I'm playing the regular version of the game as Ansbach, and I've diplo-annexed Baden and Wurttemburg. I got involved in a Succession war in which Bavaria sided with Austria against me. They won and instead of making me release nations, the force vassalized. I know when I force vassalize someone I still have to ask them to annex them. Will I be asked or will it just happen in 10 years? I know I can't get out of the vassalization on my own, but they could still be forced to in a war or something right? Argh...

I'm pretty sure as a human player you cannot be diplo-annexed....not sure if it would even be worth playing after being forced vassaled though.
I think it could be really fun. Bide your time, take opportunities to snipe provinces and gain power, then try to win your freedom.

As it turns out I never had to find out. Bavaria got routed in a war with France. So they got to be a vassal and I regained my freedom. I've since allied with France conquered Bremen in a war with Denmark and diplo-annexed Saxony.

However I will admit that when I was vassalized I didn't think there would be much point in continuing. Even so, I didn't want to admit defeat or reload. I figured I just be a pain to Bavaria. Lucky me I only had to wait 9 months until I got my freedom back.

You can get out of vassalization on your own, by the way, but you have to declare war on your liege to do so.

That would be all I would be playing on for. VENGEANCE! I'd try building armies and waiting for the chance to kick "my master's" ass while they are inflicted in a war with someone else... but in fact this never happened to me because I've never played minor nations. ;)

Let me understand force vassiliation.

If I win a war, and force vassilise my enemy, will I be able to diplo-annex later on if the conditions are right?

First thing to do after force-vassalizing them is offering an alliance to them, so ýou can take an influence if they are attacked and you don't want them to lose territory before you can diplo-annex them ;)
Second thing is improving relations with them until >190. After 10 years you'll get the possibility to diplo-annex them.
But as I just heard in another thread is that the target-country must be as large as you or smaller, otherwise the "offer annexiation" button is geryed out or it remains impossible. But that's only what I've read somewhere round here, I didn't make any experiences with that on my own.

True; you can dipannex countries you cannot dipvassalize (theocracies and republics), but not ones of a different religious grouping (Christian, Moslem, Eastern, Pagan).
