In my last England game I DOW on Scotland's ally and co-belligeranted them, calling France in about 1450. I dealt with Ireland, Scotland, and Novgorod with my 35k, and Castile with about 35k and Austra with 40k easily dealt with France's 45k. When I was done with the isles and in the north I helped with France just to speed up the sieges. I don't understand how you lost with such large numbers.
Just attack them as early as possible.neither do i, which is the problem, France has won every battle even one were we were 60k against France's 30k, we were defending in the mountains, and France was crossing a river. i don't get it either, it doesn't make logical sense.
France is so weak in this patch its not even funny. Burgundy will roll over them, queue in DOW from England and its pretty much gone by 1480.
Their first idea does nothing for an AI France.
In my last Muscovy game France was an OPM by 1500; Burgundy, England, Provence, and Aragon ate them up.Not sure what you're talking about here, I've seen France win against Burgundy 7 games in a row now.
Post a screenshot from a battle where we can see morale, discipline, tactics, generals and one with their ideas. If they don't have significant advantages there, I honestly don't know what is happening since they should definetly lose an attack into mountains with less troops than the defender, if both armies are of the same quality
My best guess: you put all your troops into the battle at once, and France wiped their morale with their Élan bonus. Commit only combat width plus artillery to the battle, and have the rest reinforce a little later, then retreat the first part of the army if it's still above 0.5 morale. If you have numerical advantage, you need to reinforce to win, not just throw everything in at once.
Your base combat width is 15... So it's 15+9...the combat width at tech 8 is 9, so my armies were set up like this 9/2/9, i did exactly what you said, but ultimately it didn't matter, for some reason France just won every battle in a matter of seconds
Your base combat width is 15... So it's 15+9...
Haha yeah, you can see it in combat view tho'.okay i honestly didn't know that, i always assumed that the combat width number the game provides in the mil tech tab was the actual combat width
silly me for thinking that the game gave me the actual applied math in a paradox game![]()
i usually play at speed 4 or 5, i never actually look at the individual battles unless there is something wrongHaha yeah, you can see it in combat view tho'.
France got Elan and France just like Poland are heavily cavalry focused nation so you die in shock phase. Moreover next time don't do such a stupid things like selling your land to your enemies just DoW them in 1444 using Castille, Austria and any other country willing gang bang France. Soon you'll see everyone DoW'ing them.
If you see such set up just restart the game till you see Castile and Austria are rival to France, Aragon might come in handy as well. Day 1 ally them day 2 DoW France with Reconquest CB or sth else.well i would have if not for the fact that castile was allied to france (only joined my war because it was defensive) and austria was getting carpet sieged by burgundy and lost tirol and the emperorship at the start of the game, also no country was willing to go to war with france in this game, even provence was allied to france
