Why are the monarches for various countries the same every game? That doesn't make sense to me. I realise they are following a historical path for the monarches but if nothing else in the game is following an exact historical path then why do the monarchs?

It just seens like a very inflexible system and it doesn't reflect the alternate realities that this game creates very well at all. I'm not saying the monarch's should be totally random, but a bit of variation wouldn't hurt.

It would be funny if an event pops up about a current monarch when there is actually a different random monarch in control of your nation. Just one possibility...:D

And the fact that they do have some skills that actually are important in the game, and making diferent sets could be rather tedious!

With the current game engine, you'd have to create huge monarch trees for every nation where each branch represents a different alternate history. I have not treated this problem with any mathematical rigor, but it seems plausible that any finite monarch tree could not cover every possible alternate history. Anyway, a monarch tree that represents alternate history to a good approximation would require a large number of braches. Multiply that by some 150 nations, and it becomes obvious why this has not been implemented.
