We have deployed Sensor platforms blanketing the jump points near the Skinnies (which we encountered in the Cricket system). Our Net Tender is now heading for the Earwig system to spread some Sensor platforms around the jump points leading to Yukk space. The other jump points leading out of our controlled area are less urgent.

EDIT

We have dropped off sensor platforms at the exits to Yukk space.

We have deployed twelve of the sensor platforms in total.

There is one monitoring each of our jump lanes, and one on each jump point that leads to a Skinny or Yukk star system:

Note that there are TWO jump points that both lead from the Pharaoh Ant system to the Cricket system, so we deployed a sensor on each of them.

With Luna now a class-0 world, we have moved our stack of terraformers to Mars.

The first phase of the Martian terraforming was quickly completed... Mars now has enough Oxygen that the atmosphere will become breathable once we dilute the Oxygen down to 30% or less. Since the ambient temperature is below -40 C, we are now diluting it down with greenhouse gas, thus killing two birds with one stone.

We have completed theoretical research on Magneto-Plasma Fusion Drives and are now working on specific engine hardware designs.

Just a bit more and we might realistically be called an interstellar power, and not just interstellar :)

We'll need to put a definite end to the resource crisis first. So far we've been squeaking past one resource emergency after another.

... but we needed a fleet, because our neighbors were far ahead of us in tech and refused to talk. Our fleet is coming together nicely, so the focus can shift back to expanding our resource base.

With the establishment of a major mining operation on Woodworm A-II Moon 2, we finally have active large-scale mining of all 11 trans-Newtonian elements.

Code:
Mining:

Duranium    RM FA EW WW
Neutronium    EW WW
Corbomite    RM FA EW
Tritanium    WW
Boronide    WW
Mercassium    HR EW
Vendarite    FA EW
Sorium        HR WW
Uridium        HR
Corundium    RM FA EW
Gallicite    HR WW

HR = Comet Herschel-Riggolet
RM = Comet Reinmuth
FA = Fire Ant A-1
EW = Earwig Comet #10
WW = Woodworm A-II moon 2

Year 50. Still focused on expanding our resource base. Not much to report. Our expanding fleet is using up fuel in training much faster than we're producing it. I'm shifting our Orbital Fuel Refineries to the neighboring Fire Ant system, where they can orbit a Gas Giant with 100% Sorium concentration instead of Jupiter's 40%.

EDIT:

We now have four Xenoarcheology teams working on Earwig B-III to examine and decipher the alien ruins found on that planet.

You need to end your communications with "Glory to the Hive" or "For the Broodmother" something like that? ;)

The terraforming of Mars is coming along nicely.

Glory to the Hive!

Dominant terrain is new, correct, and it plays a role in ground unit combat (and in orbital bombardment as well).

I would like to offer my services to the Hive to protect us from the foul xenos.

Please accept this offer for a commission to one of our finest warships.

We have available five Command Ships, five Battlecruisers, eight Carriers, 18 Gauss PD Frigates, eight Frigate Leaders and hordes of Fighters... no Laser PD Frigates have come off the ways yet.

What sort of ships would you, Avernite, Blaaat, Krombopulos, Rendap etc like to command?

We also have new missile designs on the drawing board, but we lack the Gallicite to replace our current missile stocks.

I'd like a command ship. I've done quite enough solo-ing as a scout, I'm sure I can handle learning fleet tactics to get the future cushy jobs.

Carrier or Battlecruiser obviously.

We have launched our 51st Orbital Mining Platform, with more under construction. This is the first time I've gone into orbital mining in a big way, and it seems to be working out well. Our three Orbital Mining sites are producing a total of nearly 40,000 tons of minerals per year.
