Hello everybody.
How it is that i can force a peace treaty over the AI?
I was thinking that destroing the enemy army and occupying their whole territory was enough to make them accept every territorial loss.
But that does not seem the case in my last war.
What can i do to FORCE the peace treaty i want to the computer? (without neville...)

I started a game with Victoria after a very long time, played a century of the Great Campaign; i was playing Sardinia-Piedmont, with the idea of creating Italy.
After that i went industrial and colonial, and all is going good.

My "problem" is that, since i caused Austria to go angry with me i found myself winning a Great War with them every five years in the '900.
That led them to an alliance with Germany, and to another war with both of them; my (oversized) army went on to occupy both Austria (wich accepted a separated peace leaving them with just Wien) and the whole of Germany and its colonies (a third of Africa, Windwars Islands, Groenland, Island).

As i paid money for the oversized army, and used time to get the total victory my megalomany wanted i'd like to leave Germany with just Berlin too.
I have between 10000 and 24000 soldiers in every German home province, their colonies watched by good armies 3-5 division stacks, and i do not seem to be able to get the peace i want.

When i open the peace-offering box i find a +100% score, they have a war exaustion of 58 or the like (to 28 or the like) and still they do not relent to my greedness. And they now started to spawn 5 partisans a month!

What can i do?
(I tried to re-play an old saved game, and i found out that by the actual date they would have been happy to relent if i accepted minor peaces and immediately started wars every week eating them at trunks at "just" prestige cost)

Thanks to all!!

You will not be able to recieve all provinces but Berlin in a peace deal. This is simply because it wouldn't have happened in real life at that time period. Take for example the Prussian wars against Austria and France. Even though they beat their enemies they didn't get many provinces in the peace deals.

So, you will probably have to be satisfied with maybe a dozen or so provinces, unless you use the neville cheat. But if I were you, I'd just sattelite Germany and keep them as my puppet. They won't bother you again then.

That was going to be my question. The reason they keep declaring war on you is because you've racked up a large badboy score.
And, additionally, possibly because of running a version of Vicky that is not "hotfixed"?

Exactly which version of Victoria are you running, and are you running OHgamer's hotfixes? Without the hotfixes, I believe both the German and Italian unification events generate badboy points that make the world angry with you. Angry enough for the world to try and kill you!

Or, did you accumulate badboy when creating a colonial empire, by annexing too much too quickly? I can't really tell from your post.

F12 and typing "badboy" will reveal your badboy score, if you didn't know that. F12 and then Esc will get you out of the "cheat window", as I call it.

Just checking, you do know about the idea of badboy right?

My Badboy is 522 because i was playing cowardly or opportunistically and ended up annexing France, Egypt, the Ottoman territory from Russia, most of black Africa, Siam, French Indochina and Borneo.
When my governament went Presidential Dictatorship i decided for a bonapartist evolution of the republic i had in 184X, and i feel that part good.
I was happy to wait the espected Austian aggression and i was mobilizing a couple of monthes before our peace-treaty expiring to add provocation.
(I told you that this game is megalomanic)

My question is: why Austria accepted to be annihilated when its ally Germany was still a force to be reconned with, while later Germany alone and crushed did not?
Can this have to do with the Great Power status?
That is: do nations accept worst conditions in peaces if they are just indipendent states, as Austria and France in my game?

EDIT: i forgot to say good bye and thanks for the attention! :)

The better the AI sees its chances of surviving and eventually winning the war, the less likely it will be to make peace. So weaker Austria will fold easier than Germany.

Thanks Gen. Skobelev

Yes, but when Austria relented, in this case they had fronteering ally.
When i write, Germani is totally (literally) occupated, and had a division or two (mostly two) in each national province, while the colonies were totally occupated (if not totally presidiated).
In effect Germany had a higer partisan spawn rate, and that could be the cause of the AI seeing itself in a better position.
Germany offers peace, and it is a disastrous peace for them, but i cannot force them to my conditions: i tested and when i offer, they accept up to -430% peaces, but not the total annihilation i hoped.

I feel this too can be a reason: -430 was probably (not sure) enough to glob what was left of Austria (or the others i conquered in this game) and it is not enough to do the same to Germany.
So it may be a WAD.

That would mean that i moved from an incorrect idea (that existed a level of victory, in war, that allows you to pretend literally what you wish from your enemy)

Thanks you all for the help!

The most likely explanation is that Germany still has a military unit somewhere, most likely a ship. Austria rarely builds much of a navy, so once you crush her army you can get those absolute peaces. Germany is harder becuase you would also have to track down and sink every ship.

All the comments about the relative strengths of Germany versus Austria, WE, badboy, etc. are all extraneous. They matter only if you are going for a partial peace agreement. If you occupy every enemy province and have destroyed every military unit, I've found it possible to ALWAYS get the peace treaties you are looking for.

So it was the navy! In this game case, they still had a lot of them.
Thank you too, Ericus1!!!

And goodbye to everybody!!
