I'm not disagreewing with you there, even more peace content would be nice. In time I'd like to see technology linked to mean development and the aqquiration (and loss) of development made more intresting than simply pushing buttons.
They can't do that, since improving development was tied to the Common Sense DLC.

At least adjust the diplo annex speed to the new diplo annex cost.

Bad idea.

Imagine bleeding 40 DIP each month, fighting a war while annexing a not-tiny vassal? Well, by the end of the war you don't have any spare DIP to make Britain give up one of its provinces bordering the Irish Sea (and another seazone, so you can fab claims on both sides) to your Ming China EZmode, even with a +7 ruler, +3 base, +3 advisor, +2 focus, and no DIP policies.

Diplo-annex needs a cost cut ASAP.

There are just too many necessary things other than ideas and tech that end up costing ADM points throughout the game that I end up being starved for them. I have yet to take my national focus off of ADM to keep up.

ADM - Stabilty, Coring
DIP - Diplo Annex
MIL - ??

If you are careful while expanding you dont need to supress rebels or pay dip points for peace deals. Culture conversion has always felt like more flavor than necessary.

It feels like the current design says that it's OK to blob but you need to pick the right ideas to do it. However, there are still too many other things that require ADM points that you cannot avoid to justify the increased cost to coring.

Perhaps, I guess it will have to be a EU5 thing then. Pr perhaps a free patch improvement Though it seems odd I'll give you that.

It would make sense to up the base to be a bit faster. Maybe 50% more than it currently is?

As in 50% less of a cost, or you use 50% more diplo points? Personally, I'd only agree to the latter if the player is allowed to control how many diplo points are being invested into the diplo annexation per month. I don't want to spend 18 DP a month and then not being able to demand what I want in wars.

Well you tend to cap out around 4-8 points per month, a 50% increase of that would put you up to 6-12 points per month.

To expound on my reply from yesterday, coring costs have gone up somewhere around 40% compared to 1.11 (more for dipannexation) because we wanted to create some more interesting dynamics where conquering everything around you was not necessarily always the best option.

It is still both possible and rewarding to expand, particularly if you take the right ideas, put money into advisors and use a mix of conquest and diploannexing. As Milan, I was able to unify most of Italy (more than twice starting development of France) in under a century without any core cost reduction, and could easily have done so faster. Growth is slower but it's certainly not 'blobbing now pointless'.

With that said, you are of course free to disagree, but this was an intended change and we knew it would upset some people, so we're not reverting it just because of one angry thread on the forums.
i welcome the change to me blob is too boring

Fighting wars is more boring than sitting there watching the timer tick by.

...watching grass grow without using a microscope must make you cream yourself then. That's the only conclusion you can draw from that.

This development thing won't make any more people play past 1650, because unless you full retarded, after that point there's no challenge even if you initially began as Ryukyu.

My 2 cents:
In my current game Castille took half of Aragon and Muscovy most of Novgorod and one or two provinces out of Golden Horde. Both of them are still at admin tech 3 (and year is almost 1480)
