guess. The new tag can even have the same name and flag, if you want..

Well, after activating the "Form Chinese Nation" decision, my Manchu empire save file became inaccessible. Wouldn't be a problem (I could stay Ming), but for the fact that my current save file is 40 years into Manchu ... which still wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't spent a good 20 of those years painstakingly colonizing bordering horde peoples. What's more, I fully Westernized in that period and shot forward to world's biggest economy and only a few tech levels behind Western Europe. I don't wanna do all that over again....

It seems more foolproof to have the decision set a global flag, and then preventing the decision from appearing if the global flag is set. That would mean it can be done only once, unless you code some other event to remove the flag.
