Wow the map scroll is so quick and smooth!

Claude I wish I had whatever you've got. While I'm unspeakably jealous, I wish you much joy whilst you are wiping out every enemy and friend (or future enemy as I prefer to call them :D) in sight.

Alas my experience has been very different.

Still jerky and blurring in the map for me, despite installing the patch. Have switched to legacy view and that's only marginally better. Oh and if you've rebooted it reverts back to the same as before. So not only do I not get the functionality I've payed for, I have to faff about resetting the damm legacy thing every time I come into the game. Hacked off to put it mildly.

I've never been moved to comment in the past but this release is by far and away the worst I have ever seen anywhere. Period. God knows Semper Fi had its faults at launch, but at least it never made your eyes and ears bleed. I know the game is complicated and accept that you can't foresee every possible outcome. Quirky anomalies in the gameplay and even flakey AI I can live with, (and have done with all the other manifestations of HOI). You can adapt and overcome until they are ironed out. A malfunctioning view that hurts your eyes however is not something you can ignore.

To be honest I'm beginning to lose faith in this company. The testing of this new camera view feature prior to release appears to have been rudimentary at best. Whatever they've tried in the patch hasn't fixed it either. This sort of thing seems to be becoming more and more of an issue with Paradox releases. If its fixed quickly all well and good. If its not, and this drags on, or worse still nothing's done about it, then it will lead me to conclude that trying out new Paradox products is just not worth the grief. I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that.

I cannot stand wet wi(e)ners, too.

Do you think, the AI is better than in Hoi3Sf?

If yes, then I may give it a try, otherwise I shall wait for another patch.

Ah, and is there a 36-45 GC?

Thx.

I'm not the target of the question. But IMO the AI in FTM is pretty awesome on the operational level. Strategic is hard to tell so soon but I haven't noticed anything odd yet.
Barbarossa as the SU on hard was a blast. Playing as the US is A LOT harder now since it's very hard to join the war early and as an effect you basically have to stack up on IC and theoreticals in preparation for the unavoidable.
Japan is sadly still a bit weak in the pacific but they DO seem to fight a war there now.
Handling allies has become a lot better as they seem to have stopped spamming expeditionary forces and don't move around large armies all over your rear lines messing up supply as before.
Armor feels more powerful (although I have no real data to back it up). They really excel in the open vs INF.

All in all a lot of nice improvements, most of them seem to be under the hood and the AI has come a long way since HOI3 release.

Strange. I have a 3 almost 4 year old rig and it runs like a charm as long as I don't crank the speed setting up to maximum. When the game is paused it's like zooming in with Google Earth.... ok maybe not but it's pretty smooth, quick and sharp.

No idea mate. But never had any problems before though. How do I check? I'm cack with hardware

Run dxdiag and just post the basic information here.

This is probably just me, but every time after the fall of France, England starts an invasion in Norway.

In my current game, in the span of a week, France surrendered, France was puppeted by Germany, Vichy France happened, and then France annexed Vichy France.

I suspect this is the problem. The Intel card is an integrated graphics card. It is part of the motherboard rather than it's own dedicated card such as something from nVidia or ATI. Not generally good for gaming and most games won't support them. You can check google for any driver updates for it and install them which might help, but I'm pretty confident in saying that the hardware is the problem.

It's been reported in the bug report forum. I had it happen with both Denmark and Poland after taking them as Germany.

There are great video cards in all sorts of price ranges. Honestly, it won't take much to get better performance than the integrated graphics setup you have, so I wouldn't spend too much.

If you post how much you want to spend, we can tell you your options. :)

Well, I've played for about 5 hours with no crashes. I like all of the new features I've been able to notice, with the exception of the scrolling which I am neutral towards.

I tried a total of 12 times to install this game via Gamersgate, and had no success. I took a day off (long work day) and then returned to it this morning via STEAM. I purchased the game (and HOI3 and SF) and have absolutely no problems. No crashes, no issues. I think that the issues that people have with PI really are issues with Gamersgate. PI games on Steam work just fine on my computer and on my wife's (both machines could not do FTM via Gamersgate).

You ever try Game booster? http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html Sometimes the jerky is just your processor doing too many things at once. I don't have the best set up but Im getting a smooth ride. But I also shut down everything pretty much when I play any game. Game booster works for me.
